- the advantages that can be achieved with the invention are, in particular, that the water vapor is separated from the exhaust air by using a membrane module and that heat is economically recovered by vapor compression. No separate heating for heating the process air flow is required for the method for drying laundry according to the invention. The amount of heat required to heat the process air is generated solely by compression of the separated water vapor and the subsequent condensation of the compressed water vapor, which then serves to heat the actual process air stream via the heat exchanger.
