Definitions
- the invention relates to impingement cooling for wall parts, for example hot turbomachine components such as gas turbine blades or combustion chamber walls.
- cooling air jets are generally generated via a perforated plate and directed against the wall to be cooled. Arrangements in which the distance from perforated plate to wall is in the ratio 1 to 2 to the hole diameter are considered optimal.
- Such cooling methods are known, for example from DE-C2-25 26 277.
- actual baffle chambers are provided on the blade tip and on the suction side adjoining it.
- inserts - corresponding to the shape of the blade - which are provided with a large number of cooling air through openings.
- a big The problem with such arrangements is the flow transverse to the beam direction, which deflects the beams and can render them ineffective before they hit the wall to be cooled.
- Such cross currents are unavoidable if not just a line, ie only a row of holes, but an area is to be cooled.
- the cooling air in the above-mentioned blade is discharged into the hot flow as film air after the impact through suitably arranged hole patterns in the wall to be cooled.
- the disadvantage of this solution is that the cooling air must have a higher pressure than the hot flow into which it is discharged through the cooling air outlet openings. This relative overpressure can often only be generated by an additional fan.
- closed or cascaded use of cooling air is only possible to a limited extent because the film air is lost as cooling air.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of providing impingement cooling for wall parts in which the outflow of the cooling medium transverse to the jet direction does not impair the jet effect.
- this is achieved by a plurality of impingement tubes which are arranged with their inlets flat on a flat or curved support and with their mouths are directed towards the wall part to be cooled, the support being arranged at a distance from the wall part.
- the impact jets deflected after the impact can now flow unhindered in the free space between the mouth of the impact tube and the carrier, which is spaced apart by the length of the impact tubes.
- the carrier with the impingement tubes is arranged as an insert in the hollow interior of the blade, and if a plurality of such inserts are provided. This means that the same cooling medium can flow through the inserts in series. Closed impingement cooling systems can also be implemented with increased impingement jet speed. There is also the possibility of carrying out the outflow of the cooling medium at points of low pressure, for example on the rear edge of gas turbine blades
- cooling medium circulates in a closed circuit, higher cooling pressures can be achieved, which can increase the heat transfer coefficient.
- this is the case when using steam as the cooling medium, which is the case with Combined systems is made possible.
- the advantage here is that the higher pressure of the cooling medium is then generated in an energetically favorable manner in the feed pump instead of in the compressor.
- the invention offers the advantage of freely designing the ratio of the jet spacing to the jet diameter. This can extend over a range from 0.1 to 4.
- the wall part to be cooled for example by means of cooling air, is designated by 10. It is a flat wall, which on the outside of one through the Arrows 19 designated hot medium flows around.
- the support 13 on the cooling air side is also of flat design. In the case shown, it is attached to the wall at a constant distance 20 by means of suitable means, not shown.
- the carrier is provided with a large number of baffles 11, here equidistant and arranged in rows. Its inlet 12 is flush with the support surface.
- the baffle tubes have a conical inner channel with a constant narrowing in the direction of flow. The narrowest cross section of the impingement tubes is thus at the mouth 14. With its mouth 14, the impingement tubes are directed perpendicularly against the wall part to be cooled. The mouth is at an impact distance 15 to the wall. In the example, the ratio of this baffle distance to the narrowest diameter of the baffle tubes is approximately 1. It can be seen that the cooling air deflected after the impact can flow into the free spaces 21 between the baffle tubes without disturbing adjacent baffle jets. The light-free dimension of the space is given by the length of the baffle tubes in the vertical orientation.
- impingement tubes 11 run obliquely and are directed towards a limited surface area of the wall part 10. This allows the cooling effect to be concentrated in particularly exposed areas.
- the impact surface of the wall part 10 to be cooled is designed as a relief, the rays hitting the protruding humps. In this way, the inhomogeneous heat transfer in the impact jets can be compensated and a homogeneous temperature distribution is achieved on the hot side of the wall part.
- FIG. 4 shows a wall part 10 ribbed on the cooling air side.
- the increased jet length and jet thickness in relation to the thickness of the wall to be cooled compensate for the cooling effect on the ribbed wall.
- FIG. 5 shows an example with a variable baffle tube length increasing in a certain direction.
- the carrier 13 With a constant distance 15 of the respective impact mouth 14 to the wall part 10, the carrier 13 extends obliquely to the wall part.
- this variant aims to achieve a constant cross-flow speed between the impingement tubes.
- the wall part to be cooled is a gas turbine blade 16.
- the supports with the impingement tubes are designed as more or less tubular inserts 17A, 17B and 17C and are arranged in the hollow interior of the blade.
- These inserts with the baffle tubes 11 can be designed as cast parts or as deep-drawn parts. They can also be designed as a pressure-bearing structure for internal pressures that can be up to twice the pressure in the actual impact zone.
- the coolant flows into the inserts 17A-C as a rule from the blade root against the blade tip.
- the impingement tubes 11 are staggered over the blade height and the blade circumference at a required distance from one another and are directed with their mouth against the inner wall of the hollow blade.
- the inserts 17A-C can be flowed through individually or in series by the coolant.
- the gaseous or vaporous cooling medium can be circulated in a closed circuit in the multiple inserts, ie it is drawn off again via the blade root after the cooling activity has been completed.
- the one flowing off the cooled wall parts Cooling medium can, however, also escape the blade into the flow channel. This is preferably done at the point on the blade where the lowest external pressure prevails. As a rule, the coolant will thus be let out at the rear edge 18 of the blade.
- the invention is not limited to the examples shown and described. It goes without saying that, depending on the requirements, the baffle tube arrangement, the number and division of the baffle tubes, and their length and shape, tapered or cylindrical, can be optimized in each case.
- the invention also does not set any limits in the choice of the coolant, its pressure and its further use after the cooling operation.

Description
- Fig. 1
- eine perspektivische Ansicht eines prallgekühlten Elementes;
- Fig. 2-5
- ausschnittsweise vier verschiedene Varianten eines prallgekühlten Elementes;
- Fig. 6
- Fig. 4 zeigt ein kühlluftseitig verripptes Wandteil 10.
