Definitions
- the present invention relates to protection devices, for electrical transformers or power inductors.
- Electric transformers or power inductors are generally enclosed in an airtight casing and embedded in a liquid dielectric.
- the hermetic casing is provided with an upper opening adapter, allowing the crankcase to be filled with the dielectric liquid, and allowing the adaptation of a protection device.
- the protective device must deliver information alarm type in the event of a drop in the level of the liquid dielectric in the housing, if there is too much pressure inside the housing, or case of abnormal rise in temperature of the liquid dielectric.
- Document US 4 192 174 A describes a protective device for transformer, comprising a base shaped to be fixed to the transformer housing around an upper adapter hole, with a dip tube with closed lower end and upper end integral with the base, with a tunnel for the passage of the dielectric liquid and its penetration into two transparent upper tubes connected to the tunnel and containing floats sliding in the tubes.
- One of the floats carries a magnet.
- a field-sensitive detector magnetic is housed outside and at the lower end of one of the transparent tubes to detect the level of liquid dielectric.
- a box, containing the electrical circuits is placed laterally next to transparent tubes, and is connected by an intermediate tube to the tube plunger that contains a temperature sensor.
- a pressure sensor housed in the housing, is connected by a tube to the interior space of one of the transparent tubes, to capture the pressure inside the casing. The housing obscures the vision of the floats on a portion of the periphery of the transparent tubes.
- the problem proposed by the present invention is to design a new protection device that is both autonomous, reliable and robust, providing an accessible direct visual indication over 360 ° of the liquid dielectric level, a passing information pressure threshold, threshold overshoot information temperature, and information of excessive drop in level of liquid dielectric below a level threshold.
- the device must also be of reduced cost, and of reduced bulk.
- the invention aims to ensure the electromagnetic compatibility of the device.
- the positions length of the detector in the dip tube and the magnet in the annular float are chosen so that when the level of liquid dielectric is higher than said predetermined level, the detector is in the maximum magnetic field created by the magnet and is found in working position, and when the dielectric level liquid is below said predetermined level, the detector is at the deviation from the maximum magnetic field created by the magnet and is in the rest position.
- the annular float carries in in addition to a soft iron coaxial tube, extending the magnet downwards, and forming a cage protecting the flexible blade detector against fields transient magnetic products produced by the transformer or inductor.
- the magnet is a ring ferrite ring.
- the magnet is embedded in the lower region of the annular float. This improves the balance of the float.
- the base is a part tubular, provided with a lower peripheral crown shaped to be supported in and around the upper adaptation orifice of the casing, and provided with an upper peripheral crown receiving the edge lower of transparent tubular intermediate part.
- the diameter of the crown upper peripheral and tubular intermediate part transparent can advantageously be larger than that of the orifice upper crankcase, so that the tubular intermediate part transparent can have a greater volume for a given height, or may have a height less than a given volume. It is thus possible to reduce the overall height of the device, while retaining a sufficient internal volume to appreciate the variations in volume of the liquid dielectric during operation.
- the protection device comprises a dip tube 1 the closed lower end 2 of which is adapted to enter a upper adaptation orifice 7 provided in the casing 6 of a transformer or inductor to be protected.
- the dip tube 1 protrudes below a base 3 shaped to be fixed to the casing 6 around of said upper adaptation orifice 7.
- the base 3 is a part tubular, comprising a central tunnel 4 for passage and maintenance of the dip tube 1, and of the peripheral lights 5 for the passage of the liquid dielectric contained in the casing 6.
- the base 3 is provided with a lower peripheral crown 8 shaped to be supported in and around the upper adaptation orifice 7 of the casing 6, to which it is retained by hooking elements such as hooking lugs 9 tightened by bolts 10.
- a gasket can be advantageously housed in an annular groove 11 provided on the underside of the lower peripheral crown 8.
- the base 3 also comprises a peripheral crown upper 12, of diameter larger than the peripheral crown lower 8 and larger than the diameter of the upper orifice adapter 7 of housing 6.
- the protective device further includes a housing upper 15, preferably made of transparent material, the wall of which lower 19 is adapted to receive in a sealed manner and to maintain the open upper portion 16 of the dip tube 1.
- the protection comprises a transparent tubular intermediate part 17, letting appear according to all its circumference the elements which it contains.
- the transparent tubular intermediate part 17 is connected so watertight around the base of the base 3.
- the diameter of the intermediate part transparent tubular 17 is larger than that of the upper orifice adapter 7 of housing 6.
- the transparent tubular intermediate part 17 is also tightly connected to the upper case 15. In the modes of shown embodiment, sealing is ensured by the fact that the lower portion 151 of the upper housing 15 and the intermediate part transparent tubular 17 are formed of a one-piece assembly.
- Wall lower 19 of the upper housing 15 forms an intermediate wall sealing between the interior space of the upper housing 15 and the interior space of the transparent tubular intermediate part 17.
- a filling tube 20, closed by an upper plug 21 removable, is connected to the upper end of the intermediate part transparent tubular 17.
- the filling tube 20 thus allows the filling of the casing 6 with the liquid dielectric.
