Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method and an installation. to make, from at least one strip of paper printed, documents printed in one or more sheets assembled, such as leaflets to be folded and arranged with an object in a package or container.
  • the invention is more particularly intended for pharmaceutical industry in order to achieve drug leaflets.
  • these notices consist of sheets of printed paper generally rectangular. These sheets are folded lengthwise, generally according to an accordion fold or rolled fold, to define a rectangular strip, the most large dimension corresponds to the width of the sheet of origin.
  • the strip is in turn folded to be housed in a container, usually cardboard, itself assembled by folding and gluing and in which is arranged a shell packaging tube or plate containing medicines, usually in the form of tablets.
  • the area and dimensions of the instructions must be compatible with the packaging called for contain the medication.
  • the packaging called for contain the medication For a given volume of packaging, and for a given form of packaging, only one surface and dimension data may be suitable.
  • the area of the record is limited by its length and its width.
  • the width of the notice i.e. the width of the paper strip, otherwise the folded leaflet would have a dimension superior to packaging.
  • the instructions are introduced in the packaging so that the dimension corresponding to the width of the original paper strip, either less than the total length of both sides longitudinal and bottom of the packaging, said notice being folded to form a sort of U.
  • the length of the notice is also limited by the constraints related to folder cutters. Indeed, the increase in length notices result in reduced speed operational of the bending machines. So all increased length of records affects performance of these machines, which is incompatible with usual economic imperatives.
  • the invention aims to remedy the drawbacks mentioned above and to make instructions for relatively large and without modification major of the usual cutters, which results in multiply by two, three or more, the useful area of notices without significantly affecting the total cost of realization of these.
  • successively one or more folds are carried out longitudinal of the strip, we superimpose the sub-strips thus obtained while rigidly assembling them between them on one of their longitudinal edges.
  • the strips of smaller dimension are superimposed using bars of turning or folding cones.
  • Three or more more bands can be made in this way small dimensions.
  • Pre-cutting can be done before or after the impression.
  • the process is completed by an initial step in which the paper strip is printed and by a step final in which the printed document is folded and placed in a container with an appropriate object.
  • the installation may include bars flipping or folding cones, two in number, three or more.
  • the installation may also include means for join on one of their longitudinal edges, one to the other, the strips of smaller dimensions.
  • the installation includes also a tape printing station and means packaging of printed and folded documents and a object in a container.
  • the block diagram of FIG. 1 comprises several functional blocks, each corresponding to a stage particular of a process aimed at achieving a instructions, folding and positioning with an object in a packaging or container.
  • the first step (block 1) consists of printing on a strip of paper rolled up on a roll, information in the form of block letters, logo, drawings, pictograms or any other information, general or particular, relating to the product.
  • such leaflets may include compulsory general information on use of a drug, and specific information about the drug in question, such as its definition, its dosage, its composition and its effects, accompanied by information about the same manufacturer company drug.
  • the supply coil feeds a block functional 3 allowing the manual to be produced, cut and folded.
  • the latter is brought to a machine called cartoner (block 4), itself receiving from a share the product packaging or container (block 5) and the product itself (block 6).
  • the cartoner is known in itself and ensures the shaping of the packaging, the introduction of the product into the latter, the final folding of the leaflet and the introduction of the leaflet in the packaging alongside the product, and finally the closure of the packaging or container, with the general reference 7 in figure 1.
  • Function block 3 has several stages according to the invention, namely the longitudinal cutting of the strip of paper from the reel 2 feed, the overlapping of the two narrower strips as well created, then an assembly operation on one of the edges longitudinal (optional operation), followed by cutting transverse of the paper strip to make a succession of strips of smaller width and length given, and finally the final folding of the instructions, this one being intended to be placed in the packaging 5 by cartoner 4.
  • Figure 2 shows a schematic section of a known type of packaging, such as packaging 7 in the figure 1, made of folded cardboard and assembled by gluing with example.
  • the packaging 7 is for example of shape parallelepipedic and is called to contain a product such than a tube 6 containing medicinal tablets.
  • the tube 6 has a cover 12 and is cylindrical in shape.
  • the packaging 7 has a bottom 13 folded down and glued to one of the walls at 14, and an opening 15 capable of to be closed by side flaps (of which only the flap 16 is visible) and a front flap 17, in a known manner in itself.
  • a notice 18 made up a strip of paper folded on itself, generally in accordion, to form a band again folded in a general U shape such as shown in cross section in Figure 2.
  • the supply coil 2 of a type known per se, is mounted on a frame 19 ( Figure 4).
  • the band of paper has a width for example of 280 millimeters, for a coiled length of around 4,000 meters.
