Definitions
- the present invention relates to a composition incapacitating, intended to be used in particular under aerosol form, for the defense of persons and goods.
- CBM or CS orthochlorobenzal malononitrile
- CBM or CS orthochlorobenzylidene
- compositions produce very little effect on an aggressive person under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or on dogs.
- irritants used are products of which are not readily biodegradable, and whose the effect is persistent because they permeate the clothes of the targeted person or the premises where they are used. This poses problems for the forces of police during the arrest of a person after use of these gases, since the police force may themselves be inconvenienced by the product residual.
- capsicum oleoresin has a relatively low capsaicin content, which limits the efficiency of existing products, and increases their price if you are looking for acceptable efficiency.
- the devices for implementing the known compositions are limited to aerosols of a range of a few meters, the use of which is only appropriate in a limited number of situations.
- the invention aims to propose a composition having an incapacitating effect of a extreme efficiency, while using only natural constituents, fully biodegradable.
- Another object of the invention is to propose a composition having a very broad spectrum of action, and retaining in particular its effectiveness on people under the influence of alcohol or various drugs, or on animals.
- Another object of the invention is to propose a composition without side effects for people exposed to it, and whose persistence in clothes or in the environment is negligible.
- Another object of the invention is to propose a economical composition to manufacture and easy to set up artwork.
- the subject of the invention is a incapacitating composition containing at least one principle incapacitating active, as defined in claim 1, based on a synergistic mixture of piperine and capsaicin.
- composition according to the invention can be presented in several forms, in particular in the form of a solution of the active ingredients and, where appropriate, the solvent coupling, the solution then being able to be projected to a target using a conditioning device and / or appropriate projection.
- the composition is in the form of a powder impregnated with active ingredients, and able to be projected towards a target.
- the composition is associated with a powder, and the whole is dispersed in an immiscible liquid, so that the projection of the powder and composition is carried out by projecting the dispersing liquid.
- Pepper essential oil is obtained by hydrodistillation of dried pepper.
- an oleoresin is produced from ground pepper berries, mixed with solvents such as alcohol, acetone or ether.
- Solvent separation produces a pepper oleoresin, which contains varieties of piperidides, such as piperine and chavicin, which are isomers of the condensed formula C 17 H 19 NO 3 , or the piperettine of condensed formula C 19 H 21 O 3 N.
- composition according to the invention uses piperine, which is almost insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol, acetic acid, ether or chloroform. Distilled with soda lime, it gives a volatile alkaloid: piperidine (C 5 H 11 N) and piperic acid (C 12 H 10 O 4 ).
- Piperine is obtained from several species of peppers, from the family Piperaceae, in which are found in proportions of 3 to 10% in weight. Piperine is found in oil in particular essential black pepper grown in Madagascar, India, in Sri Lanka, the Philippines and Brazil. The yield in essential oil is 1.6 to 2.9%.
- composition according to the invention also contains capsaicin, which comes from a chili extract.
- Capsaicin has the condensed chemical formula: C 18 H 27 NO 3 .
- Capsaicin is obtained from the extraction with acetone of capsicums of the Solanaceae family, dried and ground, in particular of the species Capsicum Frutescens L. or garden peppers, and Capsicum annuum L. , or rabid peppers. These varieties are grown in all tropical and warm temperate regions, especially in India and Japan, where the yield of capsaicin is 4 to 8% by weight of the chili pepper treated.
- the active ingredients described above based on pepper and chili extracts can be mixed with an impregnating solution acting as a solvent for coupling, so that the irritant effect of piperine, of piperidine and capsaicin is enhanced by an effect of synergy.
- the coupling solvent avoiding insolubility, allows a homogeneous mixture of constituents at room temperature, exhibiting the effect maximum incapacitant sought.
- the coupling solvent is consisting of an odorless to slightly odorous material, consisting in particular of an apolar, anhydrous liquid, containing an antioxidant, with programmed evaporation rate.
- a glycol ether, or a component having a hydrophilic pole and a lipophilic pole on the same molecule for example, a glycol ether, or a component having a hydrophilic pole and a lipophilic pole on the same molecule.
- the composition has irritating, watery properties or suffocating, which generate a panic phenomenon uncontrolled which disorients the aggressor (s), who are then incapable of any effective and reasoned action. His action persists for up to thirty minutes. This action also works on people with the influence of alcohol or drugs, as well as animals.
- composition is neither deadly nor carcinogenic at the doses normally used. Being a product natural, it is ecological by definition and biodegradable.