- the plug 21 can advantageously be equipped with a valve trap type 30, allowing the possible sampling of gas.
- An annular float 22, carrying at least one magnet 23, is slidably mounted around the dip tube 1 inside the part transparent tubular intermediate 17.
- the float 22 is carried by the liquid dielectric contained in the casing 6, the critical level of the liquid dielectric being chosen so that the float 22 is in intermediate position in the transparent tubular intermediate part 17. In normal position, the float 22 is pressed under the wall lower 19 of the upper housing 15.
- a detector 45 with a flexible blade sensitive to the magnetic field of the magnet 23 is housed in the dip tube 1 in a fixed position intermediate, possibly adjustable, in the intermediate part transparent tubular 17.
- the detector 45 makes an electrical contact dry which switches when the annular float 22 reaches a level predetermined along the dip tube 1.
- the dry electrical contact is connected to level output terminals in a terminal block 31 of the housing higher 15.
- the protection device further includes two threshold temperature sensors 25, 26 and one continuous temperature sensor 27, each formed of a bulb capillary end, the corresponding end bulb being engaged in the lower end 2 of the dip tube 1.
- the corresponding capillary longitudinally passes through the dip tube 1, and exits into the housing upper 15 to a sensor base 32 or 33 or 36.
- sensor base 32 or 33 makes a dry electrical contact which switches when the temperature detected reaches a predetermined temperature threshold.
- the dry contact of temperature is connected to respective temperature output terminals 34 or 35 in the upper case 15.
- the base 36 of the sensor continuous temperature 27 includes a temperature indication dial.
- the two threshold temperature sensors 25 and 26 provide two dry electrical contacts switching according to two distinct thresholds of temperature.
- the protection device also comprises at least one threshold pressure sensor 28, housed in the upper housing 15 and connected by a lower wall passage 19 of the upper housing 15 to the interior space of the transparent tubular intermediate part 17, to capture the pressure inside the casing 6.
- the threshold pressure 28 is suitable for making a dry contact which switches when said pressure reaches a predetermined level.
- the contact dry pressure electric is connected to pressure output terminals in terminal block 31 of upper case 15.
- the dip tube 1 is secured at its upper end 16 to the lower wall 19 of the upper housing 15, in a sealed manner.
- the housing upper 15 has a lower portion 151 forming, with the part transparent tubular intermediate 17, a one-piece assembly.
- the part 151 is open upwards, and its opening is closed by a removable upper portion 152 forming a cover.
- the upper case 15 is advantageously transparent.
- the threshold pressure sensors 28 and threshold temperature sensors 25 and 26 are adjustable by visually identifiable position adjustment elements, whose position can thus be seen from the outside through the wall of the upper case 15.
- the dip tube 1 participates in the mechanical connection between the successive stages of the device.
- the upper peripheral ring 12 has, on its face upper, a concentric annular groove 13 receiving a seal sealing 14.
- the lower edge 18 of the tubular intermediate part transparent 17 engages in the concentric annular groove 13 of the upper peripheral ring 12 and compresses the seal 14.
- the dip tube 1 has a ring at its lower end 2 external thread allowing the adaptation of a tightening nut 29.
- the tightening the nut 29, which comes to bear against the base part 3 surrounding the central tunnel 4, ensures the axial clamping of the base 3 with the transparent tubular intermediate part 17 and the upper casing 15.
- the protection of the level detector against magnetic fields transients produced by the transformer or the inductor to be protected is provided by a protective cage.
- the annular float 22 further carries a coaxial tube 24 made of soft iron, extending downward the magnet 23 as illustrated in FIG. 1.
- connection mechanical between the base 3 and the tubular intermediate part transparent 17 is ensured by clamping screws 50 distributed according to the periphery and ensuring tight axial tightening, with seal, between the upper peripheral ring 12 of the base 3 and a ring corresponding lower peripheral 51 of the intermediate part transparent tubular 17.
- the protection of the level detector against magnetic fields transients produced by the transformer or the inductor to be protected is ensured by providing particular longitudinal positions of the detector 45 in the dip tube 1 and magnet 23 in the float annular 22.
- these relative longitudinal positions are chosen so that when the liquid dielectric level is higher than the predetermined level causing the detector to switch, as illustrated in FIG. 4, the float 22 is located in the area upper part of the transparent tubular intermediate part 17, and the detector 45 is in the maximum magnetic field created by the magnet 23, the detector 45 then being in the working position, that is to say in the position in which the magnetic field produces the approximation of the respective electrical contacts.
- the magnet 23 is a ring ferrite ring, and is embedded in the lower area of the float ring 22.
- the detector 45 is subjected to a magnetic field of high intensity created by magnet 23, so that any induction interference generated by a current flowing through the transformer or the inductor to be protected has no significant action on the electrical state of detector 45. There is therefore no risk of inadvertent switching of detector 45, and electromagnetic compatibility with the environment is realized.
- FIG. 6 the state of the detector 45 is shown in normal operating position: under the effect of the magnetic field of strong intensity produced by the magnet 23 which is then at nearby, a fixed magnetizable blade 52 attracts a contact blade flexible 53, producing a working contact.
