Definitions
- the invention relates to a connection device for a hot water radiator, with two radiator connections arranged in the area of a wallable connection box.
- the object of the invention is to provide a connection device for a hot water radiator which can be easily pre-assembled in the building, in particular in a wall, and which enables a visually appealing impression.
- connection box has a cover on the front side facing the radiator and the two radiator connections have space under the cover inside the connection box.
- connection device In contrast to the known solution according to AT-PS 287 981, the radiator connections do not protrude from the wall, but are housed inside the junction box, which can be closed by a cover at the front. This makes it possible to completely wall the junction box and also to cover the front of the junction box, in particular the lid with masonry (generally a layer of plaster).
- There can be several Connection devices can be present in a room, which are arranged invisibly behind a plaster layer. This later enables a freer room design, since the radiator can be connected to any of the initially hidden connection devices, as will be described below.
- the unused connection devices are invisible under the plaster ceiling. Even if the interior of the room is to be changed later, it is easily possible to connect the radiator at a different location with a different connection device.
- connection device has advantages. By completely housing the radiator connections within the junction box and closing them with a cover, it is possible to simply plaster them with a continuous layer of plaster. No special precautions need to be taken. The entire connection device can be easily plastered. This considerably facilitates the brickwork. Due to a special design of the radiator connections, which will be described in the following, it is then possible, without installing a radiator, to pressurize the heating system and to test it in the shell, whereby test heaters with an actual water flow without radiator assembly are also possible. When the shell is complete, the radiators that have already been given the final coating can be connected to the radiator connections provided in the junction box without the risk of damage from the construction company.
- connection can be made via pipes or flexible hoses.
- the cover at least in the area of the radiator connections, consists of a material which can be driven in by means of a hand tool, preferably of foamed polystyrene or the like.
- a hand tool preferably of foamed polystyrene or the like.
- the cover and the plaster layer break and expose the area of the junction box in which the radiator connections are located.
- Fig. 1 shows a walled in a wall 1 junction box 2, in the radiator connections 3 are attached to a holding element 4.
- the junction box 2 is closed on its front side by a cover which, in the exemplary embodiment shown, has two parts 5a and 5b.
- the radiator connections 3 are completely inside the connection box 2 and are hydraulically connected to the flow line 6 or the return line 7, which is not visible behind it.
- the connection device is suitable for so-called two-pipe systems as well as for one-pipe systems.
- the closed cover 5a, 5b makes it possible to completely plaster the junction box together with the radiator connections 3, that is to say to lay a continuous plaster layer 7 over it.
- the junction box does not need to be aligned flush, although such flush installation is also conceivable.
- a plaster layer of approx. 0 - 30 mm is typical.
- the plaster layer lying over the cover area 5a is hammered in together with the cover 5a by means of a hammer or another suitable hand tool.
- the lid is made from an easily destructible material, for example from foamed polystyrene.
- the radiator connections 3 are thus exposed and thus allow, for example, the connection of radiator lines 10, of which only one (leading to the valve 11) is shown, via a union nut known per se.
- These radiator lines 10 can either be rigid pipes or flexible lines.
- the opening created by driving in the lid area 5a is now covered by a cover 12 which extends laterally, above and below slightly beyond the dimensions of the lid area 5a and thus also covers any frayed plaster areas.
- the cover 12 is rigidly connected to the junction box 2, for example via a screw connection 13.
- junction box 3 shows the empty junction box in a top view.
- Fig. 4 shows a section along the line IV-IV of Fig. 3
- the junction box can for example consist of a foamed plastic, preferably polystyrene. 3 and 4 provides a space 14 for receiving radiator connections, not shown here.
- the junction box in the embodiment of FIGS. 3 and 4 preferably extends in one piece from the space 14 for the radiator connections 3 downwards and there takes in the semi-cylindrical recesses the flow and return lines leading to the radiator connections 3. In this area, the junction box acts as a guide and thermal insulation for the supply and return lines 6. If such a connection box is used with an area that extends downward, it is also possible to use the supply and return lines only after plastering (shortly before the screed is laid on the floor).
- peripheral edge area 16 which is somewhat lower on the inside and on which, for example, a cover as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 can rest.
- the cover shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 is made in two parts, the two areas 5a and 5b being connected to one another via a predetermined breaking point 17.
- a predetermined breaking point 17 ensures that the lid area 5b is not impaired by the removal of the lid area 5a.
- a lower cover area 5b is also possible, which can be designed as in FIGS. 7, 8a and 8b.
- This cover area is thicker and has semicircular recesses 15 'on its underside, which together with the recesses 15 in the junction box 2 surround the supply and return lines. With the protruding areas 18, the cover placed on the junction box is supported on the latter, so that it not only rests on the circumference like the cover area 5a. In addition to good thermal insulation for the supply and return lines 6, this also gives a safe and stable cover construction.
- a cover is provided, as is shown schematically in FIG. 2.
- a preferred embodiment is shown in more detail in FIGS. 9 to 11.
- the cover 12 is designed such that it completely closes the connection box 2, not shown here, except for two outlet openings 20, 21, the connection lines 10 leading to the radiator. So that one can connect the connecting lines 10 to the radiator connections 3 beforehand and the cover 12 only has to be installed afterwards, the two outlet openings are not completely enclosed openings, but rather as lateral cutouts educated.
- connection lines 9 to 11 is designed in such a way that the connecting lines can be led out of the junction box at an angle to the cover surface in accordance with the arrows 22. This is cheap for a flat design and is particularly suitable when the connecting lines are flexible lines.
- doll-like elevations 23 are provided in order to optically cover a large part of the cutouts 20, 21, doll-like elevations 23 are provided.
- a screw can be screwed into the part 13, which engages in the junction box 2 or in its holding element 29.
