Abstract

PCT No. PCT/EP94/03835 Sec. 371 Date Nov. 21, 1996 Sec. 102(e) Date Nov. 21, 1996 PCT Filed Nov. 19, 1994 PCT Pub. No. WO95/13980 PCT Pub. Date May 26, 1995A winding machine for winding webs, such as paper webs which may be longitudinally slit, has two support rollers (TW1 and TW2) that carry the roll being produced (R; R'; R'', R''') in a winding bed formed between the support rollers. Both support rollers have elastic casings (M1 and M2) which are however deformable to a different extent. One of the support rollers is partially surrounded by the web during winding. In order to further optimize the winding quality, even in the case of heavy wound web rolls, the support roller (M1) subjected to the highest total load, that results both from static and dynamic loads during winding, has the most elastically deformable casing. Such a winding machine is preferably developed so that the space (DR) delimited by both support rollers (TW1 and TW2) and the already partially produced wound web roll (R) is sealed as much as possible at its ends and from below. An overpressure can be generated in the space (DR) for relieving the inherent weight of the roll (R). This combination of measures substantially prevent undesirable inclusion of air.

Description

The invention relates to a winding machine for winding, of possibly longitudinally divided webs, preferably paper webs, with the features of the preamble of claim 1.

In order to achieve a winding result that is as uniform as possible, ie a roller structure that is as uniform as possible, and to minimize winding errors in the case of rolls that are becoming ever heavier to be wound, it is known to provide at least one of the preferably two support rollers with an elastically deformable jacket. The possible combinations are described in DE 92 04 667 U. According to this publication, the best winding results should be achieved if the following combination of features is realized for such a roller arrangement:
  • The changing bed is made up exclusively of the two support rollers,
  • the second support roller in the web running direction has a jacket which is much more deformable than the jacket of the first support roller in the web running direction,
  • the second support roller in the direction of web travel is lowered relative to the first support roller in the direction of web travel, so that a plane through the axes of the two support rollers forms an angle with the horizontal.

It has been found that this known roller arrangement only in exceptional cases really satisfactory winding results enables.

Proceeding from this, the object of the invention is to improve a generic winding machine to the effect that the winding quality is further optimized even with large roll weights.

To solve this problem, a winding machine with the features of claim 1 is proposed.

The invention recognized for the first time that the dynamic load on the roller when winding when setting the compliance or rigidity of the support roller surface is taken into account must become. It has been shown that the dynamic and total load resulting from static load the incoming train partially wrapped, d. H. in the direction of web travel first support roller is generally relatively higher than that of the other carrier roller.

Another significant improvement in the winding result can be achieved in that the web running direction second support roller in the area of their touched by the web Surface has a relatively higher coefficient of friction than that corresponding surface of the first in the direction of web travel Carrier roller. Especially in combination with the feature of Claim 1 or 2 can be determined by the size of the tensioner or relieving the paper web on the outer roll surface set or specify in an optimal manner. Especially such an embodiment is preferred in which the Weight load of the second support roller in the direction of web travel compared to the weight load in the direction of web travel first carrier roller is particularly small.

According to a further embodiment of the invention, by the support rollers and already partially manufactured wrap limited space over the between the Carrier rolls formed gap with a gas pressure in the rest to act in a known manner and thus a discharge to cause the dead weight of the winding (claim 4). It it goes without saying that for this purpose especially the forehead of the pressurized space sealed in a suitable manner so that the relief pressure can build up. Such a so-called airlift is for double carrier roller rollers with relatively inelastic carrier roller surfaces long known u. a. from the applicant's US-A-3,346,209 as well as US-A-3 497 151, DE-C-1 047 001, the DE-C-1 111 496 and DE-U-92 01 791.

In these known airlift devices for double carrier roller rollers the important thing is to be as even as possible Gap between the surface of the already wound Roll and the support roller wrapped by the fed web to achieve, because otherwise the pressure relief fluid pulled in by and between the web to be wrapped and the wound roll is included.

The invention has recognized that this gap is only even then can be obtained if the web to be wound is sufficient is porous to penetrate the compressed air allow. In most cases there are irregularities along the surface of the roll already wound the line of contact to the wrapped roller extremely negative on the amount of pressure relief air drawn in out. In the combination according to the invention leads to the flexibility of the sheathing supplied by the Web wrapped support roller so that the roller surface along the line of contact with the already wound roll to the waviness of the roll in this line of contact adjusts. This causes possible air intake gaps between the drawn web and the wound Role minimized and thus the drawn air to a tolerable Measure (quantity) reduced. - It goes without saying that the combination of an air lift with a compliant sheathing of the wrapped support roller too can be used most advantageously if the non-wrapped one (second) support roller a hard one instead of one compliant, encased.

The aforementioned components to be used according to the invention are subject to their size, shape, material selection and technical conception no special exceptions, so that those known in the respective field of application Unreservedly apply selection criteria can.

Further details, features and advantages of the item the invention emerge from the following description the accompanying drawing, in which - by way of example - a preferred one Embodiment of a device according to the invention is shown.

Fig. 2
another embodiment of the winding machine, also in front view and

a support roller according to the invention with a partially wound roll in side view (all figures highly schematic).

Die dynamische Belastung der umschlungenen Walze TW1 und damit die Gesamtbelastung dieser Walze ist allerdings höher als die der Walze TW2.1 are two in diameter same driven carrier rollers TW1 and TW2 are provided, which both have a resiliently deformable casing M1, M2, the casing M1 being the relatively more compliant and the casing M2 forms the relatively less compliant covering. The fed paper web PB wraps around the first support roller TW1 about 180 ° and becomes the roll R with the roll weight G wrapped. The weight load can be used to start each winding process onto the two support rollers by a loading roller, as known per se, can be artificially increased (GBLW). The by the roll weight on the two support rollers Exerted normal load is N1 and N2 in this embodiment same size. The dynamic load of the wrapped roller TW1 and thus the total load of this However, the roller is higher than that of the roller TW2.

A housing called AL of a known airlift is essentially edge sealing from below lower gusset area between the two support rollers. Due to the axially parallel outlet gap, compressed air, the Airliftgenäuse in a manner not shown is fed through the tap gap between the two Carrier rollers in the above, from the roll R above inflow sealed space as weight relief compressed air, the end faces of this pressure relief space DR are sealed in a known manner.

The embodiment of FIG. 2 differs from that 1 and. a. in that the diameter of the wrapped Carrier roller TW1 larger than the diameter of the carrier roller TW2 is and the axis of the latter is higher than that of the former is located, the load roller at an angle to the vertical. With this arrangement the Normal load N1 of the support roller TW1 noticeably larger than that Normal load N2 of the support roller TW2. With this especially preferred embodiment is the surface of the non-wrapped Carrier roller TW2 with a friction coefficient increasing Cover RB provided. An airlift is only an option and therefore shown in dashed lines.

The illustration in Fig. 3 illustrates how the greatly exaggerated shown ripple of the wound roll R of reproduced the resiliently deformable jacket M1 of the support roller TW1 and air intake gaps are thus minimized or suppressed become.
