Description

The invention relates to a vessel filling machine according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such a vessel filling machine is already known, in which the holders with the rinsing caps used, both in their working position and in their rest position, lie completely outside the protective wall which prevents the penetration of fragments, liquid residues, etc. into the interior of the vessel filling machine. The flushing caps and their holders, on the other hand, are completely unprotected and can therefore easily be damaged and contaminated in normal filling operation. In addition, these disruptive attachments prevent the environment around the filling elements from being kept clean or sterile, as is desirable in the sense of as sterile filling as possible.

The same applies to other known vessel filling machines, in which the flushing caps or their holders are arranged directly on the lifting elements for the vessels (DE-OS 37 22 495) or the flushing caps are pivotably mounted on the rotating carrier for the filling elements (DE-OS 28 04 423).

The invention has for its object to protect the holders and rinsing caps in the rest position better against damage and contamination in a vessel filling machine of the type mentioned with simple means.

This object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1.

In a vessel filling machine according to the invention, the brackets and the rinsing caps carried by them are therefore completely in the protective wall or behind the lids in their rest position, so when they are not needed, and therefore cannot be broken due to the shards, liquid splashes, etc. that are inevitably produced in normal filling operation be charged. In addition, there are no unnecessary attachments in the area of the filling elements in the normal filling operation outside the protective wall, so that this area can easily be kept clean due to its "smooth" shape by spraying with disinfectant or the like.

It is easily feasible to make a single opening in the form of an annular slot for all mounts in the protective wall, which can be raised and lowered, for example Ring aperture is covered or released. According to the development of the invention specified in claim 2, however, each filling element is assigned its own opening with its own cover. In this way, individual opening and closing is possible and the weakening of the protective wall is kept to a minimum.

The individual lids can either be aligned or overlapping with the protective wall. Corresponding developments of the invention are specified in claims 3 and 4.

The individual lids can e.g. be designed as a hinged lid, which are automatically pressed against the spring force when the holder is extended. According to the development of the invention specified in claim 5, however, each cover is attached to the outer end of its holder. In this way, a separate storage and actuation for the lid is avoided.

Other advantageous developments of the invention are specified in subclaims 6 to 21.

The vessel filling machine according to FIGS. 1 to 3 is set up for filling vessels, not shown, in the form of glass bottles with a carbonated beverage under counterpressure. It has an annular rotor 15 rotating around a vertical axis of rotation 14, on the underside of which a plurality of cam-controlled lifting members 16 for the vessels are arranged, evenly distributed over the circumference. The lifting members 16 are partially covered on the outside by a cylindrical protective jacket 17 attached to the rotor 15.

On the rotor 15 is supported by a plurality of vertical screw spindles 18 concentrically to the axis of rotation 14, an annular bowl 19 with several chambers for liquid, span gas, return gas, etc. On the outside of the ring bowl 19, a plurality of filling elements 1 are attached, distributed uniformly over the circumference, one each over each lifting element 16. The filling elements 1 have an outlet connection 20 for the liquid at the lower end and a return gas pipe 21 concentrically penetrating them and are inside with Control valves for liquid, span gas, return gas, etc., not shown.

On each filling element 1, a slide 11, consisting of two parallel rods and two crosspieces, is mounted so that it can move in height. The carriage 11 carries a centering bell 22 at the lower end and a cam roller 23 at the upper end. The cam rollers 23 cooperate with a fixed control cam 29 and thus control the height or movement of the carriage 11 with its attachments. In addition, an angular bolt 13 is pivotally mounted on the top of each filling element 1, which is kept out of engagement with the slide 11 by a compression spring 30 during normal filling operation (see FIG. 3). At the free end of the lower horizontal leg of the bolt 13, a further cam roller 32 is mounted, which can cooperate with a fixed cam piece 31. This is in normal filling operation outside the orbit of the cam rollers 32. At the beginning of the flushing operation, it is inserted into the orbit of the cam rollers 32 and presses the upper vertical leg of the bolt 13 under the upper crosspiece of the carriage 11, previously, against the force of the compression springs 30 have been raised accordingly by the control curve 29 (see FIG. 1, right side). The bolt 13 remains in this locked position by self-locking, even in the areas in which the control curves 29 and 31 are interrupted. The curve is indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. 1; the direction of rotation is marked by an arrow. By slightly lifting the slide 11 above the control curve 29, the bolt 13 is automatically moved back into the neutral position shown in FIG. 3 by the compression spring 30 and the slide 11 can be lowered in a controlled manner by the control curve 29.

