  • a shimming operation was moreover required on the reed and, to keep constant the trajectory of the strap, this latter had to be semirigid, thereby notably increasing costs.
  • Said undercut notch of the strap and, consequently, the portion of said guide elements apt to geometrically mate therewith, will preferably have a rectangular, trapezoidal or arched section.
  • the guide means of the present invention are shown mounted on a loom of the shuttleless type, with continuous weft feed, wherein the back and forth motion of a pair of weft grippers along the shed is obtained through a pair or straps moved by two gearwheels with reciprocating motion.

  • the gripper 1 is positioned - in respect of the strap 2 - so that its barycenter coincides with that of the strap 2, or is placed in an even lower position. Thanks to this arrangement, in spite of the gripper 1 moving at high speed, the strap 2 is not caused to deviate from its path by said gripper, making it unnecessary to provide for further engagement means (as normally provided in known technique) to guide the strap 2.
  • the strap 2 simply contacts the guide elements 4 with its lower surface only, the sides and the upper surfaces of the strap being free.
  • the arrangement according to the invention allows to notably limit the protrusion of the guide elements 4 into the warp lap, and to thereby reduce any consequent defects showing up in the fabric due to impacts between the warp yarns and said guide elements.
  • the limited protrusion of the guide elements into the warp lap is placed in evidence in fig. 1 by the trajectory TE of said elements, which shows how these totally move out of the shed greatly in advance in respect of the corresponding elements of prior art.

Claims (4)

  1. Moyen pour guider le mouvement de va-et-vient d'une paire de griffes de fils de trame le long de la foule de métiers à alimentation en trame continue, du type comprenant :
    deux bandes de commande (2) adaptées à se déplacer sur un plan sensiblement horizontal grâce à l'action de deux roues d'engrenage avec un mouvement alternatif, lesdites bandes (2) étant dotées d'une encoche évidée (3) sur leur surface inférieure au moins à leur extrémité supportant la griffe (1)
    et une pluralité d'éléments de guidage (4) montés sur le battant (C) du métier ;
       caractérisé en ce que :
       chaque bande contacte les éléments de guidage avec sa surface inférieure uniquement, les éléments de guidage (4) étant adaptés à épouser géométriquement ladite encoche évidée (3),
       et en ce que :
       la griffe (1) est montée sur la surface supérieure de la bande (2) et son barycentre coïncide avec le barycentre de la section de bande ou est situé en dessous.
  2. Moyen selon la revendication 1, dans lequel ladite encoche évidée (3) de la bande (2), et la partie desdits éléments de guidage (4) adaptée à épouser géométriquement l'encoche, ont une section rectangulaire.
  3. Moyen selon la revendication 1, dans lequel ladite encoche évidée (3) de la bande (2), et la partie desdits éléments de guidage (4) adaptée à épouser géométriquement l'encoche, ont une section trapézoïdale.
  4. Moyen selon la revendication 1, dans lequel ladite encoche évidée (3) de la bande (2), et la partie desdits éléments de guidage (4) adaptée à épouser géométriquement l'encoche, ont une section arquée.
