- the object of the present invention is to eliminate the above drawbacks of known devices by proposing a device for fixing an injector. of fuel on an internal combustion engine cylinder head, of the type in which the injector is held partially engaged in a cylindrical housing opening out from the cylinder head on a face thereof perpendicular to the injector by means of a flange spaced from this face and fixed to the cylinder head by two screws perpendicularly crossing this face, two opposite bosses of the flange, turned towards this face, being applied on two at least diametrically opposite bearing zones of the injector and which is characterized in that the bearing zones are produced in a recess opening onto the periphery of a cylindrical portion of the injector and receiving an intermediate part partially emerging from the recess and in that each boss of the flange, outside the cylindrical portion of the injector, is applied to an emerging part of the intermediate piece.

- the cylindrical portion of the cylindrical part 4 of the body of the injector 1 situated above the face 2c of the cylinder head 2 and outside of it comprises a recess 6 opening onto the periphery of this cylindrical portion and constituted by a peripheral groove forming a circular support zone for an intermediate part 7 consisting of a split ring or rod of elastic metal mounted in the peripheral groove 6 by partially projecting therefrom.

Next, the rod 7 is slid over the cylindrical part 4 of the body of the injector 1 until engage in the receiving groove 6. Finally, the flange 3 is lowered with the injector until it comes to bear on the projecting part of the rod 7 and is fixed to the cylinder head 2 by the fixing screws 5 so maintaining the injector 1 in partial engagement in the cylindrical housing 2b of the cylinder head 2.
- the support base 3a of the flange 3 is formed by two bosses which, instead of being directly supported respectively on the two corresponding projecting parts of the rod 7, are supported on two diametrically opposite zones of a ring 8 interposed between the ring 7 and the flange 3.
- the two bosses 3a could alternatively be directly supported on the ring 7.
- the ring 8 may include a circular chamfer internal (not shown) contacting the corresponding circular part of the rod 7.
- the two opposite bosses 3a of the flange 3 are applied respectively on two diametrically opposite support zones of the injector 1 each produced in a radial recess consisting of a blind hole (not shown) receiving a lug 9 serving to support the corresponding boss 3a.
- the fixing device reconciles a reduced size and a good elastic recovery of the forces resulting from different thermal expansions of the injector and of the cylinder head, in particular thanks to the use of the two relatively long screws for fixing the flange, thus ensuring good resistance with moderate tightening of the injector and excellent sealing since the sealing washer R no longer risks being crushed when the injector is tightened by the flange 3.
