Date Feb. 22, 1996A process for filling a non-self-supporting pack with cylindrical, pellet-like products by introducing into a pack closely surrounding at least one multiple-row layer of the products in such a manner that the products are arranged beside and above one another in linear contact with one another at their cylindrical surfaces and are arranged closely adjacent one another in the pack so that they fit exactly into the pack, are self-supporting, and disperse a pressure applied externally to the pack through the cylindrical surfaces of the products. The pack is brought into a transportation position wherein the products are in an upright position. A pack unit of the products is also disclosed.

Description

The invention relates to a method for filling a package with cylindrical, tablet-shaped products, in particular detergent tablets, wherein at least one multi-row layer of tablet-shaped products in such a way the location tightly enclosing packaging is entered that next to or Tablet-shaped products arranged one above the other are each on the cylinder surface touch linearly and a corresponding packaging unit.

It is known to powder detergents or cleaning agents in a mold Form external pressure into portioned compacts. Detergent tablets of this type are often made in cylindrical form. The cylinder jacket surface highly compressed and smooth. The diameter of such Tablets have only small tolerances, any fluctuations in the density of the powder product and fluctuations in baling pressure regularly only have an effect in slight fluctuations in height out.

So far, such tablet-shaped products have been packed loose. Therefore self-supporting folding boxes and the like, for example rectangular drums, needed.

A disadvantage of the known method is that only one due to the loose bed low packing density is achieved. The packaging effort is in relation to Very high filling quantity. There will be a large amount of air space between each tablet-shaped products packed with. This entails unnecessarily high costs for packaging, transport and storage. Another disadvantage is that when Filling, transport and storage of loosely poured tablet-shaped products make them strong rub and break off the edges of the compact.

A method of the type mentioned is known from US-A-3,014,321. This The publication also shows a packaging unit with the features of the generic term of claim 4. For packaging, a reusable slide with used raised side walls, in which initially a reinforcement cardboard inserted becomes. The goods to be packed, e.g. B. cylindrical, tablet-shaped products filled. Another reinforcement box is placed on the products placed and the entire arrangement is wrapped with packaging material, e.g. B. one Transparent film wrapped and closed on one of the end sides. Then the reusable sliders pulled out of this wrapper, and still open end is folded so that one is reinforced by two cardboard boxes closed packaging for the product results.

With this known method, a reduction in edge breakage is already achieved, Product abrasion and clutter in the packaging achieved, but the packaging effort is still relatively high.

The object of the invention is to clear the packaging, transport and storage costs to reduce while avoiding damage to the tablet-shaped products.

This object is achieved according to the invention with a method of the type described in the introduction solved in that the tablet-shaped products fit snugly, close to each other lying in a self-supporting manner acting on the packaging from the outside Distribution and distribution of pressure across the cylinder surfaces in the packaging be arranged, and that a non-self-supporting packaging is used and the packaging is brought into a transport position in which the products stand upright.

So the tablets carry themselves in an upright position, and the flow of force through one external load, e.g. B. batch printing with stacked packages forwarded over the cylinder surface. Through the exact, even The diameter of the compacts thus means that all tablets are carried in the packaging reached, the pressure load on each individual tablet is low. Also through the Line contact on the cylinder surface a disturbing product abrasion and edge break largely excluded.

By lying close to each other, the tablet-shaped slides back and forth Products avoided and thus maximum stability of the packaging and the content reached.

The tablet-shaped held together by the outer non-self-supporting packaging Products carry themselves. The packaging effort can be minimized only a slight outer coating of the tablet-shaped is required Products.

In an advantageous embodiment of the invention it can be provided that a flat, not yet folded blank of a packaging with at least one tablet layer and then the at least one tablet layer is wrapped tightly. This enclosing wrapping and gluing is also known as the so-called wrap-around process.

In a further alternative embodiment it can be provided that a flat, not yet folded blank of a package partially erected is by gluing the top and / or bottom dust flaps so that the largest opening area at the top serves as a tablet holding chamber, this is then loaded with at least one tablet layer and the packaging then subsequently sealingly wrapping the at least one tablet layer becomes. The equipment can z. B. with a robot suction plate.

The invention also provides a packaging unit with the features of claim 4 before, in which the tablet-shaped products according to the inventive method or one of the configurations are arranged in the packaging. Such a packaging unit contains the tablet-shaped products packaged according to the invention. Due to the exact fit of the packaging unit, the at least one tablet layer and series tightly encloses, high product protection with minimized packaging, Transport and storage expenses achieved.

Fig. 1
Fig. 2
The invention is explained below with reference to the drawing, for example. This shows in
Fig. 1
an ordered tablet layer surrounded by a packaging only partially shown with linear contact of the cylinder surfaces in the transport position from a side view and
Fig. 2
a top view of an orderly tablet layer lying on the end face with a push stamp for insertion into an erected, only partially shown packaging with an open flap side.

From a packaging unit 1 with a packaging and in it arranged tablet-shaped products are in the Figure 1 only a multi-row layer of tablet-shaped products 2 as well as the narrow sides of a surrounding area Packaging 3 shown in the transport position.

The tablet-shaped products arranged in several rows 2 touch 4 linearly on their cylinder surface in areas 5, both side and side stacked tablet-shaped products 2. At a pressure exerted on the packaging from the outside, for example a stack pressure 6, the power flow over the cylinder surfaces 4 of the tablet-shaped products 2 forwarded and distributed. That way the pressure load of each individual tablet-shaped product low, these carry themselves, so the packaging 3 itself is non-load-bearing.

An advantageous method for orderly filling a Package 3 with tablet-shaped products 2 is in Figure 2 is shown in simplified form. On a feed level 7 an erected non-self-supporting packaging 3, for example, a longitudinally glued folding box blank, with fed to an open flap side 8. On a further feed level 9 If, for example, a multi-row layer is on the Lateral tablet-shaped products 2 supplied and by means of a slide stamp 10 in the corresponding positioned packaging 3 inserted. The packaging 3 will be promoted on level 7 and, as in the drawing is not shown, glued and by rotation through 90 ° into the transport position shown in FIG. 1 brought.

Of course, the invention is not based on that in the drawing illustrated embodiments limited. Other configurations the invention are possible without the basic idea to leave. As packaging can next a non-self-supporting box also every other, suitable non-self-supporting packaging materials must be selected. To meet the needs of the To suit trade, the outer dimensions should be as possible be modular, what by appropriate dimensioning of the usable interior of the packaging Product tablets can be easily achieved. Around a simple removal of the tablets from the packaging too enable, it makes sense to package over the above lying open largest area while the packaging unit on the opposite largest area in the Use position is what the best possible stability with brings itself.

For particularly high product protection requirements, the individual tablet-shaped products separately be packaged, for example by a hermetically sealed one Paper or foil wrapping.
