Definitions
- the invention relates to a power strip with several electrical sockets in a row arrangement at least one upper, plug openings for with the sockets housing element to be connected with plugs are arranged, and with a lower housing element, the housing elements together containing the sockets Form housing; (see e.g. GB-A-2 097 199).
- Socket strips are available in multiple designs Available commercially. They often consist of two elongated ones Halves of the housing, the sockets on one of the two housing halves assembled or molded in one piece are. Power strips are often used in different Lengths with a different number of sockets manufactured and offered. It turns out to be disadvantageous here that separate injection molds are manufactured for each length have to be what the manufacture as a result of expensive injection molds, especially if only relatively small quantities for individual lengths getting produced. With integrally molded sockets it also proves to be a disadvantage that also for power strips of the same length, i.e. for power strips with an equal number of sockets, different Injection molds for different designs from Sockets need to be made.
- the upper housing elements have means for connection with each other and are then linked together Arrangement mounted on the strand material.
- This means for connection are preferably plug-in and counter-plug elements on the abutting sides of the top Housing elements formed.
- Busbars for the electrical connection of the sockets among themselves also contribute to a simple and quick assembly.
- the busbars are expedient in corresponding contact arrangements of Sockets designed to be pluggable.
- To uniform busbars use for any length of the power strip
- every busbar is for connection a contact arrangement of one of the upper housing elements with a contact arrangement of another of the top Housing elements formed.
- For every further Two further busbars are then added to the housing element (with two contacts of a socket).
- the upper housing elements can on the lower housing element pushed on, put on, snapped on or screwed on will.
- For pushing on the upper housing elements have guide rails and these guide rails receiving guide channels in the area of the longitudinal edges the upper housing elements and free ends of the Leg of the lower housing element as advantageous proven, when sliding the upper housing elements the guide strips on the lower housing element are inserted into the guide channels.
- the Guide rails expediently have one opposite a passage slot to the guide channel wider area running in the guide channel, so that the upper housing elements prevent the Leg of the lower housing element are expanded. This will improve the overall mechanical strength Power strip increased.
- the lower housing element has in particular an essential U-shaped cross-section, and the top Housing elements are used to cover the open long side of the lower housing element. This will the vast majority of the entire case through that inexpensive strand material formed.
- the cut-to-length strand material is also easier Possible without significant additional effort, at least one additional top, not with an outlet Provided housing element to be provided with a the socket-switching switch, a timer, a lightning protection device or other additional device is provided. This is the variability increased in the manufacture of power strips, and Special requests and special designs can be easily realized will.
- the end faces of the power strip are useful provided with end elements covering the housing, at least one of which has a cable passage opening has to the electrical connection cable in the To be able to insert housing.
- These closing elements are designed to be snap-on or screw-on in an advantageous manner. To make screwing on easy, has that serving as the lower housing element Extruded material profile areas with a longitudinal channel Anchoring retaining screws on.
- the socket strip shown is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 essentially from a lower, cut to length Housing element 10, which is a substantially U-shaped Has cross-section and as strand material or profile rail is trained. On this lower housing element 10 upper housing elements 11, 12 can be pushed on will.
- Fig. 1 are two different types of upper housing elements 11, 12 shown.
- the top Housing elements 11 consist essentially of a upper, the open long side of the lower housing element 10 covering end plate 13 on the two sockets 14 are integrally formed and in the assembled state extend inside the power strip.
- a socket 14 is only indicated schematically, since here in a known manner diverse versions are possible, e.g. B. sockets for safety plugs, Euro plugs and plugs according to the standards in the different countries.
- sockets 14 for protective contact plugs as an example shown.
- Each end plate 13 has at its two longitudinal edge areas Guide rails 15 on the corresponding Guide channels 16 at the free ends of the two legs 17 of the lower housing element 10 are inserted can.
- the guide strips 15 are inside the guide channel 16 relative to the passage slot to the guide channel widened out so that they are not transverse to the longitudinal direction of the guide channel 16 pulled out of this can be. This causes the legs to widen 17 prevents and the strength of the lower Housing element 10 and the upper housing elements 11, 12 formed housing increased.
- each upper housing element 11 has two sockets 14 on. Of course it is also possible upper housing elements 11 with only one socket or with manufacture a larger number of sockets.
- the housing elements 11 can such upper housing elements 11 a timer, a lightning protection device, a fuse, a Overcurrent switch, a temperature switch or the like. exhibit.
- the housing elements designed as special designs can either at an end area or between the other housing elements 11 may be arranged.
- termination elements 20, 21st In the exemplary embodiment, these are with a U-shaped profile shown, the connecting web between the U-legs to close the front openings of the Housing serves.
- these termination elements 20, 21 can also be shaped in any other way, e.g. as simple plates.
- the closure element 20 has in its central area is a perspective view 1 through opening not visible to Passage of an electrical connection cable 22.
- the End element 21 has one on one of its legs Through opening 23 with a substantially T-shaped shape, those for screwing or hanging the power strip serves on walls.
- the number of upper housing elements 11 is almost unlimited, and special designs, such as the upper housing element 12, can optionally be provided or omitted will.
- the lower Housing element 10 cut to length, and the top Housing elements 11, 12 can be described below Pre-assembly can be postponed. After that need only the end elements 20, 21 screwed on to be, instead of screwing on Snap on is possible. This also applies to the top ones Housing elements 11, 12, which instead of sliding can also be snapped on or screwed on.
- the upper housing elements 11 are initially shown in FIG. 3 with the end plate 13 down on the narrow sides folded and put together.
- the end plates 13 For this are the Narrow edges of the end plates 13 according to FIG. 4 with Provide means for interconnection.
- the one End plate 13 has a projecting front Strip 27 on the corresponding groove the other end plate 13 engages.
- This groove 28 will down through one the other end plate 13 underlying plate-like projection 29 limits the Has slots 30, in the projections when plugged together 31 on the underside of the left end plate 13 click into place.
- the strips 27, grooves 28, projections 29, Slots 30 and projections 31 can each in essentially over the entire width of the end plates 13 extend or alternately over parts of this Width.
- each contact arrangement 32 After the upper housing elements 11, 12 have been plugged together contact arrangements 32 are plugged on one another, each contact arrangement 32 the two sockets 14 of an upper housing element 11 engages.
- Any contact arrangement 32 has two contact openings 33 for insertion of connector pins electrical connectors that are in the sockets 14 are inserted.
- the contact arrangements 32 can either with such depressions or elevations are locked, or there will be Holding elements for fixing these contact arrangements 32 snapped or screwed onto the sockets 14.
- For Connection of the contact arrangements 32 point to each other these each have plug openings 34 in their central region on, in the plug-in projections 35 of the contact arrangements 32 connecting busbars 36 are inserted can.
- Each bus bar 36 connects two contact arrangements 32 in this way, so that with a larger number of upper housing elements 11 a corresponding larger number of busbars 36 in a row arrangement can be inserted.
- busbars 36 as continuous Manufacture metal strips and depending on the number cut the upper housing elements 11 accordingly.
- the lower housing element 10 still have stiffening agents. 2 are such Stiffener than the legs 17 with the lower Web-connecting web elements 37 are formed. Farther can the walls of the lower housing element 10 in structured, not shown, for example be corrugated or have a meandering structure.
