Definitions

  • the present invention relates to packaging, more particularly those that allow to lock small objects and, in a advantageous application, the packaging intended to contain the pawns or analogues which are used for games like “Checkers” or "Chess”.
  • a structure of such packaging includes for example a box consisting of a plurality of side walls and a bottom associated with the walls side to delimit with them a volume capable of containing objects, side walls further delimiting an entry opening of the volume, and at at least one cover capable of adapting to the box to cover at least partially the entrance opening.
  • packages that currently exist to contain objects like pawns for board games can take many forms.
  • the pawns are in a package that is only used for packaging and sale. Users are then forced to find a box to store the pawns in the usual place of their use. It exists also boxes that are specifically made for marketing and the storage of these pawns, but which generally require packaging extra to protect them, as well as boxes that also have the function of forming the board, for example a checkerboard or a chessboard, on which can evolve the pawns for the implementation of the game. achievements are generally very expensive to implement and therefore have very limited commercial success, their price limiting the number of buyers potential.
  • the object of the present invention is therefore to produce a packaging which overcomes the drawbacks mentioned above, especially for an application to so-called board games with board and pawns, constituting both the packaging means for marketing the games, the board means on which the pawns can move and the means of pawns storage.
  • the present invention relates to packaging in accordance with the single claim.
  • the packaging comprises a box 1 made up of a plurality of side walls 2, 3, 4 and 5, generally four in number to form a rectangular parallelepiped or square, and a bottom 6 associated with these side walls to delimit with them a volume 7 able to contain preferably small objects, for example the pawns of a board game or the like.
  • the side walls 2-5 further define an inlet opening 8 generally defined in a plan to access volume 7.
  • the packaging further comprises a cover 10 which can come adapt to box 1 to at least partially cover the opening inlet 8.
  • the cover 10 does not not completely cover opening 8 because it may include a obviously central 13, as it appears in Figures 1 and 2.
  • Figure 1 shows the box 1 and the cover 10 released one of the other but in a relative provision that highlights the how they can cooperate with each other when they are associated, i.e. when the cover at least partially covers the opening 8 as shown partially and in section in Figure 2.
  • the packaging also comprises at least one tab 11, this tab being associated to the cover 10 so that it plunges into the volume 7 when the cover at least partially covers the opening 8, and a projecting part 14 integral with the tab 11, this projecting part comprising a stop surface 15 arranged so that the latter and the bottom 16 of the cover 10 are located on either side of the plane 17 passing through the opening 8, when the cover 10 covers the opening 8.
  • the packaging also comprises at least one flap 20 and means 21 for mounting this rotary flap 20 substantially on the edge 22 of the opening 8 for example on one of the side walls 2-5.
  • the means to mount this flap in rotation on the edge 22 of the opening 8 can be of different structures, for example hinges like those described below.
  • the flap 20 is further shaped so that when the cover 10 covers the opening 8, Figure 2, and that the tab 11 plunges into the volume 7, at at least part 23 of this flap is at least partially between the bottom 16 of the cover and the abutment surface 15.
  • This part 23 is advantageously consisting of a portion 27 which is opposite the bottom 16 and another portion 28 which is opposite the abutment surface 15, the faces of these two portions 27 and 28 respectively belonging to the two opposite faces main 201 and 202 of flap 20.
  • the number of legs 11 is advantageously equal to two, one on each of two opposite sides of the cover and in a plane of symmetry of the cover.
  • the number of flaps can also be equal to two, as illustrated in the figures.
  • Each flap has then advantageously the shape of a bottom half-wall and comprises two notches 24, for example in the form of a notch or the like, to allow the two legs 11 to dive into the volume 7 when the cover 10 comes cover the opening 8, figure 2. They will be rotatably mounted respectively on two opposite sides of the edge of the opening 8, for example on the two walls opposite sides 2, 4, so that, when they are folded over the opening 8, they seal it completely together except for the combination of four notches 24 (two per flap), as can be seen in FIG. 1.
  • the box can contain small objects like pawns which are well retained in volume 7 by the flaps which close the opening 8.
  • the flaps are enclosed between the bottom 16 of the cover and the abutment surfaces 15 of the parts projection 14 integral with the legs 11.
