Abstract

The cable car transport installation has passive vehicles (10) drawn by a tractor cable (25,26,27). The vehicle is carried by two support cables (12,13) on pulleys (18) fitted the roof of the vehicle, on either side. The roof of the vehicle is below the plane of the two cables. The distance between the roof and the cables is sufficient to allow several tractor cables to lie between the two support cables at a slightly lower level than the plane of the support cables. The tractor cables pass round return pulleys at winder stations. Different cables allow different vehicles to be drawn at differing speeds, and vehicles to be stationary while others are moving.

Description

The invention relates to a transport installation having at least one passive vehicle coupled to a towing cable by a disengageable clamp to be towed and to roll on a wide track, which connects two stations and which consists of two carrying cables extending parallel to the same level with a spacing substantially equal to or slightly less than the width of the vehicle, which vehicle includes rollers of bearing on the supporting cables, which are arranged above of the vehicle roof so that this roof is located below of the plan containing the two carrying cables.

A known installation of the kind mentioned comprises a carriage, which rolls on the cables and to which a hanger is articulated fixing the vehicle. This cable car transporter, designed to be installed in the mountains, is bulky and does not not allow circulation of several vehicles on the same way.

The advantages of respect for the environment, absence of pollution and reduced cost of overhead cable carriers are well known and the present invention aims to allow the realization of such a transporter suitable for urban transport.

L'installation selon l'invention présente les caractéristiques de la Revendication 1.The installation according to the invention has the characteristics of Claim 1.

In urban areas the slope or changes in slope of the track are weak and the virtual removal of the line, which allows a significant reduction in the height of the installation and therefore of its cost, is not annoying. Vehicles drive on the track formed by the two carrying cables like wagons of railway towed by cable and ground infrastructure is reduced to pylons staggered along the track.

The lines or connections between the rollers and the vehicle preferably extend outside the cables carriers so as to frame these two cables, which are then supported by hooves held by the top and by the internal side by pylons. A reverse layout is fine heard conceivable.

The towing cables pass advantageously in the stations on idler pulleys to form closed loops driving vehicles from one station to another and stopping vehicles at these stations. In the station the vehicle is coupled, by closing a clamp, to a loop of cable stopped, before being accelerated and driven on the track, by driving the cable loop, to the next station where it stops by stopping the loop of cable. The same loop can extend between several stations successive and this loop is then stopped at each pass of the vehicle at a station. On the contrary, the way can be subdivided into several sections, each equipped with a loop of tractor cable and in each station the vehicle is uncoupled from one of the loops to be coupled to the loop next. For this purpose each vehicle is equipped with a clamp suitable, in particular of the type described in French patent N ° 2,337,067 and the ends of the loops overlap.

According to an important development of the invention, the mechanism for driving and / or returning the towing cables is housed in the space defined by the interval between the carrying cables and the roof of the vehicle and between the two support shoes of the carrier cables in a station. By housing the pulleys of return and if necessary their drive motors in this interval, the station structure is simplified, the whole being fixed to the frame of the station which can be a simple pylon. It is possible to arrange the pulley driving the towing cable in a different location, for example at a vehicle stop station without change of cable.

According to a development of the invention, several cables tractors or loops of tractor cables equip the same track, each cable being driven independently of the others to allow simultaneous circulation of several vehicles on the same lane, as described in the French patent application N ° 93 01 630 of February 08, 1993. The tractor strands of the different loops are preferably grouped in a first horizontal layer, while the strands back are grouped in a second tablecloth arranged symmetrically with respect to the axis of the track. When the installation includes a forward and a return track, arranged side by side, the towing strand of a loop can be associated with one of the channels while the return strand extends the along the other track.

