Definitions
- the invention relates to a sealing washer.
- Sealing disks are known in various embodiments (DE 1 482 575, EP 0 148 527 B1, GB 2 142 911 A, US 4 266 687). They are made up of at least two layers built up. They are usually in the form of thin disks in the closure of a container inserted. However, thicker sheets of cardboard, for example duplex cardboard, used, especially when storing soluble coffee.
- the sealing washer is inserted into the closure and this is screwed onto the container.
- the upper peripheral edge of the container is coated with an adhesive.
- one Layer of the sealing washer usually aluminum with a glassine lining with the glassine side glued to the edge of the container. This is the content of the container protected against loss of quality, e.g. loss of aroma, drying out or attracting water.
- the cardboard layer is removed from the Solved aluminum layer. The aluminum / glassine layer is destroyed to adhere to the content of the container.
- the cardboard layer remains in the closure and serves when the container is reclosed, its resealing to protect the goods stored therein.
- sealing washers which induce a container inductively through the action of heat or conductive seal (US-5 057 365).
- Such sealing washers point to this Purpose layers of thermoplastic material. When heating the with the sealing washer provided, screwed on a container melt them Layers and form a firm connection with the closure bottom. When unscrewing of the closure of the container, the thermoplastic layer remains in the closure.
- the invention has for its object to provide an improved sealing washer.
- the stiffness or bending stiffness of polypropylene is suitable for a good fit to grant the sealing washer in the closure of the container.
- the behavior at Compress the polypropylene when screwing the closure onto the Container is essentially the same as that of cardboard, so that the sealing effect also optimal when reclosing the container after opening for the first time becomes.
- a sealing washer is created that consists of at least two layers and for the closure of odor-sensitive foods, especially soluble coffee, certain containers is provided. Particularly advantageous becomes the sealing washer for closures for instant products in glass containers.
- One of the layers consists of polypropylene. Because polypropylene is not sensitive to moisture or is hydrophilic, it is particularly suitable for the closure of such Foodstuffs that are themselves hydrophilic, such as soluble coffee.
- the Layer of polyproypylene is the in after the first opening of the container facing this product. Since mostly a foam made of polypropylene is used is, it has such a rigidity that it runs through the upper circumferential The edge of the container is compressed when the cap is screwed on can be.
- a second layer faces the closure on the first layer of polypropylene arranged.
- It can either be made of polypropylene or polyethylene be.
- wax can also be used conventionally become.
- the separation of the polypropylene layer happens from the aluminum / glassine or glassine / glassine layer due to the middle layer, for example made of wax.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a container 1 with a sealing washer 2 shown.
- the sealing disc 2 is arranged in a closure 3 of the container 1.
- the closure 3 is screwed onto the upper peripheral edge 4 of the container 1.
- the screw cap 5 is only hinted at. Instead of a screw cap 5, another twist lock could also be used.
- the sealing washer 2 is arranged in a retaining bead 20 provided in the closure 3.
- In the container 1 is an odor-sensitive food 6, especially instant products, here instant coffee, stored. But it can also be another, for example a hydrophilic Product in which the container is kept.
- the sealing disc 2 has two layers 2a, 2b.
- the upper, the closure 3 facing Layer 2a is made of polypropylene or polyethylene.
- the lower, the smell sensitive Layer 2b facing food 6 is made of polypropylene.
- she can also be made of wax, provided that layer 2a is made of polypropylene.
- It is the state in Figure 1 shown, in which the sealing disc 2 only from these two layers 2a, 2b is constructed.
- the aluminum and / or glassine can be printed with the manufacturer's name.
- these two layers are opened by the first two Layers 2a, 2b and released from the closure and remain on the edge of the container.
- the layers of glassine / glassine or aluminum / glassine dissolve due to the lower prevailing between them and the two first layers 2a, 2b Adhesive force of these. This adhesive force is less than the adhesive effect the glassine / glassine or aluminum / glassine layers glued to the edge of the container.
- the latter are then destroyed by the end user of the product the product stored in the container 1, here the odor-sensitive food 6 to arrive.
