Definitions
- the invention relates to a trough strainer according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- a strainer is a filter for liquids.
- Known gutter strainers consist of a mushroom-shaped insert bent from wire parts that can be partially inserted into the gutter inlet. The gaps between the individual wire loops are a few millimeters.
- the well-known gutter seers retain objects of a few millimeters washed up in the gutter. Leaves are mainly retained, including dead small animals. Dust, soot and dirt are let through. The material washed into the gutter, especially leaves, rots and decomposes within a few weeks. The decomposed and thus crushed material was then theoretically at one of the Downpours washed into the drain. Unfortunately, this theoretical process did not always work, so that, as a rule, the well-known gutter strainers had to be cleaned of the material retained by them once a year in order to ensure proper water drainage.
- the object of the invention is to provide a gutter strainer which, as far as possible, no longer, in particular, no longer has to be cleaned from leaves clogging it.
- a slit-shaped grid is no longer placed around the drain opening, but rather the drain opening itself is subdivided over a wide area, as a result of which all objects which could get stuck within the course of the drain are kept away; Objects which, however, can be flushed through and which have previously clogged the known gutter filters are allowed to pass through.
- a large-scale subdivision means a halving, thirding to sixth of the drain pipe or drain inlet. This subdivision keeps large objects clogging the drain pipe, but allows smaller objects that are deposited in front of the known gutter strainers to pass through. H. preferably washed away. A tennis or shuttlecock clogging the drain pipe is thus retained while leaves and other small objects of the same size are allowed to pass. Clogging of the gutter strainer according to the invention is thus almost impossible.
- gutter strainer according to the invention is therefore no longer a strainer in the narrower sense of the word according to Duden, since it only retains objects from a size that clogs the pipe, but is no longer a liquid filter.
- gutter strainer continues due to the same scope as the known gutter strainers used.
- parts fallen into the gutter such as, for. B. a tennis ball held only over one of the free spaces created by the subdivision, while the rest remain free for unimpeded water drainage.
- Taller objects are held up by the protruding part, so that there is a free space under them. Clogging of the entire drain opening is excluded.
- the bars with the plate are preferably held at a distance from one another.
- the width of the plate is preferably selected to be smaller than the outlet pipe diameter by a tolerance.
- the thickness of the plate depends only on the desired mechanical stability or the required total weight so that it does not float. If the bars on the left and right of the plate are in alignment with one another and of the same length or adapted to the (tapering) cross section of the drain inlet, the gutter drain is well centered in the drain inlet, particularly when three bars are used.
- other structural elements such as. B. only struts can be used to distance the bars from each other or to create a subdivision.
- a plate is an extremely inexpensive item.
- the plate is preferably designed to be vertical, but can also be designed to be inclined, especially if it is intended to cause the gutter sieve to rotate by the water flowing off. Rollers can also be used for this purpose on the plate sides or on the free end face of the rods.
- the gutter strainer is preferably made of weatherproof and UV-resistant plastic. As a result, it is inexpensive to manufacture and protected against corrosion. However, the weight should be chosen so large that it does not float when there is a large amount of water running off.
- the gutter strainer could also be made of metal, which should then advantageously be provided with a protective plastic coating.
- two bars are arranged laterally symmetrically in the top of the plate and a third bar is arranged in the middle at the bottom.
- the lower rod is slightly smaller than the diameter of the drain pipe diameter and the two upper rods are so long that they fit into the widening funnel of the drain pipe. Drain pipes and gutters are manufactured according to standard dimensions. The gutter strainer just described fits not only in funnel-shaped drainpipe entrances but also in those that form a "T" with the gutter.
- the gutter strainer 1 shown in a top view in FIG. 1 and in a side view in FIG. 2 can enter a funnel-shaped as well as a T-shaped drain inlet 2 or 3 as a transition from a roof gutter 5 to a drain pipe 7 , as in FIGS. 3 and 4 are used.
