Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a packaging for knives and the like, which protects the cutting edge, but leaves the handle free to touch.
Such packaging is known. For example, knives and the like are offered for protection against injuries in elongated sleeves, these sleeves covering the cutting edge and being fastened to the handle with a push-button tab. At least one side of the sheath is transparent so that the knife can also be recognized with its cutting edge, while the handle remains free to allow trial and error handling. Variants of such packaging are also known, but they are all quite complex and can only be attached with a considerable amount of work. The material to be disposed of is also increasingly criticized.
The object of the invention was to remedy this, in particular to provide a packaging for knives and the like which does not have the disadvantages of the prior art or does not have them to the extent and which offers good protection, in particular with little material, the material can be disposed of easily at the same time.
Accordingly, the invention relates to packaging as characterized in more detail in the claims.
Such packaging is particularly suitable for knives of all kinds; which depending on the length of their cutting with suitable sizes be packed by foils. However, this packaging is also suitable for other devices, such as scissors or tools, in which, for example, an interested party should be given the opportunity to grasp the respective handle unhindered and take the device in hand without being disturbed by heavy and voluminous packaging to be and still safe from possible injuries.
The foils used are preferably PP foils in thicknesses of approximately 40 μm to 160 μm, a colored, printable PP foil being particularly suitable for the rear foil, while the front foil is in particular a printable, clear-sighted PP foil. The coloring prevents the two prints from showing through and enables the information applied to be read correctly.
The foils are equipped with an adhesive that allows residue-free removal from the cutting edge or the like, but which nevertheless ensures a good hold. Such adhesives are known, for example from DE 2.523.617 A1, DE 3.208.217 A1, EP 213.860 A1, US 4.599.265 and EP 121.430 A1, and for adhesives DE 3.346.100 A1 to be applied in screen printing etc. This not only results in a residue-free peeling, for example from the cutting edge of a knife, but also a peeling off of the areas of the film which are glued to one another, without having to use unduly large forces.
The handle provided is preferably adhesive-free, but can also be achieved by means of a suitable cover or an imprint, as is the general state of the art.
In the following, the invention will be explained in more detail with the aid of examples, but without wishing to restrict it unnecessarily.

Specifically, FIG. 1 shows a PP film of 80 μm thickness equipped with an adhesive according to Example 1 of DE 3.346.100 A1, and a similarly colored film adheres the
It is also advantageous to provide the foils used with a metal strip in order to have the properties of an alarm label to achieve. In this case, the separate application of an alarm label is unnecessary.
