Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a bedding set, comprising two bases respectively lower and upper, superimposed and foldable, the two box springs being articulated on a support structure, preferably fixed to a partition, along a horizontal axis, the axes being parallel and substantially parallel to the partition.
  • the box springs are likely to take two extreme positions, namely a position vertical folded down called storage, a horizontal use position, or the two bed bases are parallel to each other.
  • the invention is more particularly of the type in which the box springs are articulated along one of their longitudinal sides.
  • This type of bedding set commonly known as bunk beds, raises difficulties regarding reliability and safety, whether in folded down position or in horizontal use position.
  • the first known means consist of provide an articulated foot at the base of the lower base, and a set of links articulated on the upper box spring. This type of device has drawbacks.
  • the set of rods and the foot are aesthetically pleasing doubtful.
  • the set of links is not likely to present a foolproof reliability, except to oversize it, with the unsightly consequences and additional costs that result.
  • the articulated lower leg represents a significant additional cost, taking into account of the folding mechanism necessary to ensure the flap of the foot on the bed base in the folded position of the bottom bed base.
  • this guy of known use results in significant stress on the support structure, and therefore fixing members of the structure on the wall.
  • a second type of known means consists in blocking the box springs by leverage, along the side near the bulkhead.
  • the arm lever thus formed by the fulcrum, the hinge pin and the point application of the weight of the lying person is relatively important at the expense of reliability, except once again to be oversized by part of the hinge pin, and secondly, the stop means.
  • the present invention proposes to remedy the disadvantages of the devices of the prior art, by proposing a set bedding with bunk beds, provided with means capable of holding reliable the two beds in horizontal position, without affecting the aesthetics of the whole, and so as to present reduced manufacturing costs, while allowing ease of installation to be used.
  • all of bedding comprising two bases respectively lower and upper overlapping folding, articulated on a support structure, each with a horizontal axis, between a vertical folded position and a position horizontal use, of the type comprising means support in horizontal position of the upper box springs and lower, is characterized in that said means of support consist of a single amount provided with removable fixing on each of said box springs, said amount being able to bear on the ground.
  • said amount consists of a ladder.
  • the fixing members are tenon / mortise type.
  • the fixing members for the upper box spring also have hooks
  • a notch is provided in said amount, in a form complementary to the structure receiver of the lower base.
  • the lower fixing member also features a lockable latch system, comprising a male member movable between a position retracted and an engagement position in a light corresponding.
  • a lockable latch system comprising a male member movable between a position retracted and an engagement position in a light corresponding.
  • the latch is provided on said amount and light is provided on the structure of the box spring inferior.
  • the latch is provided on one of the ladder crosspieces, and the two ladder uprights are each provided with a hook whose concavity is facing downward, and complementary in shape to the structure of the upper box spring.
  • the bedding set of the invention is of the type comprising a support structure 1, of the type known per se, and comprising a rear panel 2, and two lateral flanks 3 and 4, transverse to the rear panel 2.
  • Upper 5 and middle slats 6, as well as a bottom plate 7 are provided transversely between the two lateral sides 3 and 4, against the rear panel 2.
  • the support structure 1 is fixed to the partition or on the wall of the room where the bedding set is located, by any known means.
  • a upper box spring 8 and lower bed base 9 rectangular and whose longitudinal axis is parallel to the partition (i.e. parallel to the rear panel), and orthogonal to the lateral flanks 3 and 4.
  • the box springs 8 and 9 are each articulated along a longitudinal axis horizontal and parallel to the rear panel 2, on the lateral flanks 3 and 4.
  • the axes are represented by the references I-I for the upper axis and II-II for the lower axis.
  • the articulation means are not shown more in detail being known in themselves.
  • means forming a stop can be provided to limit the upper 8 and lower 9 bed base travel and keep them in a horizontal position.
  • Guardrails 10 and 11 respectively, shaped general of L, are provided and fixed on the box spring superior.
  • the guardrails delimit, on their parts longitudinal (opposite and parallel to the rear wall 2 of the structure 1) an opening for the passage of a person and the latter's access to the box spring 8.
  • the upper 8 and lower 9 bed bases include each a front longitudinal member, referenced 12 and 13 respectively.
  • the front side members 12 and 13 each include gripping means, such as handle or the like allowing the user to grasp the spar, and therefore the box spring to switch it to or from the folded position, these means being known in themselves and bearing the respective references 14 and 15.
  • Support and support means for the box springs between them and by the ground are provided in the form, according to the embodiment shown, a ladder bearing the general reference 16, and described above more in detail with reference to Figure 2.
  • Ladder 16 is made up of two uprights longitudinal sides 17 and 18, connected by crosspieces 19, 20, 21 and 22.
  • the uprights and crosspieces are parallelepipedic section, and preferably in wood.
  • each upright 17, 18 is provided a notch lower 23, and upper 24 (upright 17) and 25, 26 (amount 18).
