Claims (3)

  1. A process for the production of a two-part captive nut from a sheet metal plate having a holding portion (1) and a nut portion (2) which is mounted displaceably thereon and which comprises a base plate (3) and a screwthreaded sleeve (4) formed therein, wherein side walls (9) of the apertured holding plate (5) of the holding portion (1) are bent round over the edge of the base plate (3), characterised in that a sheet metal portion is stamped out of a sheet metal plate, wherein the sheet metal portion has a blank of the holding portion (1) and a blank of the nut portion (2), and wherein the blanks are connected together in one piece by way of a narrow bar portion (14) between the later holding plate (5) and the later base plate (3), that firstly the side walls (9) are set up approximately at a right angle, that the base plate (3) is then bent over around the bar portion (14) and pressed down between the upstanding side walls (9) in parallel relationship to the holding plate (5), that then the side walls (9) are bent over until they overlap the side edges (3') of the base plate (3) and finally the base plate (3) is separated from the holding plate (5) by shearing off the bent-over bar portion (14).
  2.
