Definitions
- the invention relates to a valve lash adjuster according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Another document DE 40 31 834 A1 describes a valve lash adjuster a tappet and a hydraulic pressure chamber between the spring plate and Cup tappet body known, in which the cup tappet body receives the spring plate, which in turn is connected to the end of the valve stem.
- This version of the Sealing element of the pressure chamber has the disadvantage that an additional Spring element must be provided that fixes the sealing ring in its position and through which the overall installation space of the device is increased in the axial direction.
- the edge contact of the sealing ring on the inner wall of the Bucket tappet does not provide a sufficiently secure seal for the pressure chamber, even with one long operating period of the valve lash adjuster.
- the invention is therefore based on the object, a generic To optimize valve clearance compensation device in terms of overall height and weight and also to further develop the sealing of the pressure chamber in such a way that it is constructive simple means can be realized and is also so wear resistant that also secure sealing of the pressure chamber during a long period of operation pressure on the tappet is guaranteed.
- the solution to this Task succeeds with the features of claim 1.
- Advantageous embodiments are named in the dependent agreements.
- the object is achieved in that the cam acted upon component in a simple manner is designed as a cup that spans the spring plate is formed, which at the same time the pressure chamber of the Valve clearance compensation device limited.
- This mug can be in this function to meet the demands of being lightweight, because thin-walled, component can be designed.
- a valve lash adjuster in the usual sense, as separately manufactured and assembly to be inserted into the tappet is omitted.
- the spring plate limits the pressure space on the other side, for which he is firmly connected to the valve stem end is.
- At least one spring engages on the spring plate, a carrier ring provided with a seal for sealing the gap between the spring plate and cup shell being clamped between these two components.
- This spring can be the valve closing spring and / or a further spring is arranged between the cup base and a top surface of the spring plate, which prestresses a further carrier ring with a seal.
- This further carrier ring can alternatively be installed without a further spring, provided that it is essentially oil-tight and is therefore pressed onto the spring plate by the fed-in engine oil pressure.
- the seal can be designed as a rubber-elastic double lip seal which has a hydraulic space between its lips and the cup shell for receiving pressure oil.
- the sealing lip facing the cup bottom acts as a non-return valve.
- the support ring facing the cup bottom can directly seal against the cup shell with an outer wall, while the seal to the globe valve is provided by a rubber-elastic seal on the support ring assigned to the valve closing spring.
- valve stem end and spring plate by a detachable Clamping devices e.g. B, in the form of a nut, which onto a threaded end portion of the valve stem is put on.
- the end area is with one shoulder provided and penetrates the spring plate centrally, so that this between the shoulder and the clamping device.
- a cylinder head 1 of an internal combustion engine has a receptacle 2 for slidably guiding a bucket tappet, generally designated 3.
- a cam 5 arranged on a camshaft 4 actuates, by means of the bucket tappet 3, a lift valve designated overall by 6, of which only one valve stem 7 and its end region 8 are shown in the figures.
- a spring plate 9 Arranged on the end region 8 is a spring plate 9 which is fixedly connected to the lifting valve 6 and is fastened between a shoulder 10 formed by a conical seat and a tensioning means formed by a nut 11.
- the end region 8 passes through the spring plate 9 and carries a thread assigned to the nut 11.
- a surface 12 of the spring plate 9 serves to support a valve closing spring 13, which extends at least partially in the cup tappet 3 and is supported in the cylinder head 1 in a manner not shown.
- the cup tappet 3 is formed from a cup 15 having a hollow cylindrical jacket 14 with a cup base 16 acted upon by the cam 5.
- a cup-shaped support ring 19 is clamped between this cup base 16 and a cover surface 17 of the spring plate 9 opposite the surface 12 by means of a compression spring 18.
- the carrier ring 19 is designed to be angular in its radially outer region and carries a seal 21 on an outer wall 20 that at least partially encompasses the compression spring 18. This seals the pressure space 22 formed between the cup base 16 and the spring plate 9.
- the sealing lips 23 and 24 are arranged so that the Pressure in the pressure chamber 22 or hydraulic chamber 25 increases the sealing forces, with which these sealing lips 23 and 24 on the inner surface of the jacket 14 support so that during the valve opening phases a secure sealing effect, that is, a perfect one Sealing a gap 28 between the jacket 14 and Spring plate 9 is guaranteed.
