Abstract

On traite de la matière organique (10) dans un empilement de bacs (1). Le bac le plus bas présente une base sans perforations et il est pourvu d'un robinet (8) pour évacuer le liquide. Les bacs restants ont chacun un moyen permettant d'accéder aux vers constitué par une base perforée (2), et ils sont remplis de matière organique. Des vers sont placés initialement dans le bac voisin du bac le plus bas de l'empilement. Lorsqu'ils ont digéré la matière organique se trouvant dans ce bac, ils migrent vers le haut par les perforations situées dans la base du bac au-dessus de celui où ils se reproduisent et ils digèrent la matière organique se trouvant dans ce bac. Finalement, le bac voisin du bac le plus bas est enlevé de l'empilement, la matière organique traitée, qui est maintenant largement constitué des déjections des vers, est recueillie et le bac vide est remis en place en haut de l'empilement. L'opération est répétée entraînant la digestion de la matière organique, la multiplication des vers et la collecte du liquide écoulé dans le bac inférieur. L'agencement est pourvu d'un couvercle (12).