- the cover 12 can be brought to suitable dimensions via predetermined breaking points 24 before it is assembled.
- the cover described above is particularly suitable as a cover for the actual area of the radiator connections 3, which also extend further downward in order to cover at least part of the supply and return lines in the wall.
- the cover can also consist of two separate parts, the dividing line advantageously running through the outlet openings for leading out the connecting lines. It is also possible to cover previously installed connection lines (especially rigid pipes) afterwards.
- the radiator connections 3 in the junction box are completely separate Are elements that are, for example, only attached together to a holding element (flat iron).
- a holding element flat iron
- the two radiator connections 3 are formed on a common connection element 25, as shown in FIG. 12.
- This connection element 25 has two further connections 26 for supply and return lines (not shown in more detail) and can be mounted as a structural unit in the connection box 2, for example using the mounting tabs 27.
- Particularly preferred is an embodiment of the connection element in which the two radiator connections 3 can be shut off .
- two ball valves 28 are provided for this purpose, which can be actuated, for example, using a screwdriver. This makes it possible to test the heating system for leaks before connecting radiators. After connecting the radiators, the valves 28 are opened.
- connection element 25 has a throttled short-circuit connection 29 between the feed line and the return line or the two corresponding connections 26.
- an adjusting element 30 is arranged in the short-circuit connection, by means of which the effective passage cross section between the supply and return lines can be changed. In the position with a smaller passage cross section, practically no heating medium flows through the short-circuit connection when the valves 28 and the radiator valve are open in two-pipe operation.
- the two shut-off valves 28 are closed, as is the case before the radiator is connected, at least a small flow of the heating medium can flow from the flow via the adjusting element the return flow, with which a trial heating operation is possible.
- the adjusting element has a relatively larger passage cross section, single-pipe operation is possible, in which heating medium also flows through the short-circuit connection 29 in normal operation.
- the radiator connections 3 can be mounted on the connection element 25 so as to be pivotable about vertical axes 31, so that in the position shown in FIG. 12 they take up as little space (shallow depth) as possible within the connection box 2. To connect the radiator, they can then be turned slightly and, if necessary, up to 90 ° forwards.
- a special cover part 32 serving as a tile template, as shown in FIGS. 13 to 15, is suitable instead of a flat cover area 5a.
- This special cover part 32 also fits exactly on the junction box 2 and covers it completely.
- the special cover part 32 protrudes forward over the front surface of the junction box 2, so it is not covered by any plaster layer, but extends through it to the outside.
- the special cover part 32 can have two lateral projections 33 which, after removal of the special cover part, leave free spaces for connecting lines to the radiator in the masonry or in the tiles.
- the special lid part is thus plastered, for example. Then flow to the side of the special cover part.
- the special cover part can then be removed to the front.
- the radiator connections 3 are thus exposed and can be located over the areas in which the projections 33 were previously the connection lines to the radiators are led out.
- the existing opening can be closed again in a visually appealing manner by means of a cover.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a connection device for a hot water radiator, with two radiator connections arranged in the area of a wallable connection box.
It is already known to pre-assemble radiator connections in the wall in a junction box open to the front. After completion of the wall of the building, a radiator can then be connected to the standardized radiator connections (AT-PS 287 981).
The object of the invention is to provide a connection device for a hot water radiator which can be easily pre-assembled in the building, in particular in a wall, and which enables a visually appealing impression.
According to the invention, this is achieved in a connection device of the type mentioned in the introduction in that the connection box has a cover on the front side facing the radiator and the two radiator connections have space under the cover inside the connection box.
In contrast to the known solution according to AT-PS 287 981, the radiator connections do not protrude from the wall, but are housed inside the junction box, which can be closed by a cover at the front. This makes it possible to completely wall the junction box and also to cover the front of the junction box, in particular the lid with masonry (generally a layer of plaster). This results in a first advantage of the connection device according to the invention. There can be several Connection devices can be present in a room, which are arranged invisibly behind a plaster layer. This later enables a freer room design, since the radiator can be connected to any of the initially hidden connection devices, as will be described below. The unused connection devices are invisible under the plaster ceiling. Even if the interior of the room is to be changed later, it is easily possible to connect the radiator at a different location with a different connection device.
But even if only a specific connection box provided for a specific radiator is provided, the connection device according to the invention has advantages. The connection can be made via pipes or flexible hoses. To access the radiator connections in the junction box It is advantageously provided that the cover, at least in the area of the radiator connections, consists of a material which can be driven in by means of a hand tool, preferably of foamed polystyrene or the like. Such a design makes it possible to use a simple hand tool, for example a small hammer or a larger screwdriver, to knock in the cover and the plaster layer above it. The cover and the plaster layer break and expose the area of the junction box in which the radiator connections are located. After the radiator has been connected to the preassembled radiator connections in the junction box, a cover with dimensions laterally beyond the dimensions of the cover can be connected to the junction box. This allows the radiator connections to be covered in a visually appealing way, so that you can only see two lines leading from the wall to the radiator, provided that they are not hidden behind the radiator itself.

Fig. 1 shows a walled in a
If a
Fig. 4 shows a section along the line IV-IV of Fig. 3 The junction box can for example consist of a foamed plastic, preferably polystyrene. 3 and 4 provides a
A holding
The cover shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 is made in two parts, the two
In addition to the simple cover shown in FIGS. 5a and 5b, a
As already mentioned, it is expedient to cover the opening in the wall created by removing or driving in the
The cover can also consist of two separate parts, the dividing line advantageously running through the outlet openings for leading out the connecting lines. It is also possible to cover previously installed connection lines (especially rigid pipes) afterwards.
Basically, it is possible that the
In order to enable a trial heating operation with a flowing medium, it is preferably provided that the
The
If you later want to flow away the wall in which the
