Definitions
- the invention relates to a mobile spreading device for spreading material, in which at least one spreading element is driven by a fluid drive comprising a fluid pump and a fluid motor.
- Mobile spreading devices are used to apply a solid or liquid de-icing agent or grit on roadways.
- the spreader can be mounted in a self-driving manner on a truck or a work vehicle. It can also be designed as a unit that can be mounted on and removed from such a vehicle. Furthermore, such a spreading device can also be designed as a vehicle trailer.
- the spreading device has a spreading element which spreads the thawing agent or the chippings onto the road. It is known to drive the dispensing element, which can be designed, for example, as a centrifugal disc, in order to achieve a targeted and controllable ejection of the spreading material. If the drive element is driven by a fluid motor, in particular a hydraulic motor, two problems arise in particular.
- the object of the invention is therefore to create a spreading device in which the disadvantages mentioned do not occur.
- the fluid drive comprises, in addition to the fluid pump, at least one further pressure source which occasionally feeds the fluid motor.
- the pressure source can feed the fluid motor in addition to the normal delivery rate of the fluid pump and thus temporarily achieve an increased throwing range for the spreading agent without the basic setting of the spreading device having to be changed.
- the pressure source is preferably formed by a hydraulic accumulator which is charged by the fluid pump during normal spreading operation.
- an electrically driven pump can also be provided as the pressure source.
- FIG. 1 shows the scatter pattern 11 already mentioned, as it appears on the one lane of the road section 10 shown.
- the preset value which generally corresponds to the width of a roadway.
- the spread is limited to this preset value.
- FIG. 2 shows schematically a known spreading device in the form of a spreading trailer.
- the device can also be designed as a device which can be mounted on a truck or other vehicle.
- a scattering agent container 23 is provided in the device shown. From this spreader is fed to a centrifugal disc 4 by means of a screw conveyor. The centrifugal disc ejects the spreading material. The amount of the spreading material ejected is determined by the speed of rotation of the screw conveyor. The width of the spread is determined by the speed of the rotating spreading disc.
- the lens 4 is driven by a hydraulic motor 3.
- the screw conveyor 2 is also driven by a hydraulic motor 1.
- the hydraulic pump 5, which drives the hydraulic motor 3 and possibly also the screw conveyor motor 1, is in turn driven by the wheel 8 of the trailer.
- the delivery rate of the hydraulic pump 5 is thus dependent on the driving speed of the trailer in this type of drive.
- the result is the scatter pattern according to FIG. 1.
- another spreading device with a different one can of course also be used Spreading element and possibly without the conveying element 2. With such a configuration of the spreading device, the spreading element also directly promotes the spreading material.
- FIG. 3 shows a simplified hydraulic diagram of an embodiment of the spreading device according to the invention.
- the pump 5 driven by the wheel 8 is shown, which takes hydraulic fluid from a hydraulic reservoir 24 and delivers it to the hydraulic motor 3 under pressure.
- an adjustable throttle element 25 By means of an adjustable throttle element 25, the speed of the hydraulic motor 3 can be limited to a maximum value and thus the throwing distance of the spreading material can be set.
- a hydraulic accumulator 6 is provided for this.
- a hydraulic accumulator is a known element for storing hydraulic energy (cf., for example, Lueger, Lexikon der Kunststoff, Stuttgart 1967, Volume 8, page 466).
- the hydraulic accumulator 6 is supplied with hydraulic fluid by the pump 5 via a check valve 7 until a quantity of hydraulic fluid determined by the hydraulic accumulator and having a specific pressure is present in the hydraulic accumulator 6.
- an adjustable or controllable valve 9 is provided, which reacts to the pressure difference between the feed line for the hydraulic motor 3 and the pressure in the hydraulic accumulator.
- valve 9 opens or is opened by a control unit (not shown) and the motor 3 is additionally fed from the hydraulic accumulator 6.
- a control unit not shown
- the motor 3 is additionally fed from the hydraulic accumulator 6.
- the pump 5 then recharges the hydraulic accumulator 6.
- an auxiliary pump not shown, for example an electric pump, may be provided. This results in a scatter pattern 21, as shown in FIG. 5.
- valve 9 is preferably closed in order to prevent further scattering when the vehicle is stationary. This results in the rapid drop in the throwing width shown in FIG. 5 from the full set value to 0.
- the valve 9 is opened again and the throwing width increases rapidly in FIG. 5, since the hydraulic accumulator 6 in the start-up phase operates the engine 3 at the required speed.
- the corresponding actuation of the valve 9 when stopping and moving down can be effected by an electronic control, not shown. This can also cause the valve 9 to open or close when the pump output of the hydraulic pump 5 drops or rises.
- the hydraulic accumulator 6 can also deliver hydraulic fluid to the motor 3 in addition to the pump 5 operating with normal delivery capacity.