  • the cover 10 and box 1 remain closely connected to each other, because of course friction forces between the edge 26 of the cover 10 and the contour of the box 1, but also by the fact that the flaps are held between the bottom 16 of the cover 10 and the abutment surfaces 15.
  • the tab 11 is advantageously plane and the projecting part is delimited by at least two intersecting surfaces.
  • One constituting the abutment surface 15 is substantially parallel to the plane 17 opening 8, the other 30 is oblique to this plane 17 and faces inside the volume 7 when the cover covers the opening.
  • the oblique surface 30 defined above abuts against the edge 31 of the notch 24 made in the flap 20 but constitutes a sliding ramp for the edge 31 of the notch 24.
  • the tab 11 (generally made of plastic) flexes slightly thanks to its natural elasticity, then automatically resumes its original position when the edge 31 of the notch 24 reaches the end of the ramp located on the abutment surface 15 and that the part 23 of the flap is clamped between this abutment surface and the bottom 16 of the cover.
  • the structure described above makes it just as easy to release the cover of the box to open it. You just have to shoot on the cover 10 and the box 1 in two opposite directions to overcome the forces friction.
  • the abutment surface 15 acts on the flap to make it undergo a slight rotation around the edge 22 of the opening 8, towards the outside of the volume 7.
  • the edge of the end 32 of the flap la further from the edge 22 of the opening 8 tends to move away from the surface abutment 15 by resting on one side thereof, until the flap bypasses this abutment surface 15 by sliding on its edge and escapes it totally freeing the box completely from the cover.
  • the cover 10 has a central recess 13 whose section is slightly greater than the width of the flap 11 taken between the two notches 24, that is to say the length of the edge of the end 32 of the flap defined above.
  • the packaging as described above can also be used as commercial packaging to offer for sale the objects it contains. Indeed, by turning the packaging upside down, that is by making it rest on the lid, by its border 26, the latter provides sufficient protection to guarantee the box against, in particular, friction and shock that can occur on store displays or the like.
  • any potential client is certain that it has not been opened prior to its purchase and that it contains all the parts and / or counters needed to play.
  • the packaging described above also includes means 40 for holding the flap 20, and more particularly the portion 28 of its part 23, against the abutment surface 15, these means having the function to prevent the flap from pivoting as described above when you want remove the cover from the box.
  • These means for holding the flap 20 against the abutment surface 15 comprises, as illustrated in FIG. 3, a bar 41 and means 42 for securing this bar 41 to the cover 10, in a position which allows it, with the abutment surface 15, to grip the edge 31 of the notch 24 of the flap 20.
  • this bar avoids dissociating the cover of the box, otherwise at least partially damaging the edge 31 of the notch 24 of the flap 20, which will allow the potential buyer to assume that the package has already been opened.
  • Figures 2 and 3 illustrate an embodiment of the means 42 to secure the bar 41 to the cover 10.
  • These means consist of means for clipping the two ends 43, 44 of the bar with parts 45, 46 integral with the cover 10 complementary to these two ends, these elements complementary to each other forming by example of sets of the male-female type which can only dissociate under relatively high efforts.
  • these means 42 can also advantageously be constituted by the fact that the bar 41 is made of the same material as that in which is made of the cover 10, for example plastic.
  • the cover and the bar can then be made in one piece, for example by molding, the connection between the bar and the cover having a point of weakness that can be broken just before the first detachment of the cover 10 and the box 1.
  • the potential buyer can easily see if the packaging was opened, or not, prior to its purchase.
  • Figures 4 and 5 show two views of another mode of advantageous realization of a packaging according to the invention.
  • the projecting part 14 is decoupled from the tab 11 following at least one degree of rotation about an axis 50 which is located towards the end 51 of the tab which plunges into the volume 7.
  • This axis 50 is substantially parallel to the plane of the bottom 16 of the cover 10.
  • These means are arranged to tend to bring the protruding part 14 substantially towards the center of volume 7 when it has been moved away from it and are advantageously constituted by the fact that the tab 11 and the projecting part 14 are made in one piece, the restoring force being generated by the elasticity of the material in which the tab 11 and the part are made projection 14.
