Definitions

  • the invention relates to a soft film packaging for cuboid stacks of flexible flat objects, in particular folded paper handkerchiefs, with plane-parallel top walls, two narrower side walls connecting them, two shorter, plane-parallel end walls, and with a line of weakness to delimit a rounded-off, rounded-off surface section for the production of an opening for the removal of individual objects which does not impair the shape of the packaging without the need for an adhesive strip which closes the opening again.
  • this additional adhesive strip to be attached means additional expenditure on material and production, and is also associated with the defect that, if the strip of strips is not carefully sealed, it may also adhere to the handkerchiefs and thereby, as well as through dust, lose adhesive strength. In addition, if the openings are too large, the shape of the packaging becomes unstable even when sealed with the adhesive strip.
  • a paper tissue pack without adhesive strips is also known (EP-A-225 865), which has a circularly prepared removal opening in a main surface of the packaging.
  • the handkerchiefs inside are folded in a special way, and under this circular opening is a fold or a corner of the top handkerchief.
  • This measure should make it possible to grasp a handkerchief at the edge or at the corner and pull it out of this circular opening, the handkerchief being intended to unfold at the same time.
  • this known solution requires a relatively large removal opening, because otherwise the handkerchief cannot be removed without tearing.
  • the larger the removal opening the more likely such a package tends to contaminate the contents and to poor dimensional stability.
  • the present invention has for its object to provide a soft film packaging for flexible flat objects, in particular folded paper handkerchiefs, which does not require adhesive strips for subsequent sealing after use, retains good shape stability after opening and has only a low tendency to contamination, and that overall, it is simple and inexpensive to manufacture at high packaging speeds.
  • a soft film packaging of the type mentioned at the outset is characterized by a first weakening line which delimits the surface section which can be torn open or torn off and which extends from a top wall into the adjacent end wall via an intermediate packaging edge, the surface section being approximately one third of the length of the packing edge, and two second weakening lines extending in the region of this packing edge between the first weakening line on both sides up to the adjacent corners.
  • Such soft film packaging can be opened in a simple manner by tearing open or tearing off the surface section along the first weakening line. Then the flat object lying on top in the packaging (e.g. paper handkerchief) can be easily gripped and pulled out of the area of the packaging edge, this area then tearing open along the second weakening lines so that the flat object can be removed as a whole, or the second weakening lines are torn open by reaching into the opening made by tearing or tearing along the first line of weakness. Even after the objects, in particular paper handkerchiefs, have been removed, basically only the opening remains along the first weakening line, while the opening region along the second weakening lines essentially closes again due to its area on the packaging edge.
  • the flat object lying on top in the packaging e.g. paper handkerchief
  • the surface section preferably has an approximately circular or oval shape, so that it forms along the first weakening line when it is torn open or torn off, without uncontrolled tearing lines being produced.
  • the surface section can be closed, so that it is generally torn off completely when opened.
  • the first line of weakness bordering the surface section is interrupted in the region of the end wall adjoining the top wall in such a way that the surface section can only be torn open but still remains connected to the end wall.
  • the surface section preferably has an extension of approximately 15-20 mm, so that it can be torn open or torn off in one piece in a simple manner and enables the object lying on top (handkerchief) to be securely gripped.
  • the surface section is preferably arranged centrally between the two corners.
  • the second lines of weakness are not arranged exactly along the packaging edge, but rather at a small distance in the top wall parallel to the packaging edge, e.g. at a distance of 2 mm. This ensures that the second lines of weakness are outside the rounding between the surfaces of the packaging, and thus the opening in this area closes again after an object has been removed.
  • the first and second lines of weakness are preferably line perforation lines. To make it easier to open the packaging along the first weakening line, it is also possible to form a short part of this first weakening line lying on the top wall as a separating cut.
  • the part of the first weakening line designed as a separating cut has a chord dimension of approximately 8-10 mm and is arranged approximately symmetrically in the center of the surface section.
  • the soft film packaging shown in FIG. 1 contains a cuboid stack of folded paper handkerchiefs 13 or other flexible flat objects.
  • the packaging has two plane-parallel cover walls 1, 2 and four side walls 3, 4, 5, 6 connecting these cover walls 1, 2. Due to the format, the side walls 5 and 6 of these side walls are designed as shorter end walls.
  • FIG. 2 A corresponding film cut can be seen in FIG. 2.
  • the front cover wall 1 and the rear cover wall 2 are connected to one another by the side walls 3 and 4, the side wall 4 consisting of the two sections 4a and 4b which are glued or welded to one another.
  • the end walls 5 and 6 are composed of sections 5a-5d and 6a-6d.
  • a first dividing line 8a, 8b, which delimits a circular or oval surface section 7, is attached over the packing edge 10 between the upper cover wall 1 and the end wall 5 (section 5a).
  • second lines of weakness 9 extend into the adjoining corners 11 of the packaging.
  • the surface section 7 is first torn or torn along the first weakening line 8a, 8b.
  • the uppermost paper handkerchief 13 or the like can be grasped through the opening created thereby and pulled out as a whole.
  • the second lines of weakness 9 tear open, so that an opening is formed over the full width of the package.
  • the opening area which arises along the second weakening lines 9 closes again automatically, since it is automatically drawn into the closed position by the geometry of the pack and the position on the pack edge 10. All that remains is the opening delimited by the first weakening line 8a, 8b, which is, however, relatively small compared to the package, so that the risk of contamination is low.
  • the second weakening lines 9 are not exactly on the packing edge 10, but at a short distance from e.g. Arranged 2 mm from the packing edge 10 on the top wall 1. Due to this position, the second line of weakness 9 lies outside the rounding of the pack, so that it better closes by itself after a handkerchief 13 or the like has been removed.
  • the extent of the surface section 7, which is delimited by the first weakening line 8a, 8b, along the packing edge 10 (or also the packing edge 12) is approximately 15-20 mm. This size is a good compromise between easy grasping of the uppermost object 13 and the smallest possible opening remaining after the first removal.
  • the extension is approximately one third of the length of the packing edge 10, and is arranged approximately centrally between the two adjacent corners 11.
  • Both the first weakening line 8a, 8b and the second weakening lines 9 are preferably line perforation lines in order to keep the pack well closed on the one hand and on the other hand enable targeted opening along the lines of weakness.
  • the first weakening line 8a, 8b has so far been described as a homogeneous weakening line.
  • the package or the surface section 7 can be opened particularly well if the first weakening line is formed from a part 8a with line perforation and a centrally arranged part 8b with a separating cut.
  • a finger can be pushed and pressed down along the top wall 1 in the direction of the separating cut area 8b so that it can subsequently be torn open by pushing the finger under the surface section 7.
  • the shape of the surface section 7 is circular or oval in the present exemplary embodiment. However, other shapes with rounded corners are also conceivable in order to prevent incorrect tearing when opening or tearing.
  • the surface section 7 is delimited by the first weakening line 8a, 8b in the exemplary embodiment described, but it has no closed shape. This means that when the package is torn, the surface section 7 remains hinged to the end wall 5, which has the advantage that the surface section 7 remains largely captive on the package and does not pollute the environment.
  • the packaging according to the invention can also be provided with a surface section which is delimited by a closed first weakening line 8a, 8b; however, there is a risk here that after tearing open the surface section 7, it will be torn off completely and get lost.