  • la figure 1 est une vue schématique en perspective d'un véhicule d'une installation de transport selon l'invention;
  • les figures 2 et 3 sont des vues en coupe, respectivement transversale et longitudinale du véhicule selon la figure 1;
  • les figures 4 et 5 sont des vues en plan et en élévation d'une section de voie équipée d'une seule boucle de câble tracteur;
  • Other advantages and characteristics will emerge more clearly from the description which follows of an embodiment of the invention given by way of example and shown in the appended drawings, in which:
  • Figure 1 is a schematic perspective view of a vehicle of a transport installation according to the invention;
  • Figures 2 and 3 are sectional views, respectively transverse and longitudinal of the vehicle according to Figure 1;
  • Figures 4 and 5 are plan views and elevation of a track section equipped with a single loop of tractor cable;
  • Figure 6 is a cross-sectional view of the vehicle when passing a pylon.
In the figures, a passenger transport vehicle 10 is suspended from a track 11, consisting of two carrying cables 12,13, which extend parallel while being carried, to the same level, by pylons 22 schematically marked on the Figures 4, 5 and 6. The spacing of the two carrying cables 12,13 is substantially equal to the width of the vehicle 10, of shape parallelepiped, to form a wide track 11, which connects two or more successive stations, where the vehicles 10, traveling on the track, stop for the disembarkation and / or embarkation of passengers. Both side walls 14,15 of the vehicle 10, parallel to the track 11, are extended upwards by wings 16,17 bearing each of the rollers 18 rolling on the carrying cables 12,13. In the example shown in the figures, the wings 16.17 are arranged outside the carrying cables 12,13 by framing these and each wing 16.17 carries two horizontal axes 19.20, at the front and rear of the vehicle 10, facing the interior perpendicular to the track. On each axis 19.20 is articulated a pendulum with two rollers 18, the number of which can to be superior to constitute a train of pebbles. It's clear that the wings 16,17 play the role of connecting lines between the rollers 18 and the vehicle 10 and that they can be replaced by such lines and depending on the size of the vehicle 10 the number of axes 19,20 for rocker support at rollers 18 can be higher. The interval "i" between rollers 18 and the roof 21 of the vehicle 10 is of low height "h", so as to bring the vehicle closer to the plane containing the load-bearing cables 12.13. Each pylon 22 has a pair of shoes 23 for supporting the carrying cables 12,13, housed in the interval "i" and the assembly is arranged to allow the free passage of vehicle 10 traveling on track 11. Both shoes 23 are fixed to the pylon 22 by crosspieces 24 located inside lane 11, but a reverse arrangement with rollers 18 held from the inside and shoes 23 maintained from the outside, is conceivable. The pylons 22 are of a well-known type with two lateral arms, each associated with one of the channels in the case of arranged return routes side by side or easel spanning a single track. The vehicle 10 is a passive vehicle coupled in line to a cable tractor, which extends along track 11. The length "m" of the vehicle can be several meters, for example 6 meters.

In the interval "i" above the roof 21 extend three towing cable loops 25,26,27, each having one strand tractor 25a, 26a, 27a, and a return strand 25b, 26b, 27b. Strands tractors 25a, 26a, 27a are grouped in a first ply 28 horizontal and the strands back 25b, 26b, 27b in a second horizontal tablecloth 29, arranged symmetrically from the first 28 relative to the axis of symmetry of track 11. Cables 25,26,27 tractors are arranged between the two carrying cables 12.13 and they pass on support rollers 30, carried by jumpers 31 in support of the supporting cables 12,13 and in the stations on return pulleys 32.33, one of which 32 is driven and rotated by a motor 34. The height "h" of the interval "i" is for example of the order of a meter or less than one meter, but sufficient to accommodate hooves 23 and towing cables 25,26,27 with their supports in the interval "i".

The vehicle 10 includes a disengageable clamp 35 capable of to couple the vehicle 10 to one of the tractor strands 25a, 26a, 27a, which then ensures the traction of the vehicle on the track 11. The clamp 35 is for example of the type described in the aforementioned French patent No. 2,337,067 for coupling to any 27 any of the towing cables 25,26,27 and to one of these cables at once. The clamp 35 is carried by the end of a cantilevered transverse arm passing over one 13 of the supporting cables and fixed to the adjacent wing 17. After closing the clamp 35 of the vehicle 10, at the stop in station, on the tractor cable 27, it is driven by the motor 34 for towing vehicle 10 on track 11 and take it to the next station where the cable and vehicle mated are stopped. We order by any appropriate means opening the clamp 35 and closing it on a cable tractor of the next track section which then moves the vehicle 10 on this other track section and so on. The ends of the towing cables 25,26,27 of two sections successive lanes overlap to authorize a change of cable without moving the vehicle, but others provisions are conceivable.

The use of three independent towing cable loops 25,26,27 allows the simultaneous presence of three vehicles 10, which move independently of each other, on the same track section 11 as described in the request for aforementioned patent No. 93 01630, to which the reader will refer advantageously for further details on the operation of the installation.

The wide track 11 ensures great stability of the vehicle 10 and provides sufficient space for the accommodation of the two layers 28.29 towing cables 25,26,27 between the two carrying cables 12,13 in the interval "i" of low height.

Referring more particularly to FIGS. 4 and 5, on which only one loop of towing cables was shown, it can be seen that the return pulleys 32.33 as well as the drive mechanism of the driving pulley 32 with the motor 34, are housed in the interval "i" with possibly a slight upward projection, which in no way hinders the passage of the vehicle 10. The infrastructure of the station is thus significantly simplified and it can be constituted by a small pylon or support frame, the platforms being at ground level.

    Changes in the towing cable are made when the stations are stationary and such a change does not necessarily take place in each station, if the same loop of towing cable extends along several stations, the intermediate stations being simple stations stop.
    The driving of the towing cables 25, 26, 27 can be carried out by a driving drum arranged at any point of the track, in particular in a stop station without changing the cable or by any other operating means. The invention is applicable to installations having only two loops of towing cables or a greater number of loops and the arrangement of these loops may be different, the two strands of the same loop being for example arranged side by side. In an installation having outward and return paths arranged side by side, the traction strands can extend along the outward path and the return strands along the return path and vice versa.