- the active principle is biodegradable by nature and does not persist in textiles on which it is sprayed. If necessary, objects in contact with the active ingredient can be decontaminated with ethyl or isopropyl alcohol to 50% by volume, or using non-surface active agents ionic or anionic in aqueous solution.
- composition is stored from preferably protected from light and moisture.
- nitrogen conditioning allows optimize the shelf life.
- composition according to the invention benefits from a great flexibility of implementation, so that its use can be adapted to many situations defense, or a theater of military operations.
- the composition may be in the form of a solution of the active principles and, where appropriate, of the coupling solvent, more or less concentrated, and packaged in a conditioning and / or spraying device to be sprayed towards a human or animal target.
- the device comprises for this purpose a means of projecting the solution against a human or animal target, in contact with which the incapacitating composition is distributed and produces its effect.
- An example of a suitable projection device consists of an aerosol containing the solution of the composition, and a propellant, consisting of a liquefied gas, flammable or not, preferably a gas without harmful effects on the environment, such as 134A or 1,1,1,2 tetrafluoroethane, or else a compressed gas of the nitrogen (N 2 ), nitrous oxide (N 2 O) or carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) type.
- a propellant consisting of a liquefied gas, flammable or not, preferably a gas without harmful effects on the environment, such as 134A or 1,1,1,2 tetrafluoroethane, or else a compressed gas of the nitrogen (N 2 ), nitrous oxide (N 2 O) or carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) type.
- the aerosol is equipped with a valve and a high flow diffuser producing a mist of range of several meters.
- the composition is simply sprayed using any spray bottle suitable for desired flow and range and generating fog liquid droplets, such as a small spray bottle activated by manual pumping for short ranges, or a projection lance supplied at from a container such as a tank or tank, to higher bit rates and spans.
- a small spray bottle activated by manual pumping for short ranges, or a projection lance supplied at from a container such as a tank or tank, to higher bit rates and spans.
- Another variant of the invention consists in conditioning the solution of the composition in microbeads, capsules or capsules, and to project these containers towards the surface of the target or they burst into spreading the composition.
- Capsules, capsules or microbeads can themselves be packaged prior in a longer range projection means, like for example a projectile of firearm or not, of so that the charge of the projectile bursts to the point impact by distributing its load on the target.
- composition can be in the form of a powder granulate obtained from aggregates of the composition incapacitating, or in the form of an inert powder associated with the incapacitating composition.
- the grains of powder are either coated with the composition or the composition in solution form is adsorbed by the powder, which consequently is impregnated with the composition.
- the advantage of an implementation using a powder is that the powder particles can cover, when projected, a surface important, or a large volume in which are found target people or animals.
- the impregnated powder is suitable for being sprayed to the target by means of a conditioning device and / or suitable projection, which consists of example by means of pyrotechnic projection and / or smoke.
- the carrier powder used is in particular a powder of mineral origin with controlled fine grain size, with a specific water-repellent and anti-clumping treatment.
- the support powder can thus be chosen from a variety of inert powders, especially of quality pharmaceutical or cosmetic.
- talc about 20%
- colloidal silica about 20%
- calcium carbonate about 60%
- the granulated powder or the powder impregnated inert is encapsulated in microspheres or capsules which serve as a charge for ammunition such than a grenade, the bursting of which spreads the load, and therefore the disabling composition, on a zone or in a volume.
- the incapacitating composition is adsorbed in the powder, and the assembly formed by the powder impregnated by the incapacitating composition is suspended in a diluent consisting of an immiscible liquid.
- a diluent consisting of an immiscible liquid.
- projection means also much an aerosol than a spray or a projectile containing the composition in suspension.
- projection of the liquid is at first relatively precise and directive, then in contact with the target, the powdery shape allows to cover an area or a large volume.
- the proportion by weight of the composition incapacitating in the solution or powder may be between a few% and 96%.
- the proportion by weight of the incapacitating composition by relative to the total weight of the carrier powder or impregnation solution may vary depending on specific applications, and will be readily determined by the skilled person. The same goes for concentration of the composition in the aerosol, a concentration between 5 and 10% by weight of the active mixture providing all the desired effects, although higher concentrations can be expected.
- the composition incapacitante according to the invention has an effectiveness daunting. It causes an immediate rubering action, causing the withdrawal and inactivation of the person or the affected animal.
- the properties of the composition make it very suitable, in particular for anti-aggression products.
- the composition is suitable for loading of aerosols, large capacity tanks or riot grenades or powder dispersers. But the composition can also be used for weapons for military use.
