Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Anlegen einer aus bandförmigem Verpackungsmaterial, welches von einem Coil abgezogen wird, aufgebauten Verpackung an eine Mehrzahl von gleichen, Packgutelementen, die zu einer Packgutgesamtheit zusammengefügt sind. Es versteht sich, daß die Packgutgesamtheit eine kubische Gestaltung aufweist, die sich aus dem Zusammenfügen der Packgutelemente ergibt. Im Rahmen der bekannten Maßnahmen, von denen die Erfindung ausgeht (EP 0 313 721 A2), werden aus dem bandförmigen Verpackungsmaterial Verpackungsstäbe geformt, die an die Kanten und Ecken der Packgutgesamtheit angelegt und zu einem Rahmentragwerk zusammengesetzt werden. Das hat sich bewährt, verlangt aber ein entsprechendes steifes Verpackungsmaterial, welches die beschriebene Stab- und Rahmenfunktion erfüllen kann. Das ist aufwendig. Im übrigen weisen aus einer vorgegebenen Mehrzahl von kubischen Packgutelementen aufgebaute Packgutgesamtheiten nicht unbeachtliche Toleranzen auf, die sich in der Breite und in der Länge bzw. in der Höhe zu Toleranzen von 10 bis 20 mm addieren können. Werden die Stäbe und das Rahmentragwerk nach Maßgabe der maximal auftretenden Toleranzen dimensioniert, so kann die so aufgebaute Verpackung die Packgutgesamtheit nicht als Straffverpackung umgeben. Grundsätzlich ist es bekannt (DE 40 27 762 C1), zur Herstellung einer Verpackung für stückiges Packgut, die aus einem Rahmentragwerk aus winkelförmigen Elementen aus Verpackungsmaterial mit zumindest einem offenen Rahmenfeld aufgebaut ist und bei der ein Streifen aus dem Verpackungsmaterial an das Packgut angelegt und der an dem Packgut anliegende Streifen zu einer Umreifung geschlossen wird, den Streifen als ebenen Materialstreifen von einem Coil abzuziehen, straff mit überstehendem Rand an das Packgut anzulegen und erst am Packgut winkelförmig umzufalten, wobei überlappende Endabschnitte miteinander verbunden werden. Das hat sich bewährt und erlaubt den Aufbau einer Straffverpackung, bei der die beschriebenen Toleranzprobleme nicht auftreten, und die es erlaubt, mit einem wenig steifen Verpackungsmaterial, beispielsweise in Form von sogenanntem Kraftpapier, zu arbeiten. Zur Lösung dieser Aufgabe ist Gegenstand der Erfindung ein Verfahren zum Anlegen einer aus bandförmigem Verpackungsmaterial, welches von einem Coil abgezogen wird, aufgebauten Verpackung an eine Mehrzahl von gleichen Verpackungselementen, die zu einer Packgutgesamtheit zusammengefügt sind, mit den Verfahrensschritten:
- a) Die Packgutgesamtheit wird auf einem Zuführförderer einer Verpackungsstation zugeführt,
- b) das Verpackungsmaterial wird von dem Coil abgezogen und beim Abziehen zumindest in einen traybildenden Verpackungsmaterialstreifen sowie einen Kopfumreifungsstreifen aufgetrennt,
- c) der traybildende Verpackungsmaterialstreifen sowie der Kopfumreifungsstreifen werden gemeinsam unter Bildung eines Abstandsspaltes, der der Höhe der Packgutgesamtheit angepaßt ist, vertikal der Verpackungsstation zugeführt und entsprechend dem Produktformat vorgespendet,
- d) die Packgutgesamtheit wird mit einer vorderen Stirnseite voraus an der Verpackungsstation quer zu dem traybildenden Verpackungsmaterialstreifen und dem Kopfumreifungsstreifen so verschoben und auf einen Abführförderer aufgeschoben, daß der Verpackungsmaterialstreifen sowie der Kopfumreifungsstreifen die Packgutgesamtheit U-förmig umschlingen und an der rückwärtigen Stirnseite Überstände des traybildenden Verpackungsmaterialstreifens sowie des Kopfumreifungsstreifens, die von den zulaufenden Streifen abgetrennt werden, frei bleiben,
- e) die Enden des traybildenden Verpackungsmaterialstreifens sowie die des Kopfumreifungsstreifens werden mit den Enden der Überstände zu Umreifungen miteinander verbunden,
- f) die über den Bodenrand der Packungsgesamtheit überstehenden Bereiche des traybildenden Verpackungsmaterialstreifens werden zu einem Trayrand oder zu einem Trayboden umgefaltet und fixiert,

Die Erfindung geht von der Erkenntnis aus, daß eine aus bandförmigem Verpackungsmaterial, welches von einem Coil abgezogen wird, aufgebaute Verpackung an einer Mehrzahl von gleichen Packgutelementen, die zu einer Packgutgesamtheit zusammengefügt sind, besonders einfach erzeugt werden kann, wenn die Kombination der beschriebenen Maßnahmen verwirklicht wird, die es erlaubt, die Packgutgesamtheit mit einer vorderen Stirnseite an der Verpackungsstation quer zu dem traybildenden Verpackungsmaterialstreifen und dem Kopfumreifungsstreifen in der beschriebenen Weise zu verschieben. Auf diese Weise kann mit kurzen Packzeiten gearbeitet werden, auch bleibt in der Verpackungsstation ausreichend Raum, um die entsprechenden Werkzeuge anzubringen. Der eigentliche Verpackungsvorgang wird dadurch herbeigeführt, daß die Packgutgesamtheit 12 mit einer vorderen Stirnseite voraus an der Verpackungsstation 9 quer zu dem traybildenden Verpackungsmaterialstreifen 7 und dem Kopfumreifungsstreifen 8 so verschoben und auf den Abführförderer 2 aufgeschoben wird, daß der Verpackungsmaterialstreifen 7 sowie der Kopfumreifungsstreifen 8 die Packgutgesamtheit 12 U-förmig umschlingt, wie es in der Fig. 1 dargestellt ist, jedoch so, daß an der rückwärtigen Stirnseite Überstände 14, 15 des traybildenden Verpackungsmaterialstreifens 7 sowie des Kopfumreifungsstreifens 8 bleiben, die von den zulaufenden Streifen 7, 8 abgetrennt wurden. Die Enden des traybildenden Verpackungsmaterialstreifens 7 sowie des Kopfumreifungsstreifens 8 werden mit den Enden der Überstände 14, 15 zu Umreifungen miteinander verbunden. Vergleicht man die Fig. 1 und 2, so erkennt man, daß die über den Bodenrand 16 einer Packgutgesamtheit 12 überstehenden Bereiche des traybildenden Verpackungsmaterialsstreifens 7 zu einem Trayrand 17 (Fig. 1) oder zu einem Trayboden 18 (Fig. 2) gefaltet und fixiert werden können. Die in bezug auf die Anlegung der Verpackung wesentlichen Verfahrensschritte werden an der auf dem Abführförderer 2 aufliegenden Packgutgesamtheit 12 durchgeführt, wobei eine Straffumreifung verwirklicht wird. Dabei kann kontinuierlich oder taktweise gearbeitet werden.The packaged
