  • the strips used for the edge finishing of panels are normally wider than the edges of the panels to be edge-finished, since in this way it is more reliable and easier to edge-finish by adhesion of the strip, either cold or with the application of heat.
  • the opposite ends of the edge-finishing strips applied to each edge of the panel must also be cross-trimmed, to adjust these ends to the exact length of each edge.
  • the device of the invention is characterized in that said first surface is provided with a hard metal, anvil-like member forming said sharp end edge; in that said blade, in the active stroke thereof, moves from a first position which, relative to said anvil-like member, is situated at the side of said second surface, to a second position in which it overshoots said hard metal anvil-like member; and in that said second surface has a slot or recess immediately adjacent said first surface.

Therefore, this hard metal anvil-like member 4 may be removed either for replacement or for repair.
