Durch die EP 0 571 961 A1 ist ein Fahrwerk für Schienenfahrzeuge bekannt, das aus zwei parallelen Längsträgern besteht, die durch zwei Querträger miteinander verbunden sind. An den Enden der Längsträger ist jeweils eine gabelförmige Radschwinge angelenkt, in deren Gabel jeweils ein Einzelrad drehbar gelagert ist. Jedes Einzelrad wird von einem Motor mit Stirnradgetriebe angetrieben, wobei das Motorgehäuse am Getriebegehäuse befestigt ist. Die Längsachse des Motors liegt dabei parallel zu den Querträgern und fluchtet mit der Achse der Gelenke der jeweiligen Radschwinge. Das Getriebegehäuse ist an der axial innenliegenden Gabelhälfte der Radschwinge befestigt. Da der Motor mit seinem Getriebe axial innen liegt, ist im Bereich der Radkästen eines Schienenfahrzeugs kein Niederflurbereich möglich. Fahrwerk für Schienenfahrzeuge, das folgende Merkmale umfaßt: - Zwei parallele Längsträger (1 und 2), die durch wenigstens einen Querträger (3 bzw. 4) miteinander verbunden sind, - zwei Radpaare aus jeweils zwei Einzelrädern (9 bis 12), wobei wenigstens zwei axial gegenüberliegende Einzelräder von jeweils einem Motor (13 bzw. 14) mit Getriebe (15 bis 18) angetrieben sind, - jedes Einzelrad ist in einer Radschwinge (5 bis 8) drehbar gelagert, wobei die Radschwingen jeweils parallel zur Fahrwerkslängsachse an beiden Enden von parallelen Fahrwerksteilen angeordnet und um ein Gelenk, dessen Achse rechtwinklig zur Fahrwerkslängsachse verläuft, vertikal auslenkbar sind, - die Motoren sind mit ihren Längsachsen parallel zu den Längsträgern angeordnet, - die Radschwingen sind als Getriebegehäuse ausgebildet.
