Claims (7)

  1. A quenching plate pack for an arc quenching chamber (1) for switches, especially for line protection switches, consisting of quenching plates (2) arranged parallel to one another or in fan shape, a holder part (4) of insulating material with a U-shaped cross-sectional form, in which the quenching plates (2) are fitted in fixed positions and which has arc exit openings (14), each arranged between adjacent quenching plates (2), in its web (11) opposite to the arc entrance, characterized in that at least one rib (15, 16) projects outwardly from the web (11) of the U-shaped holder part (4) and separates adjacent arc exit openings (14) from one another, and in that the rib (15 or 16) has a sinuous shape and surrounds respective opposite regions of adjacent arc exit openings (14) substantially over half their periphery.
  2. A quenching plate pack for an arc quenching chamber according to claim 1, characterized in that two rows (12, 13) of arc exit openings (14) are provided in the web (11) of the U-shaped holder part.
  3. A quenching plate pack for an arc quenching chamber according to claim 2, characterized in that two ribs (15, 16) are provided and in that the one rib (15) runs mirror symmetrical to the other rib (16).
  4. A quenching plate pack for an arc quenching chamber according to any of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the arc exit openings (14) are in the form of slots whose longer extent runs parallel to the quenching plates (2).
  5. A quenching plate pack for an arc quenching chamber according to any of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the rib (15, 16) is attached to the web (11) in one piece therewith.
  6. A quenching plate pack for an arc quenching chamber according to any of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the quenching plates (2) carry strip-shaped projections (5, 6) on their long edges, extending therefrom and lying in the plane of the quenching plates (2) and which engage in correspondingly shaped openings (7, 8) in the limbs (9, 10) of the U-shaped holder part (4).
  7. A quenching plate pack for an arc quenching chamber according to claim 6, characterized in that projections (5, 6) carried by the quenching plates (2) project into all of the openings (7, 8) provided in the limbs (9, 10) of the U-shaped holder part (4).