- the gutter strainer has three rods 9 , 10 and 11 made of plastic and running in an approximately horizontal position.
- the two rods 9 and 10 are arranged symmetrically to a center line 13 of a plastic plate 15 in the upper half thereof and the rod 11 on the center line 13 in the lower half.
- the rods tendon-like connect wall points of the circular cross-section of the drain opening.
- the bars 9 , 10 and 11 are divided in two into partial bars 9a / 9b , 10a / 10b and 11a / 11b which are aligned with one another.
- Each partial bar 9a / 9b , 10a / 10b and 11a / 11b has a central internal thread 17a and 17b at one end.
- a grub screw 21a , 21b and 21c which extends through a through hole 19a to 19c in the plate 15 and with which the partial rods 9a / 9b , 10a / 10b and 11a / 11b are tightened against the surface of the plate.
- the plate 15 also connects tendon-like surface lines of the drain opening to one another. 3 and 4, the axis of the drain opening is included as a special case of a tendon.
- the rods 9 , 10 and 11 there is a large-scale subdivision with a view to the dimensions of the drain opening.
- the arrangement of the rods 9, 10 and 11 is chosen so that the upper part of the plate 15 at least slightly above the drain opening protrudes.
- the plate and rod dimensions are selected to match the nominal sizes NG 50, NG 60, NG 75, NG 100 and NG 120.
- a gutter sieve matching NG 50 has a plate 15 with a height of 80 mm and a width of 42 mm.
- the two through holes 19a and 19b are 45 mm from the lower edge of the plate 15 and the through hole 19c arranged on the center line is 10 mm away.
- the plate thickness is 2 mm.
- the two rods 9 and 10 - composed of the partial rods 9a / 9b and 10a / 10b - each have a length of 70 mm and the rod 11 - composed of the partial rods 11a / 11b - a length of 44 mm. All three rods 9, 10 and 11 have the same diameter of 6.5 mm.
- the diameter of the rods depends on the exact purpose and is preferably between 5 and 10 mm. In order to get a good use in the drain opening, the rod ends are chamfered.
- an upper rod which is preferably arranged in the center line
- the rods can be dispensed with entirely if the plate 15 is designed such that it does not slip into the drain pipe 7 . That is, in its upper area it is wider than in its lower area, which corresponds to the diameter of the lower part of the drain inlet except for a tolerance.
- the width profile of the plate would be within a tolerance of the vertical cross-sectional profile correspond to its center line.
- T-shaped drain inlet only the lower part of the plate would have to be designed to a tolerance as wide as the drain cross-section and the upper part so wide that the plate cannot slip into the pipe.
- the plates do not have to be vertical, but can be inclined to the drain pipe axis or arranged helically. In this embodiment, however, care must be taken that the free spaces between the pipe wall of the drain inlet and the plate surface remain large enough, i. H. a quarter of the drain pipe cross-section is not significantly undercut.
- rollers can also be inserted into the edges in order to enable rotation, driven by the outflowing water, in the outlet opening.
- the gutter strainer instead of assembling the gutter strainer from a plate 15 and six partial bars 9a, 9b, 10a, 10b, 11a and 11b , it can also be produced as a preferably one-piece injection molded part.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a trough strainer according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
Gemäß Duden, "Das große Wörterbuch der deutschen Sprache Band 5, Bibliographisches Institut Mannheim/Wien/Zürich, 1980, Stichwort: "Seiher", ist ein Seiher ein Filter für Flüssigkeiten.According to Duden, "The Great Dictionary of the German Language
Known gutter strainers consist of a mushroom-shaped insert bent from wire parts that can be partially inserted into the gutter inlet. The gaps between the individual wire loops are a few millimeters. The well-known gutter seers retain objects of a few millimeters washed up in the gutter.
The object of the invention is to provide a gutter strainer which, as far as possible, no longer, in particular, no longer has to be cleaned from leaves clogging it.
