Definitions
- the present invention relates to a dispensing device and product packaging, this device comprising a container for pressurized storage of said product, fitted with a valve with control rod, and a porous sintered applicator or similar, having an external application surface intended for come in contact; of the user's skin to distribute product.
- Document FR-A-2 713 060 by the applicant describes a device of this type.
- the applicator is carried by a cup in plastic material extended below by a tip to be engaged on the control rod, this nozzle having an internal channel for the passage of the product. The latter leaves the control rod when the valve is open to be channeled through the nozzle and the cup toward the inner side of the applicator, which is opposite the surface external application.
- the comfort of using such a device depends in particular the impression of freshness provided to the user during contact of the applicator with the skin, due in part to the fact that the product has cooled during the relaxation which accompanies its exit from pressurized container. It is also desirable avoid that in the event of prolonged use of the device, product droplets do not flow onto the container or onto the user's hands.
- the cup of the device described in FR-A-2 713 060 presents a depression likely to receive a excess liquid ejected from the control rod and channels substantially radial are provided between the internal face of the cup and inner side of the applicator to ensure good distribution of the product to distribute and evenly supply the external application surface.
- a jet breaker is made in the same goal vis-à-vis the end of the internal channel of the nozzle.
- a device of the type described in FR-A-2 713 060 is of relatively complex construction.
- the object of the invention is to propose a new device for distribution and packaging that is construction simplified while being as comfortable to use as known devices.
- the applicator has a central blind hole allowing its fixing directly on the rod control, the depth of this hole being chosen so as to inject the product in situ into the applicator with substantially axial diffusion of the product towards the center of said external application surface.
- the external application surface is aspherical, generally convex outward, and the dome is arranged so that the product diffuses into the applicator according to a diffusion cone inscribed in a volume delimited by a cone extreme whose generator rests on the periphery of the surface external application and whose apex is located on the axis of the control rod, inside the latter.
- the lateral surface of the applicator extending radially outward and downward said outer surface application does not receive product for a certain period of time time after opening the valve and when used prolongation of the device, causing the appearance of droplets of product at the center of the external application surface, the surface side of the applicator, not saturated with product, remains capable absorb said droplets when they leave through gravity the center of the external application surface, which allows to prevent the product from dripping onto the container or the hands of the user.
- the concentration of the product at the center of the applicator allows the user, holding the applicator by its periphery (which remains for a certain period of time without contribution direct from product after opening the valve as explained more top) actuate the valve to test the device without risking to have his fingers wet by the product.
- a groove annular is provided to further improve the channeling of the product towards the center of the external application surface in delaying the diffusion of the product towards the lateral surface of the applicator.
- the presence of an annular groove open towards the container, on the underside of the applicator, is also advantageous when the control rod is tiltable and the valve used is a valve with lateral push opening on the control rod because it increases the travel maximum angle of the applicator before contact with the container.
- FIG. 1 shows a device 1 for distribution and packaging of a liquid product such as deodorant, in accordance with a first embodiment of the invention.
- This device 1 comprises a container 2, known as itself, of the aerosol can type, symmetrical of revolution in the example of embodiment described around a longitudinal axis X.
- the container 2 has an upper warp-shaped end, provided with an annular groove 3 intended for the latching of a annular bead 4 of a protective cover 5 shaped for cap the upper end of container 2 if there is no use of the device.
- Container 2 has a known valve in itself which we can see in Figure 1 only the means of attachment to the container (shown in the example of embodiment described in the form of a cup 6 set in a opening of the container 2, and the control rod 7.
- the valve equipping the container 2 is of the push-open type command 7.
- the control rod 7 is of axis X and it is traversed internally and axially by a product passage channel and it is forcibly engaged at its emerging end in a hole blind 8 of an applicator 9 consisting of a porous block obtained by sintering of polyethylene microspheres.
- Applicator 9 is soft to the touch and weakly compressible, deforming very little or not when placed in contact with the user's skin.
- the applicator 9 is delimited above by a surface external application 10 intended to come into contact with the skin of the user, presenting in the exemplary embodiment describes a aspherical shape, slightly domed, convex outwards.
- the surface 10 is connected (without forming a projecting edge) by its periphery, circular centered on the X axis, with a lateral surface 11, cylindrical of revolution in the embodiment described around of the X axis.
- the applicator 9 is delimited below by a flat surface 12 perpendicular to the X axis, at the center of which opens the hole 8. The lower end of the latter is chamfered to define a conical mouthpiece 13 facilitating the insertion of the control rod 7 into the bore 8 during the mounting the applicator 9 on the latter.
- the insertion length l of the control rod 7 in the applicator 9, that is to say the depth of the blind bore 8 in the embodiment described, is chosen so as to that the product leaving the control rod 7 is injected in situ into the applicator 9 and diffuses mainly axially towards the external application surface 10.
- the distance l is greater than or equal to half the diameter external d of the control rod 7 and the product diffuses into the applicator 9 according to a diffusion cone D inscribed in a volume delimited by a cone 14 resting on the periphery of the external application surface 10 and the top of which is located on the X axis in the vicinity of the upper end edge of the control rod 7.
- the product ejected by the latter diffuses mainly towards the top of the external application surface 10, that is to say -to say to its central region, and does not reach the lateral region of the applicator 9 until later, after a certain period of time.
- the lateral surface 11 therefore remains product-free and retains an entire absorption capacity to absorb possible drops of liquid having pearled at the top of the external application surface 10 (the device 1 being optionally inclined relative to the vertical) and having flowed by gravity onto the external surface of the applicator 9. This is to prevent drops of product from flowing over the entire height of the side wall 11 and do not fall onto the container or onto the user's hands, which guarantees comfortable use of the device 1 in all circumstances.
- FIG. 2 shows a device 1 'conforming to a second embodiment of the invention.
- This device 1 'differs from that previously described by the shape of the applicator, referenced here 9 ′, having an annular groove 15 and by the type of valve used, to opening by lateral push on the control rod 7.
- the groove ring 15 has a flared section towards the container and a bottom flat, as shown in Figure 2 and on the one hand allows a significant angular movement of the applicator 9 'around an axis of rotation perpendicular to the X axis for the opening of the valve, the cup 6 can extend into the groove 15 when the applicator is tilted, and on the other hand defines a region annular 16 of reduced thickness between the bottom 17 and the surface external application 10, making it more difficult to distribute the radially outward and delaying the saturation with product of the lateral surface 11, to keep at the latter its full capacity to absorb droplets of product likely to reach it when the device 1 'is used for a long time.
- the mouth of the blind bore 8 is located substantially in the same plane as the radially lower edge outer 18 of applicator 9.
