Abstract

The gluing device has a number of holes (12) in the first layer (3) of the roll near the beginning of the paper strip., and a double-sided glue strip on the outside of the first layer of the roll, at least partly overlapping the holes. The glue forced through the holes attaches the beginning (2) of the paper strip to the second layer (8). The holes are in a part of the first layer near the beginning of the roll. There is a clearance between the edges of the holes and the beginning of the roll. The cross section of the holes in the first layer of the paper strip may be round or of some other geometric shape.

Description

The invention relates to an adhesive arrangement for preparing a supply paper web roll for paper web rolls to be connected to one another in accordance with the preamble of claim 1.

Dabei sind die äußeren Zonen mit Klebstoff versehen und die mittlere Zone ist perforiert und klebstofffrei ausgebildet.EP 04 18 527 A2 discloses a method for preparing a roll of web-shaped printing material for automatic roll changers, with which an adhesive strip is used to fasten the beginning of the roll of the printing material web on the outer printing material web layer, which is divided into three zones over its entire length. The outer zones are provided with adhesive and the middle zone is perforated and adhesive-free.

As a result of the application of adhesive on both sides, in addition to the printing material webs to be connected, the adhesive strip used in this process has a high load on the cylinders when they pass through rotary printing machines. This can lead to permanent deformations in the printing blanket, which leads to premature wear.
Further sequelae are that when further processing the material web by slitting or folding devices the Knives when cutting such multi-layered connecting elements in the long run have greater signs of wear.
Finally, it is also disadvantageous that the three-zone adhesive strip known by the above-mentioned method has a different, ie asymmetrical, thickness, so that this three-zone adhesive strip cannot be rolled up symmetrically. This is both disadvantageous for warehousing and disadvantageous for an automated feed for preparing the adhesive for the material webs. Furthermore, so-called tumbler labels are also known, which are attached individually and mostly at right angles to the beginning of the first layer of the paper web and define this first layer on the second layer of the paper web. A disadvantage of these tumbler labels, however, is that they have to be applied individually and thus time-consuming to the beginning of the paper web and, in addition, an additional adhesive strip for connecting the stock paper web roll to the outgoing paper web roll must be applied to the stock paper roll.

The invention has for its object to provide a label-free adhesive arrangement for preparing a new supply paper web reel for connection to an outgoing paper web reel in a reel changer, which with good machine movement is easy both in the reel changer can be produced on site as well as in an automatic station for producing adhesive tips.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.

The following advantages are achieved in particular by the invention:
As a result of the application of a known, simple and imperforate strip of adhesive running parallel to the beginning of the paper web and the adhesive passing through the openings in the top layer of the paper web onto the second layer of the paper web, an adhesive arrangement can be prepared with little effort and without so-called locking labels in preparation for the connection of the first layer a new stock paper web roll was created with the paper web of an expired paper web roll. With regard to its thickness, this strip of adhesive guarantees damage-free machine movement and uncomplicated connection of two paper webs with subsequent separation of the first paper web layer glued onto the second paper web layer from the first paper web layer. The adhesive force of the beginning of the first layer of the paper web on the second layer of the paper web is such that when the paper web roll is turned in the start-up phase, the air resistance forces alone cannot cause the beginning of the stock paper web roll to open automatically. The adhesive strip used is easy to roll up due to its uniform cross-section.

A paper web roll as a supply paper web roll for connection to an almost expired paper web roll has in the vicinity of its paper web start 2 the outermost or first layer 3 of the paper web a plurality of openings or holes 4 which are parallel to the paper web start 2, z. B. run parallel to the axis of the stock paper roll, but the Do not touch the beginning of the paper web 2 (Fig. 1). These holes 4 are preferably circular in cross section; however, they can also have an oval, rectangular, triangular or a cross-section of any geometric shape. About these holes 4 made in the first layer 3 of the paper web, a double-sided adhesive strip 6 is applied, which extends with its side line 7 parallel to the beginning of the paper web 2 of the first layer 3 of the paper web and its adhesive through the holes in the first layer 3 of the paper web 4 occurs and thus defines the beginning of the first layer 3 of the paper web on a second layer 8 of the paper web. The holes 4 can be completely or only partially covered with the adhesive strip 6. Thus, the effectiveness of attaching the first layer 3 of the paper web to the second layer 8 of the paper web is, in addition to the adhesive force of the adhesive, of the diameter d of the holes 4, the distance a of the holes 4 from one another and the degree of coverage of the holes 4 by the adhesive strip 6 dependent and thus adjustable. The diameter of each hole 4 can be three to five millimeters. The distance a between the holes 4 in the axis-parallel direction can be between 50 and 100 millimeters. Two rows of holes can also run parallel to one another in the direction parallel to the axis. The adhesive strip 6 has a width b, which can be between 12 and 50 millimeters. The holes 4 are in one Area of the first layer 3 of the paper web near the beginning of the paper web, so that there is a small distance e between the point of the holes 4 closest to the beginning of the paper web and the beginning of the paper web 2 of the first layer 3. This distance e is at least 0.2 times a diameter d of a hole 4.