  • each notch 24 is produced substantially midway between the edge 33 of the flap rotatably mounted on the edge 22 of the opening 8 and its opposite edge 32, so that the distance separating the two portions 27 and 28 defined above is relatively large.
  • portion 28 which comes into contact with the bottom 16 of the cover 10 is that which found in the vicinity of the free edge 32 of the flap opposite to that 33 which is associated at the edge 22 of the opening 8. In this way the distance separating the two portions 27 and 28 is then substantially that which separates the notch 24 from this edge free 32, distance which is clearly greater than that of the first mode which was almost zero.
  • a packaging according to the invention is very advantageous because the box can in addition, as illustrated in FIGS. 6 and 7, constitute a game board, by example for checkers, chess or the like, regardless of the number of flaps used to close the opening 8, even if, in these figures 6 and 7, the box is shown with two flaps.
  • the box, Figures 6 and 7 is made of a plate of material relatively rigid and with a thickness of value "e".
  • This box includes, FIG. 6, a square central part 60 produced in the plate, the side of which has a value equal to "L”, four lateral elements 61, 62, 63 and 64 produced in the plate and means 65 for associating each lateral element 61-64 with this central part 60.
  • Each lateral element 61-64 consists of two first 71 and second 72 stackable rectangular parts made in the plate and first hinge means 77 for associating in rotation around a axis 78 its two parts 71, 72.
  • These two superimposable parts have a length substantially equal to the value "L-e” and a width substantially equal to "L-2e”, and are associated in rotation by the hinge means 77 so that a first width 74 of the first part 71 is substantially confused with a width of the second part 72 and that the axis of rotation 78 is defined at the intersection of two faces of the first and second parts and further so that when the two parts are arranged to form a flat angle as shown in Figure 6, they are both located on the same side of the plane passing through a face of one of them.
  • the means 65 for associating each lateral element 61-64 with the part central 60 have second hinge means 80 for associating in rotation the first part 71 of a lateral element 61-64 and the central part 60 so that a length of this first part 71 is substantially combined with a first side 73 of the central part 60 along a straight line defining the axis of rotation 81 between this first part 71 and the part central 60, that the second width 82 of the first part 71 of the element lateral 61-64 and a second side 83 of the central part 60 are contained in the same plane 84 perpendicular to the axis of rotation 81, and that the four axes of rotation 81 of the first parts 71 of the lateral elements with respect to the central part 60 and the four axes of rotation 78 between the first 71 and seconds 72 parts of the lateral elements 61-64 are all in the same plane when the central part 60 and the lateral elements 61-64, as well as the first and second parts of the side elements, are arranged to
  • the plate consists of at least two layers secured to each other, one of a material rigid and the other in a flexible material.
  • at least one of the two layers may even be made of a magnetic material, the pawns then comprising at their base a magnet.
  • the hinge means 65 and / or 77 may be constituted by a cut out in the layer of rigid material, over its entire thickness and up to the layer of flexible material.
  • the box is obtained directly in a plate as defined above.
  • Figure 7 illustrates relatively explicitly how folding, or unfolding, to obtain the box ( Figure 7) or a checkerboard, chessboard, etc. (figure 6). The operations for folding and unfolding will therefore not be described more fully here.
  • the packaging can advantageously also include two flat flaps 20 as described above with reference to FIGS. 1 to 5 each associated with a first part of two opposite lateral elements 61, 63, by means of hinge similar to the hinge means described above and arranged in the same plane as them.
  • FIG. 8 illustrates another embodiment of the flaps used to close the opening 8 of the box.
  • the packaging includes two flaps 95, 96 mounted pivoting on two opposite sides of the opening 8, the dimensions of the two flaps being defined so that they together can cover substantially the entire opening 8.
  • One 96 of the two flaps have, in its plane and on its edge opposite to that which is linked to the edge of the opening, a male part 97, the other flap 95 comprising, in its plane and on its edge opposite to that which is linked to the edge of the opening, part female 98 complementary to the male part 97, so that these two parts male and female can cooperate into each other by interlocking when the two flaps come, by pivoting, substantially in the plane of the opening.
  • This packaging structure is interesting because it allows close the box and keep it in this state with a minimum of means, this which is advantageous, in particular, in the application mentioned above.
