Die Erfindung betrifft eine Isolierplatte zum Abdecken von offenen Kühleinrichtungen. Wird die Isolierplatte aus Pappmaterial hergestellt, einschließlich der beiden Deckschichten, so werden damit Entsorgungsprobleme vermieden. Die Deckschichten sind zweckmäßig aus Hartkarton hergestellt, so daß die Isolierplatte eine große Festigkeit und Steifigkeit erreicht. Die Isolierfähigkeit, aber auch die Festigkeit der Platte kann dadurch verbessert werden, daß die Deckschicht nach ihrer Außenseite mit einer Reflektorfolie überzogen ist.