  • the coil 2 supplies a work station allowing the longitudinal cutting of the strip into two more strips small width, called sub-band. So the gang of paper wound on reel 2, marked with the reference general 20 is cut in the middle substantially to form two sub-bands 20A and 20B of the same width.
  • the separation line between bands 20A and 20B is referenced 21 and is located substantially in the middle of the main band 20.
  • Workstation 8 ensuring cutting longitudinal, comprises a frame 22 comprising a roller introduction 23 on which the paper strip 20 travels. On the frame 22 are arranged two turning bars 24 and 25 parallel to each other and arranged at 45 ° by relative to the direction of travel of the main strip 20 at the output of coil 2.
  • the two turning bars are arranged in downstream of the introduction roller 23, about 30 centimeters of the last.
  • the first bar of reversal 24 allows the reversal of the first sub-band 20B
  • the second turning bar 25 ensures the reversal of the second sub-band 20A.
  • the turning takes place at 90 °. So, at the exit of the two turnbars 24 and 25, the two sub-bands 20A and 20B are arranged one on top of the other and have a direction of scrolling orthogonal to the direction of main strip scrolling 20.
  • the superimposed sub-bands 20A and 20B are routed by a call set with two rollers 27 and 28 between which the two sub-bands 20A pass by and 20B superimposed.
  • the latter are brought to a post of transverse cutting 10, known in itself and constituted for example of a roller 29 carrying an axial knife 30.
  • the diameter of the roller 29, the speed of rotation of this last, the frame rate of the sub-bands 20A and 20B, are calculated so that the knife 30 cuts transversely the two sub-bands 20A and 20B for define a section or segment 31 of two sub-bands of given length.
  • the strip sections 31, 32 shown in the FIG. 3 are routed to a folding device 11, known in itself and at the end of which the folded notice is conveyed by a transport device 33 to a cartoner 4 known in itself and not shown in detail in the figures.
  • the cartoner as it was described above, ensures the final folding of the instructions, placing the latter in the packaging 7 as well than product 6.
  • the method and the device or installation of this example of the invention allow to carry out a notice of larger area, without additional handling or substantial modification known cutters and folders.
  • the two sub-bands 20A and 20B once cut in segments at the outlet of the cutting station 10, have the shape of two strip segments or sections 31, superimposed.
  • the notice thus includes two segments of strip of the same surface, which doubles its total surface.
  • a sub-band securing station on one of the longitudinal edges of the latter.
  • the joining can be achieved by gluing, stapling, or any other known means.
  • the solidarity post symbolized by the functional block 9 in FIGS. 1 and 3, is not described further in detail, being known in itself.
  • FIGS. 6A to 6D show the different folding steps, known in themselves, notices consisting of sections such as section 31 of Figure 3.
  • the folding is carried out by the station 11, known in itself ( Figure 3).
  • Leaflet 31 consists of two sheets 31A and 31B joined by one of their longitudinal edges in 40 as described above. This notice is subject to first transverse fold in the middle along a line 41, the two halves being folded down substantially one towards the other. The two half-sides thus produced on the side and on the other side of the separation line 41, undergoing their turn each two folds along lines respectively 42 and 43 on the one hand, and 44 and 45 on the other hand, to form a sort of accordion shown in Figure 6B. The notice is then folded, still in accordion, to form a tongue 46, having a longitudinal direction, arrow l, and a transverse direction, arrow t, (figure 6C).
  • FIG. 6D shows the folding step end of the instructions in the longitudinal direction l, for form a sort of U, with two lateral branches parallel 47 and 48, and a transverse base 49 according to the direction t.
  • the interior of the U defines a volume 50 to the interior of which is able to accommodate the product 6 such as a tube containing drug tablets (figure 2).
  • These documents 51 are for example notices intended to be folded and arranged with an object 53 in a container 54 such as a cardboard box or case.
  • the method also included a step in which the paper strip is printed and then wound up to form the roll 56.
  • Printing 57 on strip 55 is carried out with a so that after the different stages of the process, the text and the indications appearing on the documents prints 51 follow each other.
  • the invention is also applicable in the case where there is has three or more sub-bands.
  • the first phase of realization can be the object of several variant embodiments.
  • This assembly is carried out by gluing or equivalent.
  • This assembly is carried out in such a way that the different sub-bands 55a, 55b are prevented from disassemble and the lateral displacement of a sub-band compared to another be prevented.
  • the documents once folded can be boxed with an object 53 in a container 54.
  • An installation as just described may also include a fourth station or set of means of cardboarding 51 printed documents and a object 53 in container 54
  • the installation may also include, upstream, a station for printing the strip of paper.
  • the first post or set of means preferably includes bonding means for the assembly between them of the sub-bands 55a, 55b on their common longitudinal edges 58.