On the underside of the ring bowl 19, a cylindrical protective wall 5 made of stainless steel sheet is attached concentrically to the axis of rotation 14. This lies radially inside the filling elements 1 and the slide 11 and covers the protective jacket 17 with its lower end.

On the inside of the protective wall 5, two rods 9 extending radially to the axis of rotation 14 are fastened one above the other for each filling element 1. On each pair of rods 9, a bracket 2 is slidably mounted, which is formed by a narrow plate which is aligned radially to the axis of rotation 14. On each bracket 2, a drive element 4 acts in the form of a double-acting pneumatic cylinder, which on the other hand is connected to the rods 9. At the radially outer end of each holder 2, a circular receiving bore 8 is formed, into which a flushing cap 3 can be inserted loosely.

The rotationally symmetrical flushing cap 3 has a widened collar 10 at the upper end, with which it rests on the top of the holder 2 and is thus fixed in terms of height. Below the collar 10, the flushing cap 3 is tube-like, its outer diameter being somewhat smaller than the diameter of the receiving bore 8. The lower end of the flushing cap 3 is closed and tapered on the outside, which makes it easier to insert into the receiving bore 8. The upper end face of each rinsing cap 3 in the region of the collar 10 has a sealing ring 35 and is adapted to the centering bell 22 in such a way that it can be connected to it in a liquid-tight manner.

Below each pair of rods 9, an opening 6 is formed in the protective wall 5, through which the associated holder 2 with the flushing cap 3 attached can be moved through without collision. On the radially outward-facing end face of each holder 2, a flat cover 7 is fastened, which fits exactly into the opening 6 and thus closes it flush with the protective wall 5 when its holder 2 is in the appropriate position. The cover 7 has a T-like basic shape, the horizontal cross leg corresponding in length and thickness to the collar 10 of the flushing cap 3.

In normal filling operation, all holders 2 with their inserted flushing caps 3 assume the rest position shown in FIG. 3. All holders 2 and all flushing caps 3 are located completely inside or behind the cylindrical protective wall 5, the openings 6 of which are closed by the cover 7. The brackets 2 and rinsing caps 3 are thus well protected against the action of cullet, filling liquids, cleaning liquids, etc. On the other hand, the lifting movement of the vessels to be filled with the lifting members 16 is not hindered and it is the "smooth" area below the filling members 1 and outside of the Protective wall 5 easy to keep clean or sterile due to missing attachments.

To initiate the cleaning operation, all the vessels are first removed from the vessel filling machine and the ring bowl 19 is completely emptied. The elements not shown for the vessel transport, in particular the transport stars and guide sheets for the supply and discharge the vessels on or from the lifting elements 16 can remain in place. Then, with the rotor 15 rotating slowly, in the area between the outlet star and the inlet star, where the carriages 11 with the centering bells 22 assume their lower end position shown in FIG. 1 on the left-hand side and in FIG. 3, all holders 2 are actuated one after the other by actuating their drive elements 4 moved radially outward from the rest position into the working position. First, the covers 7 open the openings 6 and the holders 2 with the flushing caps 3 penetrate the openings 6. The working position of the holders 2 and flushing caps 3 is indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. 3 and shown in FIG. 2.

