  • the sound moderator of a single-barreled shotgun can be made eccentrically, the axis 16 of the body 1 not coinciding with the axis 17 of the barrel 3.
  • the orifices 8 of the deflectors 5 and of the plug 4 may have an increasing diameter from the outlet of the barrel (s) 3 towards the outside of the sound moderator, to allow the free passage of the sheaf of pellets as well as the evacuation of the flock , as indicated by arrows F, while braking the speed of the combustion gases which are one of the main sources of noise.
  • the sound moderator combined with subsonic clay pellet cartridges can reduce noise by around 70%.