- Both the pressure chamber 22 is in operation of the internal combustion engine as well as the hydraulic chamber 25 with the pressure medium channel 27 supplied pressure oil filled. If necessary Adjustment of the valve clearance lifts the sealing lip 23 from the Inner surface of the jacket 14 off and pressure oil is in the pressure chamber 22 updated. While in the embodiment of Figure 1 Support ring 19 is provided with a central opening 29 in the variant of Figure 2, the carrier ring 19 with a Mother 11 overlapping bulge 30 provided. The opening 29 serves the passage of the end region 8, while the according Figure 2 closed version reduced the pressure chamber 22.
- the seal 21 expediently has, as shown, a metal base body, so that between seal 21 and Cover surface 17 of the spring plate 9 also for example due to thermal expansion or shortening of the Valve stem 7 minimum leaks are ensured. Moreover lets this - self-adjusting - seal 21 through a radial displacement an offset between the spring plate 9 and coat 14 too.
- the pressure oil can also be supplied through several holes Type of bore 26 take place. Is only such an oil supply Bore 26 exists, one extends into the receptacle 2 pierced groove 31 in a rotating during operation Cup tappet 3 over the entire circumference, otherwise one groove extending only over the corresponding partial circumference be provided.
- the axial extent of this groove 31 can be so be large that the bore 14 communicates continuously with this groove 31. This effect can also be caused by axial flattening in the area of the bore 26, that is to say in the cup 15, get supported.
- the spring plate can be used to facilitate the tightening of the nut 11 9 provided with a profile for attaching a tool his.
- the design of the seal 21 according to FIG. 2 is also in this respect advantageous as any sealing problems between the carrier ring 19th and top surface 17 of the spring plate 9 and thus any Surface processing are avoided.
- the pressure chamber 22 is here also closed during a transport in production, which prevents contamination.
- the bulge 30 can have a minimal leakage with a leakage hole 32 may be provided, for example in the region of the longitudinal axis the tappet 3.
- the engine oil pressure present in the pressure chamber 22 may possibly be the Carrier ring 19 in a sufficient manner on top surface 17 press so that the compression spring 18 can be omitted.
- top surface 17 has a depression 33, which extends to the lift valve 6, for receiving the nut 11.
- a single carrier ring 19 is clamped between a flange 34 of the spring plate 9 and the valve closing spring 13 and in turn carries on its outer wall 20 a seal 21 provided with two sealing lips 23, 24.
- the recessed arrangement of the nut 11 and the extension of the carrier ring 19 and the seal 21 exclusively on the side of the cover surface 17 facing away from the cup base 16 significantly reduce the overall height.
- the embodiment according to FIG. 4 has both a support ring 19 pressed by the compression spring 18 onto the cover surface 17, which is in direct contact with the inner surface of the casing 14 by means of an outer wall 20 which is coaxial with the casing 14 and is designed as an annular surface 35 by the valve closing spring 13 against the surface 12 pressed further support ring 19.
- the pressure chamber 22 is sealed by the carrier ring 19, which is designed as a metallic angle ring and is acted upon by the compression spring 18, the latter being guided radially with minimal play in the jacket 14 and flat on the spring plate 9 lies on.
- This version has increased stability.
- the opening 29 in turn includes the nut 11 coaxially, which is supported on a bottom 36 of the recess 33.
- pressure oil is fed into the hydraulic chamber 25 via the pressure medium channel 27, the groove 31 and the bore 26.
- the carrier ring 19 lifts against the spring force of the compression spring 18 from the cover surface 17 acting as a seat surface and thus enables the access of pressure oil.
- Figures 5a to 5d illustrate the influence of various Designs of tappets to the overall height of a cylinder head 1.
- Figure 5a for comparison one from the applicant shows the standard tappet, corresponds to the figure 5b of the first embodiment of the invention, Figure 5c of the second and Figure 5d of the third embodiment of the invention.
- a line 40 represents the upper end as a basis for comparison the valve closing spring 13 as long as the cam 5 on his Base circle is running.
- a parallel through the middle of the Camshaft 4 of line 41 in FIG. 5a represents the initial situation
- Figures 5b to 5d are each for Line 41 parallel lines 42 through the respective center of the Camshaft 4 applied. The resulting reduction in Overall height is measured by the distances 43, 44 and 45, respectively shown between lines 42 and line 41.