The object is achieved in that, in contrast to the known gutter strainers, a slit-shaped grid is no longer placed around the drain opening, but rather the drain opening itself is subdivided over a wide area, as a result of which all objects which could get stuck within the course of the drain are kept away; Objects which, however, can be flushed through and which have previously clogged the known gutter filters are allowed to pass through.
A large-scale subdivision means a halving, thirding to sixth of the drain pipe or drain inlet.
The gutter strainer according to the invention is therefore no longer a strainer in the narrower sense of the word according to Duden, since it only retains objects from a size that clogs the pipe, but is no longer a liquid filter. However, the term gutter strainer continues due to the same scope as the known gutter strainers used.
Through the use of bars or a plate that can be replaced approximately horizontally in the drain inlet, a cross-sectional subdivision is generated which prevents the pipe from blocking objects. Furthermore, this basic design idea enables a significantly less expensive production method than that of the known gutter strainer made of wire.
In a preferred embodiment of the gutter strainer according to the invention with a part protruding through the drain opening, parts fallen into the gutter, such as, for. B. a tennis ball held only over one of the free spaces created by the subdivision, while the rest remain free for unimpeded water drainage. Taller objects are held up by the protruding part, so that there is a free space under them. Clogging of the entire drain opening is excluded.
The bars with the plate are preferably held at a distance from one another. The width of the plate is preferably selected to be smaller than the outlet pipe diameter by a tolerance. The thickness of the plate depends only on the desired mechanical stability or the required total weight so that it does not float. If the bars on the left and right of the plate are in alignment with one another and of the same length or adapted to the (tapering) cross section of the drain inlet, the gutter drain is well centered in the drain inlet, particularly when three bars are used. Instead of the plate, of course, other structural elements, such as. B. only struts can be used to distance the bars from each other or to create a subdivision. However, a plate is an extremely inexpensive item.
The plate is preferably designed to be vertical, but can also be designed to be inclined, especially if it is intended to cause the gutter sieve to rotate by the water flowing off. Rollers can also be used for this purpose on the plate sides or on the free end face of the rods.
The gutter strainer is preferably made of weatherproof and UV-resistant plastic. As a result, it is inexpensive to manufacture and protected against corrosion. However, the weight should be chosen so large that it does not float when there is a large amount of water running off. The gutter strainer could also be made of metal, which should then advantageously be provided with a protective plastic coating.
In a preferred embodiment with three bars, two bars are arranged laterally symmetrically in the top of the plate and a third bar is arranged in the middle at the bottom. The lower rod is slightly smaller than the diameter of the drain pipe diameter and the two upper rods are so long that they fit into the widening funnel of the drain pipe. Drain pipes and gutters are manufactured according to standard dimensions. The gutter strainer just described fits not only in funnel-shaped drainpipe entrances but also in those that form a "T" with the gutter.

The gutter strainer 1 shown in a top view in FIG. 1 and in a side view in FIG. 2 can enter a funnel-shaped as well as a T-
The
Due to the structure of the gutter strainer according to the invention, larger objects with a diameter which corresponds approximately to the distance between the upper two
The plate and rod dimensions are selected to match the nominal sizes NG 50, NG 60, NG 75, NG 100 and NG 120. For example, a gutter sieve matching NG 50 has a
Instead of using three rods, only an upper rod, which is preferably arranged in the center line, can be used. The rods can be dispensed with entirely if the
Instead of a single plate, several can preferably be used together, e.g. B. plates connected along its center line can be used.
Also, the plates do not have to be vertical, but can be inclined to the drain pipe axis or arranged helically. In this embodiment, however, care must be taken that the free spaces between the pipe wall of the drain inlet and the plate surface remain large enough, i. H. a quarter of the drain pipe cross-section is not significantly undercut. In the case of an inclined plate arrangement, rollers can also be inserted into the edges in order to enable rotation, driven by the outflowing water, in the outlet opening.
Instead of assembling the gutter strainer from a