- the sealing effect is then from the two-layer sealing washer 2 made of polypropylene and polypropylene or polyethylene or wax applied.
- An airtight closure of the container 1 is then no longer necessary, since that Product already when the aluminum and / or glassine layers are destroyed for the first time has come into contact with air.
- FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of a second embodiment of a sealing washer 2.
- the sealing washer 2 has five layers. Two layers 7, 8 are shown partially detached.
- the structure of the sealing washer 2 is as follows in detail.
- a middle layer 2a is provided. This is advantageously made of polyethylene or polypropylene. If it is made of polypropylene, a foam made of this material is provided, which has a density of 200 g / m 2 , for example. A mixture of copolymers and homopolymers can be used for this. As a result, this layer 2a has such flexibility and rigidity that the sealing disk 2 can be inserted into a retaining bead in the closure 3 in FIG. 1 without the risk of slipping out again.
- the elasticity of the polypropylene foam is not particularly high because the recovery is too low. However, this does not prove to be disadvantageous since the airtight first sealing of the container is already carried out by the layers 7 and 8. After opening the container, ie destroying layers 7 and 8, air has already reached the product in the container. The sealing effect of the polypropylene is then completely sufficient. Despite the high kilogram price of polypropylene in a selected high quality, the use of low-density foam achieves the same price per square meter as with the conventional use of cardboard.
- polyethylene is provided instead of polypropylene, a foam can also be used, but with a higher density, for example of 400 g / m 2 .
- Polyethylene should always be processed in a thickness adapted to the material, i.e. not too thin. However, the layer should not be too thick in order to achieve a suitable flexibility. Good results were achieved with a layer thickness of 1mm.
- Layer 2a is coated on both sides with a layer 2b. This is mostly a coating made of polypropylene. When using polypropylene foam for the middle layer 2a can also be a known wax coating.
- the Layer 2b which points upward to layer 8 in FIG. 2, is after the sealing washer has been inserted 2 in the closure 3 of the container 1 the product in the container facing. The actual airtight closure of the container 1 happens at Manufacturer through the two layers 7,8.
- Layer 8 is made of aluminum, for example or glassine, layer 7 of glassine.
- the glassine layer 7 is screwed on of the closure 3 on the container 1 against its upper, circumferential, with pressed an edge 4 provided with adhesive and glued to it.
- the glassine layer 7 and the aluminum layer 8 are also connected to one another, for example glued.
- the aluminum layer 8 faces the layer 2b Surface pattern 9 or scratches on. These are designed so that the on this layer 2b pressed aluminum layer 8 is held on this. Becomes however, the closure 3 is unscrewed from the container 1 when it is first opened, Layer 8 becomes layer 2b due to the stronger effect of the adhesive between the glassine layer and the edge of the container and between the glassine layer and aluminum or glassine layer compared to the adhesive effect of the Grid pattern 9 in the aluminum or glassine layer 8 in connection with the above arranged layer 2b separately.
- Figure 3 is a perspective view of a third embodiment of a sealing washer 2 shown.
- layer 2a is a layer 2b above layer 2a and a layer 2c made of a different material below the layer 2a.
- the middle layer 2a can be made of polyethylene
- the upper layer 2b can be made of polypropylene
- the bottom layer be made of wax.
- the layer 8 made of aluminum or glassine is in turn partially removed from the Layer 2b shown. With this it is arranged on both surfaces Droplets 10 of a pressure sensitive adhesive connected. This is a replacement for those described in Figure 2 Grid pattern 9 in the aluminum layer 8. They serve the same purpose, the detachable Connect the layers 8 and 2b when screwing the closure 3 onto the Container 1.
- An annular area 12 is marked on the surface 11 of the glassine layer 7, the after screwing the closure on the upper peripheral edge 4 with this is connected or glued.
- the multilayer sealing washers according to the invention are without exposure to heat attached to the edge of the container to seal the container.
- the adhesive hardens without exposure to heat.
- the aroma protection is still in the form of layers 7, 8. This is one for the consumer good means created to recognize the originality of the packaging of the food. If the layers 7, 8 have already been destroyed, this is immediately visible to him.

