Definitions
- the present invention relates to a parking meter comprising luminous means for indicating anomalies.
- GB-A-1565552 discloses an apparatus comprising light means capable of emitting, each, a light radiation characteristic of a given type of anomalies, said apparatus comprising a module connected to said light means and comprising detection means capable of detecting the emission of said light radiation by each of the light means in order to identify said given type of anomalies and means for transmitting to a recipient unit a message representative of the type anomalies thus identified.
- the present invention finds a particularly application advantageous in the field of parking meters having in particular different colored light emitting diodes to indicate anomalies of a different nature.
- parking meters that include a microprocessor intended, in particular, to receive information anomalies in the operation of various parking meters and to apply an alarm signal to a light emitting diode whose color corresponds to the type of anomaly detected.
- anomalies which are real device malfunctions, i.e. those that deactivate parking meters, for example when the circuit supply is cut, the ticket roll is empty, printer or coin selector no longer works or the piggy bank is full.
- anomalies also mean the situations preceding certain malfunctions but in which parking meters are still able to deliver a ticket, this is particularly the case when the next end of the roll of tickets is detected.
- the microprocessor of the device applies to a red light-emitting diode a periodic signal causing the flashing of said diode, while if an anomaly of the second type is detected the same signal periodic flashing is applied to a diode green light emitting light.
- the flashing of one or the other of the diodes light emitting is identified by personnel responsible for maintenance of the parking meters during surveillance rounds. AT following an intervention ending the anomaly noted, applying the periodic signal to the light emitting diode concerned is deleted and the flashing stops.
- the technical problem to be solved by the subject of this invention is to propose a parking meter comprising means luminous capable of emitting, each, a luminous radiation of color characteristic of a given type of anomaly, time stamp which would ensure efficient maintenance of the parking meters by centralized monitoring, without having to increase staff Staff.
- said parking meter comprises a module connected to said light means and comprising means for detection capable of detecting the operating state of each of the light means to identify said type of anomalies given and means for transmitting a message to a unit representative of the type of anomalies thus identified.
- the parking meter is capable of signaling remotely to said destination unit, the type of anomalies detected directly from the operating state of the light means, light emitting diodes for example which will have been imposed by the parking meter microprocessor.
- the means of detection allow to know if one of the two diodes are blinking and, in which case which.
- the form of the anomaly message sent by the emission means will depend on that of the two diodes, the blinking will have been recognized.
- the recipient unit will then be in measure from a distance which of the two diodes lights flashes, so that you can intervene by result.
- the destination unit can be a fixed central station or a portable receiver with which surveillance and monitoring agents are equipped maintenance.
- said means for detecting said module are optical detectors each associated with a light means, each optical detector being connected to the associated light means by an optical fiber.
- said means of detection of said module are made by electrical connections each associated with a luminous medium.
- the diagram in FIG. 1 relates to a parking meter comprising two light means, here light-emitting diodes D1, D2, each capable of emitting characteristic light radiation of a given type of anomaly.
- the anomalies which completely deactivate the parking meter will be identified by the flashing of a red light-emitting diode D1, this will be the case during a printer failure, a cut power supply, etc., while the flashing of a diode D2 green light emitting light will be significant anomaly which does not affect the immediate functioning of the parking meter, but announces that an anomaly of the first type is on the point of happening, like when it does stay on the roll paper only a limited number of tickets.
- the diodes D1 and D2 are controlled by the microprocessor 10 which manages the entire parking meter, including basic operations consisting of calculating the parking time limit from the sum entered by the user and the current time, and at print the ticket.
- the microprocessor 10 is also connected by terminals referenced from 1 to 6, for example, to the various organs of the apparatus whose anomalies must be taken into account, such as printer, piggy bank, coin selector, etc. when anomaly is detected on one of these organs, the microprocessor 10 applies a signal to the corresponding light emitting diode periodic causing the flashing of said diode and this as long as the cause of the anomaly remains.
- Figure 1 shows that the parking meter is also provided with a module 20 connected to light-emitting diodes D1, D2, the function is to send a message to a recipient unit representative of the type of anomalies after it has been identified by the module 20.
- the anomaly is identified, in the example shown in FIG. 1, using detection means constituted by optical detectors, here phototransistors T1, T2, each associated, to a light-emitting diode D1, D2, each phototransistor being connected to the associated diode by an optical fiber F1, F2.
- detection means constituted by optical detectors, here phototransistors T1, T2, each associated, to a light-emitting diode D1, D2, each phototransistor being connected to the associated diode by an optical fiber F1, F2.
- the signals supplied by the phototransistors T1, T2 are applied to two different terminals 1 ', 2' of a microprocessor 21 of the module 20, which allows to differentiate the types of anomalies observed.
- the microprocessor 21 of the module 20 composes a message representative of said anomaly and transmits it to the destination unit using transmission means such as a modem 22 via a radio link or the switched telephone network.
- said unit recipient can be a central station of the parking meters or a portable receiving device with which the personnel of maintenance during surveillance rounds.
- an identifier of said parking meter a number for example, is stored in module 20, at know here in a read only memory associated with microprocessor 21.
- the message representative of the type of anomalies emitted then contains said ID.
- said module is capable of transmitting a end of fault message.
- said end of anomalies message if necessary contains the identifier of the corresponding parking meter.
- module 20 can be extended by connecting it to other means indicating anomalies such as shocks occurring during physical assaults against timestamps.
