BESCHREIBUNG
Hier will die Erfindung Abhilfe schaffen.
DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to a tear-open and sealable cup closure according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
Lids made of aluminum or an aluminum-plastic laminate are mainly used for closing cups and glasses, in particular for yoghurt and other milk products, but also for other foods. To seal onto the container, the lids are provided with a sealing wax, which under heat and pressure has a liquid-tight connection with the material of the container and - depending on customer requirements - a more or less easily peelable connection.
These known lids are printed according to customer requirements and are pressure-coated according to the conditions of use, delivered to the customer in a smooth, but primarily in an embossed version as a band-shaped material and punched out there before application to the container and, if necessary, provided with an expiry date. It is also possible to punch the lids out at the factory and deliver them to the bottling plant in the form of stacks.
For some time now there has been an effort to replace the flat covers made of aluminum in thicknesses between 20 and 80 mm with materials that contain little or no aluminum. Papers, cardboard or plastics are primarily considered. However, these alternative materials can meet the diverse requirements in terms of seal quality, opening characteristics, product resistance, resistance to demanding storage conditions (low temperatures, high humidity, etc.), delamination resistance, dimensional stability during storage as unprocessed closures or during the processing process itself, printing options in one or more Points do not do justice.
A particular problem is the dimensional stability during processing and storage, since this fundamentally influences the fully automatic handling, especially the uncovering. Lids made of cardboard or composite materials with cardboard have the property that they roll up after being punched out and are therefore unsuitable for storage in stacks or for direct processing (lapping). The curling is also dependent on the conditions of the environment (air humidity).
The tear-open tabs with which the lids must be peelable from the container by hand represent a particular problem with lids made of paper or cardboard, since the conventional design as a 90-degree tab tends to tear at the side of the tab and thus make the opening process impossible .
The invention seeks to remedy this.
The invention, as characterized in claim 1, solves the problem of creating a tear-open, sealable cup closure which does not have the disadvantages of the known covers, maintains its flat shape given to it during storage and processing, and can be easily torn open.
The main advantages of the invention are that the processing of the lids made from alternative materials to aluminum can be handled, transported, sealed and then torn open in a manner analogous to the previous aluminum lids.
In an advantageous manner, perfect deformation stability can be achieved by stretching and stretching, in particular under the action of heat and, if necessary, using moisture, drawing agents and lubricants.
The invention is explained in more detail on the basis of illustrated embodiments. Show it
FIG. 1 shows a cross section through a cover along line I-I in FIG. 2,
FIG. 2 shows a plan view of a cover with a conventional tab shape,
FIG. 3 shows a plan view of a cover with a convex tab shape,
FIG. 4 shows a cross section along line IV-IV in FIG. 2,
FIG. 5 shows a cross section along line V-V in FIG. 2,
Figure 6 shows a cross section along line VI-VI in Figure 3 and
FIG. 7 shows a cross section along line VII-VII in FIG. 3.
The flat lid 1 shown in section in FIG. 1 for sealing onto a cup 3 (cup 3 is only indicated in broken lines) is hot-sealed along an edge 5 attached to the cup 3 for the sealing. On the left side, a tear-open tab 7 projects beyond the sealing edge 5. In the center, the cover 1 can have a profile 9 protruding into the filling space of the cup 3.
The lid 1 consists of paper, cardboard or a composite material of these substances and is provided with a water-impermeable food-compatible coating 11 directed towards the filling material. The coating 11 can encompass the entire cover surface or only the area that comes into contact with the filling material.
The profile 1, which gives the shape stability, according to FIG. 4, consists of lattice-shaped, preferably trapezoidal grooves which are embossed into the cover from below. Instead of a lattice-shaped arrangement, a profile consisting of grooves 13 arranged concentrically to the center of the cover can be provided according to FIG. It is also possible to provide radially extending, round or angular grooves according to FIG. 6. Another possible form of profiling is shown in FIG. 7, where irregular elevations overlap and assume a scale-like shape.
The profiling is preferably applied when the cover is punched out of band-shaped material, and the profiling stamp and, if need be, the die may also be heated to increase the dimensional stability.
Depending on the materials used to produce the cover 1, temperatures of up to 160 degrees Celsius or higher can be used. In addition to thermal deformation (by stretching or by stretching), moisture treatment and / or the use of drawing and lubricants can also be added. When using drawing and lubricating agents, it is of course important to pay attention to physiologically harmless products.
The shape of the tab 7, as shown in Figure 2, is particularly suitable for very tear-resistant fabrics, dbh.
also for paper lids that are laminated with a tear-resistant plastic layer. When using very thin papers, especially when they are made from recycled material, it has been found that the convex shape of the tab 7 shown in FIG. 3 prevents tearing when the lid is peeled off from the container 3. In this embodiment, the tab 7 is composed of curved sections with an essentially constant radius, the two sections 15 passing into the radius of the cover 1 essentially without a transition. The formation of the tab 7, at the tip 17 is not essential to the invention; it is preferably also provided with a radius.
In the case of non-round cups 3 or lids 1, the radius sections 15 of the tab 7 must flow tangentially into the remaining edge region of the lid.