  • the notches 23 to 26 are of section quadrangular. Each amount thus has two notches 23 and 25 respectively, arranged in the lower part of the uprights and two notches upper 24 and 26, on the side of the upper extremities of said amounts.
  • the notches 23 to 26 are shaped complementary to the front side members 12 and 13 of the box springs upper 8 and lower 9, so that the notches constitute a recess capable of receiving said stringers.
  • the upper notches 24 and 26 are associated with hooks 27 and 28 respectively whose concavity is facing down.
  • the hooks consist of example of legs in general L shape, of which the end of a branch is bent, and fixed by screwing for example on the bottom of the notch corresponding.
  • a temporary fixing member 29 is provided on the cross member 21 located at a slightly higher level by relative to the level of the lower notches 23 and 25.
  • the fixing member 29 is described in more detail in reference to Figure 3, showing a larger ladder the fixing member 29, the cross member 21 on which it is mounted, and the front spar 13 of the bed base lower 9.
  • the fixing member 29 consists of a latch comprising a guide 30 constituted by a metal tab generally in the shape of an omega and fixed on the front 31 of the cross member 21.
  • the latch comprises a slide 32 provided with an upper gripping end 33 (under shape of sphere for example), and whose end lower 34 is bevelled, on an inclined plane descending towards the box spring.
  • hole 35 On the front spar 13 of the base 9, there is provided a hole 35, covered with a metal plate 36 and delimiting an opening corresponding to hole 35.
  • a return spring (not shown) is provided at the interior of the slide 32 to hold it in position as shown in Figure 3, i.e. protruding from guide 30. Traction up the slide allows to retract the part lower 34 beveled.
  • the first step is during installation of the bedding assembly to be mounted on structure 1, that is to say the rear wall 2 and the lateral sides 3 and 4, assemble them to each other, fix them to the partition or wall of the room where the set of bedding, and this in a known manner and not shown. Then, we put the rails 10 and 11 on the upper box spring.
  • the box springs 8 and 9 are then put in place articulated along the axes of articulation I-I and II-II.
  • the box springs 8 and 9 are thus likely to tilt from a vertical folded position to a horizontal position of use.
  • Mattresses 40 and 41 are arranged on each box spring.
  • Box springs 8 and 9 are kept in position horizontal by means-stop of the box springs, on the side of structure 1. These stop means are known in themselves and not shown. They are not sufficient a priori to allow maintenance reliably, and especially bear the weight of users.
  • the last step is to set up scale 16, constituting a means of support, support and of joining the box springs together.
  • the scale is maintained in a sub-vertical position, i.e. slightly or very slightly tilted, so that the upper end of the scale is closer than the lower end, relative to a vertical plane.
  • the ladder approach movement is continued until the upper end touches the side member before 12 of the upper base 8, and more particularly so that the front spar 12 of the upper base 8 comes into engagement with hooks or fingers 27 or 28, while allowing the engagement of the beam 12 in the corresponding notches 24 and 26.
  • the lower end is in contact or slightly offset from the front spar 13 of the bed base lower, and the scale is always slightly tilted.
  • the movement of the ladder is continued according to a rotational movement, bringing the end closer together lower of the front spar 13 of the lower base 9, until the beam 13 comes to be embedded in the housings constituted by the lower notches 23 and 25 provided on the uprights of scale 16.
  • Blocking and locking are reinforced by to latch 29, and more particularly by penetration of the slide 32 in the light 35.
  • the bevel of the end 34 of the slide 32 allows erasing the slide 32 (going up) when approaching and contacting the end 34 on the beam 13, until it is in place in the corresponding notches on the scale. This allows the facing the slide and the hole 35, and therefore the sliding down again under the effect of return spring, of the slide 32 in the housing 35.
  • the ladder is thus firmly held and fixed by relative to the side members 12 and 13, and the scale relates to the floor by the lower ends of the side uprights 17 and 18.
  • the bedding set is thus thus firmly maintained, the two box springs connected to each other, and the while resting on the ground.
  • the reverse maneuver to clear the ladder is done first by lifting the slider 32 from the latch 29, slightly pulling the ladder from below (in a substantially horizontal direction opposite the bed), this which releases the spar 13 from the lower notches 23 and 25, and slightly lifting the ladder and clearing upwards for one hand, clearing the spar 12 of the upper notches 24 and 26, and other hand, release the side member 12 from the hooks 27 and 28.
  • the ladder is then placed for example on one of the box springs, and these are then folded back against the rear wall 2.
  • the ladder is removable, load-bearing, and lockable.
  • the invention therefore provides all the advantages indicated in the preamble, namely simplicity of installation, reduction in manufacturing cost, reliability, aesthetics while providing a ladder for the user.
  • the invention is not limited to the modes of realization described and represented but includes at otherwise all variants.