It is also possible to form the beginning of the paper web 2 of the first layer 3 of the paper web in its course deviating from an axis parallel, z. B. oblique, V-shaped, W-shaped or double W-shaped. The side line 7 of the adhesive strip 6 either runs congruent to the beginning of the paper web 2 of the first layer 3 of the paper web, or the beginning of the paper web 2 and the side line 7 run parallel to one another at a distance. In the latter case, however, the side line 7 of the adhesive strip 6 is on the beginning 9 of the first layer 3 of the paper web and not on the second layer 8 of the paper web.

The connection of the paper web of a supply paper web roll to one of a paper web roll coming to an end is carried out in a known manner, such as, for. B. in DE 42 10 329 A1. The end of the paper web is pressed by means of a pressure roller onto the start 9 of the first layer 3 of the supply paper roll, so that the end of the paper web is that of the first layer 3 of the paper web touches away surface 11 of the adhesive strip 6, whereby the beginning 9 of the first layer 3 of the paper web is glued. After this connection of the two paper webs, the circular adhesive sites separate from the second layer 8 of the paper web, so that the connection process of both paper webs is hereby ended. Commercially available adhesive tape can be used as the adhesive tape. After the pressure roller mentioned and still inside the reel changer, a roll that can be placed on the paper web or a guide roller that is present in the paper path can be expediently wrapped around the outside of the paper web running off the paper web roll, so that the hole-shaped adhesive residues adhering to the paper web are deactivated , e.g. B. by means of silicone, powder or the like. Known means.

In a further embodiment, a supply paper roll on its paper web start 2 of the outermost or first layer 3 of the paper web has a plurality of recesses or holes 12 which are parallel to the paper web start 2 and z. B. run parallel to the axis of the paper web roll (FIG. 4) and touch the beginning of the paper web 2 of the first layer 3 of the paper web. These holes 12 are preferably triangular in cross section, so that their base lines 10 are congruent with the beginning of the paper web 2 of the first layer 3 of the paper web run and their heights h extend at right angles to the beginning of the paper web 2 of the first layer 3 of the paper web. The base line 10 of each triangular recess or triangular hole 12 at the beginning of the paper web 2 of the first layer 3 of the paper web is in each case indicated by the points 13; 14 and the height h is determined on the one hand by the base line 10 and on the other hand by an intersection 16 of the two from the points 13; 14 outgoing straight lines 17; 18 limited. However, these holes 12 can also have a part of a round, oval or any other geometrical shape. The holes 12 may also have a circular cross-section, the secant of which runs on the beginning of the paper web 2 and corresponds to the base line 10. It is important that this geometric shape has a connection to the beginning of the paper web 2 of the first layer 3 of the paper web, ie it is open and starting from the beginning of the paper web 2, tapers against the direction of rotation of the supply paper web roll, ie in the direction of the intersection 16 of the two straight lines 17, 18. A double-sided adhesive strip 6 is applied over these holes 12 located in a strip-shaped area 19 of the beginning of the paper web 2 of the first layer 3 of the paper web, so that a triangular adhesive surface 21 is formed on the second layer 8 of the paper web, which is formed both by the side line 7 of the Adhesive strip 6, which the two straight lines 17; 18 in points 22; 23 intersects, as well as through the intersection 16 of the two Straight line 17; 18 is limited. The beginning of the paper web 2 of the first layer 3 of the paper web can deviate from an axis parallel (as shown in Fig. 4), z. B. oblique, V-shaped, W-shaped or double W-shaped. As indicated in the first exemplary embodiment, the side line 7 of the adhesive strip 6 likewise runs either congruent with the beginning of the paper web 2 of the first layer 3 of the paper web or the beginning of the paper web 2 and the side line 7 run parallel to one another at a strip-shaped distance f. The width of the strip-shaped distance f can, for. B. equal to the height h of the hole 12 or a portion of this height h, so that the holes 12 are completely or partially covered by the adhesive strip 6 and thus analogous to the first embodiment, the adhesive force of the adhesive points is adjustable. In the latter case, the side line 7 of the adhesive strip 6 is also on the beginning of the first layer 3 of the paper web and not on the second layer 8 of the paper web. A distance a between the holes 12 and a width b of the adhesive strip are dimensioned in each case as set out in the first exemplary embodiment.
