Claims (8)

  1. Tandem warhead (4) with a secondary projectile (1), the secondary projectile (1) being fixed in a tubular section (2) of a casing (3) of the tandem warhead (4),
    and protection (6), against the gases and fumes produced on detonation, shielding the secondary projectile (1) from a hollow charge (8) mounted ahead of the secondary projectile (1),
    characterized in that
    the casing (3) has a conical section (87) with the tubular section (2) which is smaller in diameter being disposed on it,
    a base (88) being provided on the tubular section (2),
    and in that the secondary projectile (1), which is of a smaller calibre than the hollow charge (8), has a circumferential thread (85) in which a thread (86) of the tubular section (2) engages, the secondary projectile (1) resting with initial tension against the base (88),
    and the protection (6) against detonation fumes, in a wedge-shaped annular space (101) formed by the conical section (87) of the casing (3) and by the secondary projectile (1) projecting from the tubular section (2) into this annular space (101), seals the secondary projectile (1), on occurrence of detonation fumes and gases, against the tubular section (2),
    the protection (6) against detonation fumes consisting of a compressible material.
  2. Tandem warhead according to Claim 1,
    characterized in that
    the protection (6) against detonation fumes consists of an elastic plastic, such as PVC, PP, PA, PE, POM or PTFE.
  3. Tandem warhead according to Claim 1,
    characterized in that
    the protection (6) against detonation fumes, for compressing and improving the sealing effect, takes the Form of a wedge in direction of the hollow charge (8).
  4. Tandem warhead according to Claim 1,
    characterized in that
    the protection (6) against detonation fumes rests with its surfaces (93, 94, 98) on the cone surface (95) and on a base surface (96) - lying at right angles to the principal axis (92) of the tandem warhead (4) - of the conical section (87) of the casing (3) and also encircles the secondary projectile (1) by way of an annular sealing lip (97) and an annular supporting surface (98).
  5. Tandem warhead according to Claim 1,
    characterized in that
    the secondary projectile (1) rests against the base (88) with its rear ogive (46) supported over a large area with positive fit.
  6. Tandem warhead according to Claim 1,
    characterized in that
    the thread (86) of the tubular section (2) is provided at the beginning of this tubular section (2), i.e. in the region of the protection (6) against detonation fumes.
  7. Tandem warhead according to Claim 1,
    characterized in that
    the thread (85) of the threaded connection (5) of the casing (3) is located approximately halfway along the length of the secondary projectile (1),
    a narrow annular space (99) following on from the rear of the threaded connection (5), this annular space (99) having a length which is approximately one third of the length of the secondary projectile (1) and being limited at the rear by the base (88).
  8. Tandem warhead according to Claim 1,
    characterized in that
    the casing (3) is formed in one piece with the tubular section (2).