Im Rahmen der Erfindung können der traybildende Verpackungsmaterialstreifen 7 und die Kopfumreifungsstreifen 8 durch Längsfaltungen besonders gestaltet sein. Das zeigt die Fig. 4 mit den Teilfiguren 4a, 4b und 4c. Die Figuren zeigen jeweils links einen Querschnitt und rechts eine Ansicht, ausschnittsweise. Man erkennt in der Fig. 4a, daß der traybildende Verpackungsmaterialstreifen 7 vor dem Zuführen zur Verpackungsstation 9 durch eine Längsfaltung 19 mit einem Doppelstreifenbereich 20, der an die Seitenwände der Packgutgesamtheiten 12 angelegt wird, und mit einem Einfachstreifenbereich 21, der den Trayrand 17 oder den Trayboden 18 bildet, versehen wird. Die im Doppelstreifenbereich aneinanderliegenden Teile des traybildenden Verpackungsmaterialstreifens 7 können miteinander verklebt werden, was in der Fig. 4a durch eine gestrichelte Linie bei dem Bezugszeichen 22 angedeutet wurde. Man erkennt in den Fig. 4b und 4c, daß der Kopfumreifungsstreifen 8 vor dem Zuführen zur Verpackungsstation durch zwei Längsfaltungen 19 verdoppelt werden kann. Claims (7)
- A process for applying packaging built up from band-shaped packaging material, which is pulled off from a coil, to a plurality of identical package elements which are joined together to form a packaging goods entity, comprising the following process steps:a) the packaging goods entity is fed on a feeder conveyor to a packaging station,b) the packaging material is pulled off from the coil and is separated when pulled off into at least one tray-forming packaging material strip and one top hoop-casing strip,c) the tray-forming packaging material strip and the top hoop-casing strip are fed jointly and vertically to the packaging station with the formation of a spacing gap which is matched to the height of the packaging goods entity and are pre-dispensed corresponding to the product format,d) the packaging goods entity is moved to the packaging station, transversely to the tray-forming packaging material strip and to the hoop-casing strip, and with a front end face in front, and is pushed on to a discharge conveyor so that the packaging material strip and the top hoop-casing strip loop round the packaging goods entity in the shape of a U, and so that overhangs of the tray-forming packaging material strip and of the top hoop-casing strip, which are severed from the strips being fed, remain free on the back end face,e) the ends of the tray-forming packaging material strip and those of the top hoop-casing strip are joined to the ends of the overhangs to form hoop casings with each other,f) the regions of the tray-forming packaging material strip which project beyond the bottom edge of the packaging goods entity are folded and fixed to form a tray edge or a tray base,wherein process steps d), e) and f) are carried out on the packaging entity resting on the discharge conveyor.
- A process according to claim 1, wherein the tray-forming packaging material strip and the top hoop-casing strip are joined to form tightening hoop casings which are under a tensile stress.
- A process according to either one of claims 1 or 2, wherein the feeder conveyor and the discharge conveyor are moved continuously.
- A process according to either one of claims 1 or 2, wherein the feeder conveyor and the discharge conveyor are moved in cycles.
- A process according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein before it is fed to the packaging station the tray-forming packaging material strip is provided, by means of a longitudinal fold, with a double strip region which is applied to the sidewalls of the packaging goods entity, and with a single strip region which forms the tray edge or tray base.
- A process according to any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein the top hoop-casing strip is doubled by means of at least one longitudinal fold before it is fed to the packaging station.
- An apparatus for carrying out the process according to any one of claims 1 to 6, comprisinga feeder conveyor (1),a discharge conveyor (2) disposed at right angles thereto, a coil receiver (3), which is disposed above the level of the feeder conveyor (1) and of the discharge conveyor (2), for the band-shaped packaging material (4), having a band pull-off device (5) and a separating device (6) for separating the band-shaped packaging material (4) into a tray-forming packaging material strip (7) and a top hoop-casing strip (8),wherein the tray-forming packaging material strip (7) and the top hoop-casing strip (8) are conveyed jointly and running vertically, with the formation of a spacing gap, between the feeder conveyor (1) and the head of the discharge conveyor (2), and the packaging station (9), with its tools for carrying out process steps (d), (e) and (f), is disposed in this region.