Abstract
Description
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Dichtscheibe. The invention relates to a sealing washer.
Dichtscheiben sind in verschiedenen Ausführungsformen bekannt (DE 1 482 575, EP 0
148 527 B1, GB 2 142 911 A, US 4 266 687). Sie sind aus wenigstens zwei Schichten
aufgebaut.
Sealing disks are known in various embodiments (DE 1 482 575, EP 0
148 527 B1,
The sealing washer is inserted into the closure and this is screwed onto the container. The upper peripheral edge of the container is coated with an adhesive. By screwing the closure on the container one Layer of the sealing washer, usually aluminum with a glassine lining with the glassine side glued to the edge of the container. This is the content of the container protected against loss of quality, e.g. loss of aroma, drying out or attracting water. When opening the container, the cardboard layer is removed from the Solved aluminum layer. The aluminum / glassine layer is destroyed to adhere to the content of the container. The cardboard layer remains in the closure and serves when the container is reclosed, its resealing to protect the goods stored therein.
Also known are sealing washers which induce a container inductively through the action of heat or conductive seal (US-5 057 365). Such sealing washers point to this Purpose layers of thermoplastic material. When heating the with the sealing washer provided, screwed on a container melt them Layers and form a firm connection with the closure bottom. When unscrewing of the closure of the container, the thermoplastic layer remains in the closure.
The invention has for its object to provide an improved sealing washer.
This object is achieved by the invention defined in claims 1 and 9. Training the invention are defined in the subclaims. This creates a sealing washer created that the odor disadvantages of the known discs made of duplex cardboard not having. If cardboard gets damp, bacteria cultures form. Destroy them the fresh scent and the quality of the food stored in the container, for example soluble coffee. Surprisingly, this better sealing washer are manufactured at a cost in the order of magnitude of the known discs. By using polypropylene foam, its density is compared to that of cardboard so low that despite the much higher price per kilogram (DM 4.00 per kg compared to DM 1.40-1.60 per kg) the final price for both products is the same is. The stiffness or bending stiffness of polypropylene is suitable for a good fit to grant the sealing washer in the closure of the container. The behavior at Compress the polypropylene when screwing the closure onto the Container is essentially the same as that of cardboard, so that the sealing effect also optimal when reclosing the container after opening for the first time becomes.
A recycling or recycling of polypropylene is possible without residue, that of Polyethylene too. In the known sealing washers made of duplex cardboard, it works Cardboard interferes with the recycling of the closures. Thus, the invention Sealing washer in addition to the advantages already mentioned when using polypropylene and polyethylene for the sealing washers themselves also have advantages in disposal of used closures.
In principle, a sealing washer is created that consists of at least two layers and for the closure of odor-sensitive foods, especially soluble coffee, certain containers is provided. Particularly advantageous becomes the sealing washer for closures for instant products in glass containers. One of the layers consists of polypropylene. Because polypropylene is not sensitive to moisture or is hydrophilic, it is particularly suitable for the closure of such Foodstuffs that are themselves hydrophilic, such as soluble coffee. The Layer of polyproypylene is the in after the first opening of the container facing this product. Since mostly a foam made of polypropylene is used is, it has such a rigidity that it runs through the upper circumferential The edge of the container is compressed when the cap is screwed on can be.
A second layer faces the closure on the first layer of polypropylene arranged. It can either be made of polypropylene or polyethylene be. Instead of a layer of polypropylene, wax can also be used conventionally become. For the first time airtight sealing of the container, one with glassine or the like coated aluminum foil or a layer of two superimposed Glassine layers used and added to the polypropylene layer become. This is done, for example, using a pressure sensitive adhesive. After opening the layers of the container (polypropylene / wax, aluminum and / or glassine) separated from each other and the aluminum / glassine layer remains on the top peripheral edge of the container. It is then from the edge of the container removed as usual and only the inserted sealing washer from then only two more layers seal the container tightly. The separation of the polypropylene layer happens from the aluminum / glassine or glassine / glassine layer due to the middle layer, for example made of wax.
In order to explain the invention in more detail, several exemplary embodiments are described below of sealing washers described with reference to the drawings.

- Figure 3:

Produkt, in dem Behältnis aufbewahrt werden.FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a container 1 with a sealing
The
The latter are then destroyed by the end user of the product
the product stored in the container 1, here the odor-
Figure 2 shows a perspective view of a second embodiment of a sealing
If polyethylene is provided instead of polypropylene, a foam can also be used, but with a higher density, for example of 400 g / m 2 . Polyethylene should always be processed in a thickness adapted to the material, i.e. not too thin. However, the layer should not be too thick in order to achieve a suitable flexibility. Good results were achieved with a layer thickness of 1mm.
In Figure 3 is a perspective view of a third embodiment of a sealing

Behältnis 1.The

The multilayer sealing washers according to the invention are without exposure to heat attached to the edge of the container to seal the container. The adhesive hardens without exposure to heat.
After the first unscrewing of the closure from the container, the aroma protection is
still in the form of
The effort to separate those on the edge of the container and that in the closure remaining layers, the adhesive effect is correspondingly low.
