Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Verkaufstheke oder -vitrine für Lebensmittel gemäß dem Oberbegriff des Patentanspruchs 1. Bei der bekannten Verkaufstheke sind in deren Unterbau unterhalb des Warenausstellungsraums (Auslage) ein Kälteaggregat mit integriertem Verdampfer sowie ein Querstromgebläse angebracht, welches erwärmte Luft aus der Auslage absaugt und über den Verdampfer leitet. Ein Teil der am Verdampfer abgekühlten Luft wird über einen vertikalen Kühlluftkanal auf der Rückseite der Auslage in das oberste von drei übereinanderliegenden Auslagefächern geführt, von wo die Kühlluft in das darunterliegende Auslagefach absinkt. Das unterste, als Reservekühlfach ausgebildete Fach wird mit dem anderen Teil der am Verdampfer abgekühlten Luft direkt gespeist. Der Gesamtwirkungsgrad dieser Umluftkühlung ist indessen unbefriedigend. Zum einen muß für den Transport der Kühlluft eine erhebliche Lüfterleistung installiert werden. Ferner erwärmt sich die Kühlluft auf ihrem Weg durch den Kühlluftkanal, so daß Kühlleistung verloren geht, noch bevor die Kühlluft die zu kühlenden Waren erreicht hat. Schließlich ist die Ausbildung eines verhältnismäßig großen vertikalen Kühlluftkanals auf der für das Verkaufspersonal frei zugänglich zu haltenden Rückfront der Verkaufstheke aus praktischen Gründen nur an einem der beiden Längsenden der Verkaufstheke möglich. Die Erfindung beruht auf der Überlegung, den Verdampfer unterhalb der (oberen) Deckenplatte der Auslage anzubringen, d.h., an die höchste Stelle der Auslage. Da die erwärmte Luft innerhalb der Auslage zur Deckenplatte hin hochsteigt, wird sie unmittelbar an dem dort befindlichen Verdampfer abgekühlt. Das Kälteaggregat zum Speisen des Verdampfers mit flüssigem Kältemittel ist außerhalb der Auslage, z.B. in dem Unterbau der Verkaufstheke, oder außerhalb der Verkaufstheke angebracht. Die Verbindungsleitungen zwischen dem Kälteaggregat und dem Verdampfer verlaufen im Bereich der Auslage optisch unsichtbar in Tragholmen oder dgl.. Dasselbe gilt für eine oder mehrere Abflußleitungen zum Abführen von Kondenswasser, das sich in einer unterhalb des Verdampfers angeordneten Auffangwanne sammelt. Die Auffangwarne ist vorzugsweise mit einem Gefälle in Quer- und Längsrichtung der Auslage versehen, so daß der tiefste Punkt der Auffangwanne an einem Längsende der Auslage liegt, wo sich auch Tragholme der Verkaufstheke befinden. Der Verdampfer wird optisch von dem Kunden nicht bewußt wahrgenommen, wenn dessen Blick auf die Waren innerhalb der Auslage konzentriert ist. Zusätzlich kann im Bereich des Verdampfers die Frontscheibe mit einer undurchsichtigen Blende, Streifen oder dgl. versehen werden. Gegebenenfalls können zwischen Blende und Frontscheibe Preisschilder für die vertikal darunter liegenden Waren angebracht werden. Da nur das in der Auslage vorhandene Luftvolumen gekühlt wird, das aufgrund des natürlichen Kältegefälles zirkuliert, wird der ausgestellten Ware keine Feuchtigkeit entzogen, wie das der Fall ist, wenn ein kontinuierlicher Strom trockener Kühlluft durch die Auslage hindurchgeführt wird. Eine künstliche Befeuchtung der Ware ist bei der erfindungsgemäßen Verkaufstheke entbehrlich.
  • 2. Infolge der Absinkens der an der Decke der Auslage gekühlten Luft zum Boden der Auslage kann die Ware viel höher in der Auslage dekoriert werden als dies bei Hindurchführung eines kontinuierlichen Stroms trockener Kühlluft durch die Auslage möglich ist. Bei dieser bekannten Art der Umluftkühlung stellt die Ware ein Strömungshindernis für die Kaltluft dar, deren Strömungsgeschwindigkeit möglichst groß sein sollte. Im Falle der erfindungsgemäßen Verkaufstheke ist die Strömungsgeschwindigkeit der infolge natürlichen Kältgefälles zirkulierenden Luft relativ gering, so daß der Strömungswiderstand der Ware vernachlässigbar ist.
  • 3. Die erfindungsgemäße Kühlung der in der Auslage erwärmten, hochsteigenden Luft an der Decke der Auslage kann wirkungsvoll durch eine zusätzliche Kühlung der Bodenwanne der Auslage unterstützt werden.