- the valve 9 is briefly opened by the operator of the spreading device. This results in a corresponding increase in the throwing distance for the spreading material. As already mentioned, this can be desired in branching regions and is indicated in FIG. 5 by the expanded scatter region 22 in the region of branching 13. This function
- the additional pressure source also makes sense if a wheel-driven pump 5 is not provided, but a permanently driven pump, so that the problem of the reduced spreading width when stopping or starting does not arise.
- FIG. 4 shows a hydraulic diagram of a further embodiment of the spreading device.
- the same elements as in FIG. 3 are designated with the same reference symbols.
- the second pressure source is formed in FIG. 4 by an additional pump 15, which also draws hydraulic fluid from the tank 24.
- the auxiliary pump 15 is operated by an electric motor 16. If the pump output of the pump 5 drops as a result of the wheel speeds of the wheel 8 being too low, the additional pump 15 is switched on via the electrical switch 17, which is actuated by a control device (not shown). This compensates for the drop in the pump output of the pump 5, so that the desired scatter pattern according to FIG. 5 is again obtained.
- the speed of the electric motor can be controlled inversely proportional to the speed of the wheel 8 by the control device, not shown, so that the pump power of the pump 15 brings about a very precise compensation of the power drop of the pump 5.
- the additional pump 15 can also be switched on with the pump 5 at a normal delivery rate, in order to increase the spreading width during a desired time. After the additional pump 15 is switched off, the spreading width returns to the preset value. As with the previous example in FIG. 3, the short-term increase in the throw range is facilitated because the basic setting need not be changed.
- a spreading device for dispensing a liquid thawing agent can of course also be designed accordingly.
- the motor 1, which drives this when a conveyor 2 is present, can also be a hydraulic motor.
- the hydraulic motor 1 is preferably also driven by the pump 5 or by the pressure source, as has been described above with reference to the motor 3.
- the spreading device according to the invention allows the spreading width to be kept essentially constant when the spreading device is stopped and started. Furthermore, the spreading device according to the invention allows the spreading distance of the spreading material to be increased for a certain time in a simple manner.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a mobile spreading device for spreading material, in which at least one spreading element is driven by a fluid drive comprising a fluid pump and a fluid motor.
Mobile spreading devices are used to apply a solid or liquid de-icing agent or grit on roadways. The spreader can be mounted in a self-driving manner on a truck or a work vehicle. It can also be designed as a unit that can be mounted on and removed from such a vehicle. Furthermore, such a spreading device can also be designed as a vehicle trailer. The spreading device has a spreading element which spreads the thawing agent or the chippings onto the road. It is known to drive the dispensing element, which can be designed, for example, as a centrifugal disc, in order to achieve a targeted and controllable ejection of the spreading material. If the drive element is driven by a fluid motor, in particular a hydraulic motor, two problems arise in particular. If, on the one hand, the hydraulic pump feeding the motor is driven by a drive wheel or idler wheel of the vehicle carrying the device or of the trailer, the spread achieved when the vehicle is stopped or only increases continuously when the vehicle is started, as shown in Figure 1 is shown where a
The object of the invention is therefore to create a spreading device in which the disadvantages mentioned do not occur.
This is achieved in a spreading device of the type mentioned at the outset in that the fluid drive comprises, in addition to the fluid pump, at least one further pressure source which occasionally feeds the fluid motor.
Because a further pressure source is present, the pressure drop of the wheel-driven pump when the spreading device is stopped and started can be compensated for. On the other hand, if this is desired, the pressure source can feed the fluid motor in addition to the normal delivery rate of the fluid pump and thus temporarily achieve an increased throwing range for the spreading agent without the basic setting of the spreading device having to be changed.
The pressure source is preferably formed by a hydraulic accumulator which is charged by the fluid pump during normal spreading operation. Instead of the fluid reservoir or in addition to it, an electrically driven pump can also be provided as the pressure source.

Figure 2 shows schematically a known spreading device in the form of a spreading trailer. As already mentioned at the beginning, the device can also be designed as a device which can be mounted on a truck or other vehicle. In the device shown, a
Ansteigen der Pumpenleistung der Hydraulikpumpe 5 bewirken.FIG. 3 shows a simplified hydraulic diagram of an embodiment of the spreading device according to the invention. On the one hand, the
If this is desired, the hydraulic accumulator 6 can also deliver hydraulic fluid to the
The same elements as in FIG. 3 are designated with the same reference symbols. Instead of the hydraulic accumulator 6, the second pressure source is formed in FIG. 4 by an
In the device according to FIG. 4, the
Instead of the device shown for spreading solid thawing agent or grit, a spreading device for dispensing a liquid thawing agent can of course also be designed accordingly. The
The spreading device according to the invention allows the spreading width to be kept essentially constant when the spreading device is stopped and started. Furthermore, the spreading device according to the invention allows the spreading distance of the spreading material to be increased for a certain time in a simple manner.