Die Zentrierung der Spülkappen 3 erfolgt zunächst durch ihren rohrartigen Bereich in Verbindung mit der Aufnahmebohrung 8.It can be seen that each rinsing cap 3 is concentric with its centering bell 22 and touches it on its underside, which is supported in the slide 11 with slight play. In addition, the flushing caps 3 are held in the working position by a receptacle 12 in the form of two fingers formed on each slide 11 below the centering bell 22, which engage on opposite sides of the flushing cap 3 on the underside of the collar 10. In the position shown in Fig. 3, the top of the bracket 2 is aligned with the top of the receptacle 12. As also clearly shown in Fig. 2, the receptacle 12 is open inwards and outwards, so that the flushing caps 3 by the radial movement of their Bracket 2 can be easily inserted into the receptacle 12 and the cover 7 can be passed between the fingers of the receptacle 12 beforehand. The flushing caps 3 are first centered by their tubular area in connection with the receiving bore 8.

In the further course of the orbital movement, the slides 11 with the flushing caps 3 hanging in the receptacle 12 are raised by the control cam 29 and pressed together with the centering bells 22 in a liquid-tight manner against the filling element 1. The purge caps 3 are initially fixed laterally through the receiving bores 8 and then through the return gas tubes 21. Then, in the manner already described, the bolts 13 are actuated by the curve piece 31 and the flushing caps 3 are thus fixed in the flushing position for any number of cycles without the action of the control cam 29. Here, in the manner customary in CIP cleaning, the liquid detergent pumped around in the circuit is diverted through the flushing caps 3 from the outlet nozzle 20 to the return gas pipe 21 without loss.

At the end of the cleaning operation, the cleaning agent is drained off and the slides 11 with the flushing caps 3 are lowered again in the manner already described by releasing the latches 13. The tapered lower ends of the rinsing caps 3 carried by the receptacles 12 thread into the receiving bores 8 until the rinsing caps 3 rest on the brackets 2 again with their collar 10. Now, by actuating the drive elements 4, the holders 2 with the inserted flushing caps 3 are moved one after the other back into their rest position. Each rinsing cap 2 moves radially inward out of its receptacle 12 and through the opening 6 until it is finally closed by its cover 7 after it has passed the receptacle 12.

During the cleaning operation, the holders 2 can remain in their working position or can also be moved back temporarily into the rest position. Both working and rest position are defined by vertical stop bars 33, 34 which are attached to the top of each bracket 2 and at the same time take over their storage on the rods 9. The stop bars 33, 34 cooperate with a connecting strap 25 between the drive element 4 and the rods 9 on the one hand and with the protective wall 5 on the other hand.

The vessel filling machine according to FIGS. 4 and 5 largely corresponds to that according to FIGS. 1 to 3; only the deviations are described below: a radially and horizontally arranged rod 36 in the form of a C-profile which is open at the bottom is fastened under each filling element 1 on the inside of the protective wall 5. In the rod 36, a holder 37 is slidably mounted, which is formed by an elongated plate made of plastic. At its radially outer end, the receiving bore 8 for the flushing cap 3 is formed, which is provided on the top with an extension for receiving the collar 10. The top of the flushing cap 3 is flush with the top of the holder 37 and lies in the rest position just below the closed top of the rod 36, which thus forms a cover. In this way, the penetration of foreign bodies etc. into the interior of the flushing cap 3 which is in its rest position is reliably prevented.

The drive member 4 in the form of a double-acting pneumatic cylinder is also located at a protected location within the holder 37 or the rod 36 and is attached at one end to the free end face of the rod 36. The other end is supported by a cross pin 38 on the bracket 37.

The flushing cap 3 is provided at the lower end with an outlet opening 26 in which a valve body 27 is slidably mounted. If the flushing cap 3 hangs freely in its receptacle 12, the valve body 27 closes the outlet opening 26 under the influence of its own weight. On the other hand, if the flushing cap 3 is in its receiving bore 8, the valve body 27 is actuated by a control element 28 in the form of a valve at the lower end of the Cover 7 trained horizontal leg kept open so that the cleaning liquid can leak. The cover 7 is in turn attached to the radially outer end face of the holder 37.

As indicated in FIG. 2, the protective wall 5 can also be constructed from individual segments and can have dividing walls 24 engaging between the vessels or filling elements. The flushing caps can also be picked up and pressed on in the working position by the lifting members 16 or their own lifting drives connected to the holders, and the flushing caps can remain in the holders during the working position.
