A Jacquard mechanism for forming the shed in weaving machines, of the type in which the alternating vertical actuation of the two series of horizontal heald shafts (20) is operated from an input shaft (4) to which a continuous rotary motion is imparted, characterised in that the input shaft (4) transmits an alternating rotary motion via a single mechanism of cams (6-7-8-9-10) to two longitudinal shafts (11-12) which are disposed coaxially one inside the other and are provided at each of their ends with two pairs of radial levers (13, 14), selectively connected to the heald shafts (20).
  2. A mechanism according to claim 1, characterised in that the outer shaft (12) has holes (12a) cut into it for the passage and angular deflection of the levers (13) integral with the inner shaft (11).
  3. A mechanism according to either one of claims 1 and 2, characterised in that the levers (13, 14) are connected by vertical links (15) to lateral sets of horizontal bars (16) which are guided on the one hand by means of fixed lateral slides (17) and on the other hand by means of connecting rods (18) coupled to said bars and to the frame of the mechanism, said bars forming a support for the heald shafts (20).
  4. A mechanism according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the frame thereof comprises two vertical plates (1 and 2) forming supports for the ends of the coaxial shafts (11, 12) and being themselves supported by two longitudinal beams (21).
  5. A mechanism according to claim 4, characterised in that the plates (1, 2) are connected together by two panels (24) to which are fixed crosspieces (23) defining the compartments for the rows of conventional hooks (C) with which the mechanism is provided.
