Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method for sealing the construction joints existing between the individual sections of a diaphragm wall by means of a sealing material which is introduced into the sections of the slot produced in the floor by means of reinforcement cages and after the production of two adjacent sections of the diaphragm wall in the areas of there are construction joints between these sections.
When walls are erected according to the so-called diaphragm wall method, in the line along which the diaphragm wall is to be built, guide walls located at a distance from one another, namely parallel walls, which are located above the diaphragm wall to be erected, are produced. Subsequently, first sections of the slot, namely sections of a so-called primary slot, are dredged between these guide walls, the lengths of which correspond to the multiple working length of the excavator bucket. As soon as a first section has the required depth, it is limited at both ends by driving tubes, so-called formwork tubes, into these. For example, the length of the sections of the primary slot is 6 m, their width is 60 cm to 120 cm and their depth is up to 50 m.
During the excavation of the soil, a bentonite suspension is introduced into these sections, which serves as a support. As a result, reinforcement cages are used in these sections. Subsequently, underwater concrete is introduced into these sections by means of at least one tube immersed in the bentonite suspension and the bentonite suspension displaced thereby is pumped off at the top. The individual sections, which are located at approximately equal distances from one another, are produced in succession. As soon as the concrete in the relevant wall section has hardened, the formwork tubes that delimit its ends are pulled out of the ground.
Then the material located between these primary sections of the diaphragm wall is dredged, whereby sections of the so-called secondary slot are produced, which are also supported by a bentonite suspension, are further inserted into the secondary sections of the slot located between the primary sections of the diaphragm wall and are also used in these secondary sections of the slot are brought in concrete. This creates a continuous diaphragm wall.
When producing such diaphragm walls, however, the problem arises that working joints form between the primary sections and the secondary sections of the diaphragm wall, which must be sealed. The reason for this is, on the one hand, that the adjacent primary and secondary sections of the diaphragm wall do not adequately connect with one another, as a result of which movements which are permeable to liquids can form between the concrete bodies as a result of thermal movements or due to the rock pressure. On the other hand, the lack of sealing can also be caused by foreign bodies such as stones or inclusions remaining in the area of the construction joints. As soon as liquid passes through construction joints, the construction joints are rinsed out more and more.
In addition, there is often also the need to seal the diaphragm wall itself. The reason for this is that waterproof concrete as such cannot withstand aggressive media, which is why there may be a need to prevent the entry of aggressive liquids.
The sealing of the construction joints or the sealing of the diaphragm wall against aggressive media could be achieved after excavating the material located within the diaphragm walls by sealing the inside thereof. However, since the liquid appears on the outside of the diaphragm walls, a complete seal can never be guaranteed. A complete seal could only be achieved by exposing the outside of the diaphragm wall and providing it with a seal. However, this procedure would be so complex that it is not economically justifiable.
From DE-OS 1 484 534 a method for sealing the joints of a diaphragm wall is known, which consists in that sealing strips are introduced into the sections of the slot with the reinforcement cages. However, since these sealing strips extend transversely to the construction joint, as a result of which a liquid flow can form around the sealing strips, an only very ineffective seal is brought about by them.
The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a method by which a simple and effective sealing of the construction joints formed between the individual sections of a diaphragm wall and, if appropriate, the outside of the diaphragm wall is ensured. This is achieved according to the invention in that the reinforcement cages are at least partially provided in the areas of their two end walls and one side wall with sealing mats which, after the two adjacent sections of the diaphragm wall have been produced, lie along the construction joints between the sections of the diaphragm wall and preferably also on the outside along the sections extend the diaphragm wall.
As is known per se, the sealing mats preferably extend over the entire end faces of the reinforcement cages. In addition, the sealing mats can also extend over the entire outside of the reinforcement cages.
According to a preferred embodiment, the sealing mats are double-layered in a manner known per se, a bentonite filling being located between the two layers.

As shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, to produce a primary section of the diaphragm wall between two
As can be seen in particular from FIGS. 2a and 2b, the
During the excavation of the soil to produce the
As soon as the
As can be seen from FIGS. 5a to 5c, the sealing
As a sealing
The sealing effect of these sealing
