Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for loading a printing sheet processing machine, such as a saddle stitcher, inserting or collating machine, consisting of a feeder separating the printing sheets from a stack and a downstream downstream communication device with the processing machine.
  • a printing sheet processing machine such as a saddle stitcher, inserting or collating machine, consisting of a feeder separating the printing sheets from a stack and a downstream downstream communication device with the processing machine.
  • cards are also attached and / or the printed products are addressed by labeling.
  • the printing of the individual printed sheets takes place, for example, in a device according to EP-A-0 472 900 on a horizontal section of a conveyor which has taken over the printed sheets from a feeder drum.
  • the printed sheets lie flat and pass through an ink jet apparatus arranged above them and are then straddled by a feeder with opening device to a collecting section of a saddle stitcher.
  • the horizontal route section after a loop formation of the transporter second, the printed sheets can optionally be labeled on both sides.
  • a gluing device has a plurality of support arms mounted on a circulating member, which carry holders at their free ends.
  • the holders each take one insert at a delivery point, convey it past an adhesive application device, where adhesive is applied to the insert, and transport it to the printed products, where the insert is glued on.
  • the printed products are transported adjacent to supports running transversely to the conveying direction and the holders are immersed between two successive supports and are moved against the supports by means of the control means in order to adhere and press the supplements onto the printed products.
  • Both known devices also lack one of the options for printing the printed products or adding inserts during processing.
  • the device according to the invention should also be usable for the processing purposes mentioned without the possibility of selectively adding inserts and / or printing addresses.
  • this object is achieved in that between the feeder and the conveying device designed as a transporter, one that can be actuated with it in the approximate range and rotates approximately in the same direction and with the same cycle Carrier-provided conveying member is arranged, the conveying effective area is selectively assigned a supplement feed device and / or a printing device, the conveying member rotating about an axis, for example drum-shaped, or traction means rotating around several parallel axes could be designed with gripping tongs or the like.
  • the gripping tongs connected to the upper run of the circulating traction means could each be fed by a feeder separating the printed sheets, the printed sheets being glued with a supplement on the further conveying path to the conveying device in a horizontal position and / or written by a printer.
  • a device has proven to be particularly advantageous in which the printed sheets are fed in front of a conveyor drum having an axis perpendicular to the conveying direction, at their effective conveying scope at regular intervals the controllable gripping members assigned to the fold of the supplied printed sheets and a transporter as a downstream conveying device and fasten the printed sheets at least over the duration of processing or until the handover to the carrier.
  • Such an embodiment is suitable for a compact construction that can be used in a small space.
  • the conveying drum In order to stabilize the printed sheets in the conveying area, it is expedient for the conveying drum to be assigned a guide device which faces it and which ensures precise attachment of supplements and / or addresses.
  • an effective one in the transfer / delivery area to the conveyor device which can be controlled at one end to lift the printed sheets from the circumference of the conveyor drum, cooperates with the gripping tongs of the transporter Repulsion device is provided, which moves the specific end of a printed sheet into the still open gripper.
  • the proposed design of the push-off device alternatively allows both the rear and the front end of the printed sheets to be lifted from the conveying drum into the removal position, so that it can protrude into the open gripping tongs.
  • a device 1 for loading a printing sheet 2 processing machine such as saddle stitcher for magazines, inserting machine for newspapers or collating machine for brochures and books or the like subtracts the stack formed.
  • the arrows A and B indicate the direction of rotation of the rotor 5 and the pull-off rollers 6.
  • a conveying member Connected to the conveying end of the feeder 3 is a conveying member, which rotates approximately in the same direction in the vicinity and is designed as a conveying drum 8.
  • the printed sheets 2 are fed here with the closed fold ahead of the conveying drum 8, which has an axis of rotation 9 which is approximately perpendicular to the conveying direction.
