Abstract

Une protection (40) conçue pour protéger un tube à gaz (12) de télécommunication en cas de fuite du gaz comprend deux électrodes (16, 55)(61, 63) séparées par un matériau à résistance non linéaire (45). Chaque électrode est reliée à une partie d'extrémité (16, 18) de la protection du tube à gaz, de façon à constituer un autre trajet de décharge dans le cas d'une défaillance du tube à gaz (12). Le matériau à résistance non linéaire (45) est sensiblement non conducteur quand le potentiel électrique entre les électrodes est inférieur à la tension de claquage VB du matériau. Au-dessus de ladite tension, il devient conducteur et est traversé par une décharge de plasma, ce qui augmente soudainement la conductivité entre les électrodes pour décharger des potentiels de haute énergie avec un repli de la tension du plasma fonctionnellement analogue au comportement de repli de la protection du tube à gaz.