  • the conveyor drum 8 has gripping members 10 distributed over the circumference, which are controlled in such a way that they are in the mouth region End of feed of the feeder 3 are open up to the point of arrival of the printed sheet 2 and immediately afterwards they are grasped by closing at the end conveyed in advance - here the end of the fold.
  • the gripping members 10 are designed to cooperate with a depression on the drum circumference, ie the pliers-like gripping members 10 have a stationary 11 and a movable clamping part 12.
  • the stationary clamping part 11 is formed in each case by an inwardly angled stop surface 14 which adjoins the jacket sections 13 of the conveying drum 8, while the movable clamping part 12 can be pivoted.
  • both clamping parts 11 and 12 form a narrowing guidance of the supplied printing sheet 2 and the closing movement takes place, for example, by means of a control cam acting on the movable clamping part 12 (not visible).
  • the printed sheet 2 is passed through an undershot conveying channel which runs along the circumference of the conveying drum 8 and is formed by a guide device 15.
  • the latter consists of at least one stationary guide element 16 partially surrounding the conveyor drum 8 in the conveying area.
  • An endless guide belt which wraps around the conveyor drum 8 and rotates around several rollers could also take its place.
  • a guide belt would have to be driven by a motor or by the conveyor drum 8.
  • the downstream end of the guide device 15 is in the approximate or. Transfer area of a conveyor device 17 communicating with the processing machines.
  • a switchable insert feed device 18 is assigned to the conveying area of the printed sheets 2 on the conveying drum 8.
  • the present exemplary embodiment is a so-called card adhesive which has a feeder 19 for printed products of a smaller format than the printed sheets, for example cards, bags or the like, which pass through an adhesive application station 20 on the way to the printed sheets 2.
  • the supplements 23 are resp. previously from a rotating gripper drum 21 on the front. Pulled off the underside of a stack 22 and in this process, after passing through the adhesive application station 20, where a strip of adhesive is applied to them, rolled onto the printed sheets 2 lying on the conveyor drum 8.
  • the printed sheets 2, with or without an insert 23, pass through a printing device 24, where they can be provided with a label, for example an address.
  • the printed sheets 2 are now ready for further processing and can be removed from the conveyor drum 8.
  • a repelling device 25 which is provided within the conveyor drum 8 and acts outwards, is assigned to the jacket sections 13 of the individual printed sheets 2.
  • a pusher device 27 which can be ejected over the circumference of the conveying drum 8, is articulated, which pushes off the printed sheet 2 resting on the corresponding casing section 13 at the rear end in the conveying direction, such that the rear end End can be detected by the approaching open gripper 28 of the conveyor 17 designed as a conveyor.
  • the single figure shows the gripping tongs 28 before the printing sheets 2 are gripped by the conveyor drum 8 and at the time after that when the printing sheets 2 are clamped in the gripping tongs 28 with the following end. This is the moment when the printed sheets 2 are released from the conveyor drum 8 by opening the gripping members 10.
  • a counter-holding device 31 acting on the printed sheets 2 from the outside against the conveying drum 8 can be arranged, which supports the tipping up of the printed sheet end by the plunger device 27. This can be done by acting Compressed air, bristles or other mechanical elements happen.
  • the gripping tongs 28 can be arranged on the traction means of the conveying device 17 such that the preceding gripping tongs part 29 is rigid and the following gripping tongs part 30 is designed to be movable.
  • the rigid gripper part 29 could be designed such that the free end in the vicinity of the conveyor drum 8 extends against its circumference and forms a fold-over edge for the end of the printed sheet.
  • the push-off device 25 becomes effective when the rigid gripper part 29 has exceeded the exit position of the push-rod device 27 on the circumference of the conveying drum 8 with respect to the conveying direction.
  • the push-off device 25 is designed to be adjustable along the circumference with respect to the length of the jacket sections 13.
  • the push-off device 25 is fastened to a support (not visible) which is arranged concentrically to the conveyor drum 8 and can be rotated relative to the latter.
