Description

DESCRIPTION
INSTALLATION KIT, HOUSING BOX5 PIPE FITTING, ELBOW ASSEMBLY, COUPLING CLAMP PROTECTING COVER AND VISUAL COVER ASSEMBLY
TECHNICAL FIELD
This invention is a frequently preferred product with its housing box, pipe fitting elbows and tee pieces, coupling clamp, protecting cover and visual cover assembly when manufacturing encased service installation works during construction stage in residential, commercial, hotels, etc. buildings so as to be connected to armatures, fixtures, radiators, etc. devices to be used in the living spaces from rising mains or from distribution header for protection of the end part of the pipes running through floor concrete, floor screed or through walls and for continuous testing, thus securing of the pipes coming to the devices, by offering visual quality as well as for ensuring such service installations used in the buildings to have longer life.
KNOWN STATUS OF TECHNIQUE
Today, when manufacturing liquid and gas piping service installations at the construction stage of buildings such as residential, commercial, hotels, etc., after placing of concretes, walling, and after or before plastering of walls, the installation pipes are mounted through floors or through walls in the rooms and on wet floors. However, one end of such installation pipes that are distributed to the living spaces is separated from the rising main or from the distribution header and the other end of the pipe runs through floors or through walls toward the relevant devices [heaters, coolers, armatures, etc.] to be installed on wet floors in the rooms. These pipe ends to be connected to the devices are mounted on the bends on floor concrete and in walls at any points and in any dimensions required according to the details of the entry/exit pipe connections of the devices and they are either held in that position or such pipe ends returning out from wall or from floor by using pilot return pieces are left in the room or in floor spaces at a length of 25-100 cm and the installation pipes are installed and the pressure and leakage tests are conducted, thus the first stage of installations is completed. In the meantime, it is awaited for completion of any other works of construction. If it is wished to conduct pressure test for installation pipes, some additional materials should be installed at pipe ends in order to test the pipes. However, such a situation increases the costs and such materials are disposed as scrap after use.
The other construction works required for finishing the structure are the walls and ceilings plastering, floors screed, wall and floor ceramics, parquet pavements, doors, frames and painting works, respectively. Upon completion of such works, the installation works should be completed as well. In such case, the pipe ends that can not be protected and some of these pipes that are left in space are crushed and broken due to their exposure to impacts as the construction continues, and the bend ends to be connected to the device are damaged and get clogged due to misalignment of their axis exiting from floor or due to ingress of concrete and similar materials. If it is wished to refurbish or repair these pipes at the stage of connecting them to the devices, it would cause the newly finished floor and wall coverings to be broken and the paints to be damaged. Furthermore, after life starts in the structures construction with devices connected and the system being in operation, the invisible pipes having been left under and covered by flooring, walling and plastering, which have been worn during construction stage, can not withstand the pressure, hence causing water leakages to occur. In such case, as a result of water leakage, both the structures and the goods in them are damaged. Since such defective installation pipes have to be repaired again, the extra cutoff and repair operations involved have adversities with respect to cost and labor. Due to the repaired pipes as a result of such operations, the floor and wall coverings have to be made again, but they can not be corrected healthily, hence causing an ugly scene and adversities with respect to quality.
The similar uses preferred today contain problems with respect to time and cost as well as labor and several material and moral losses for humans in the living spaces.
DEFINITION OF INVENTION The installation kit comprising a housing box, pipe fitting elbows and tee pieces, coupling clamp, protecting cover and visual cover assembly being the subject matter of the invention (to be referred hereinafter shortly as the INSTALLATION KIT) has been developed so as to be used in service installation works with its housing box which accommodates the ends of pipes to run up to the device in concealed installation works [heating, cooling, sanitary installations, gas supply installations, etc. ] required to be performed during or after construction works of any residential, commercial, hotels, etc. structures and ensures joining of the pipes with a pipe fitting elbow and allowing for fitting a blind flange at the other end of the joint, thus ensuring continuous testing and with its protecting cover that can be temporarily installed on the housing box, thus protecting the products accommodated in the housing box during construction works, and with its visual cover assembly to be closed in a space created by the housing box on flooring or on wall after the completion of all construction works and after all devices and fixtures connected to the services installations are mounted.
The installation kit comprising a housing box, pipe fitting elbows and tee pieces, coupling clamp, protecting cover and visual cover assembly, being the subject matter of the invention, can be manufactured from any kind of metals and plastic raw materials, which increases the choices of production, thus allowing the product of the present invention to be used in any service installation works. Pipe fitting elbow pieces can be produced from all raw materials composed of metals or plastics, which keep harmony with any pipes produced from various metal and different plastic raw materials used in various service installation works such as heating, cooling systems, gas supply and sanitary installations, and thus can be used in joining the ends of installation pipes as metal-to-plastic, plastic-to-metal, metal-to-metal, plastic-to-plastic. This provides a broad range of products to those who need them.
In the installation kit, the coupling clamp and the pipe fitting elbow assembly can be used separately, but it is also possible to use them directly as a complete unit, that is,, pipe fitting elbow assembly can be used with lugs and guides produced as fixed thereon. This feature provides the ease of use and alternative pipe connection details to the devices.
The invented installation kit housing boxes accommodate any pipe fittings manufactured as bends, tees, etc. in a space created by it in the main body. The axial dimensions of these joints have been developed such that the grooves, guides, holes, lug seat, clamp lug provided on the installation kit parts and all the parts joining with the seating groove sections are fixed in order to make joining and fixing adjustments and by producing solutions in joining the installation pipes with the devices thanks to the protecting cover and pipes inlet/outlet holes.
The housing boxes are manufactured in various sizes. The reason why is to ensure harmonization with any devices and armatures produced in various type. Namely, depending on the pipe inlet/outlet connections of radiators, armatures or devices whether being side by side or left-hand- right-hand sides or up-bottom sides of the devices, they are manufactured in various forms and sizes. For this reason, the installation kit is produced in various sizes and dimensions in order to ensure harmony with the pipe connection details of such devices, radiators and armatures and the housing box of the installation kit which allows mounting of single pipe fitting elbow assembly or double pipe fitting elbow assembly provides ease of use by producing solution in installation works. Furthermore, the housing boxes manufactured in smaller sizes in which a single pipe fitting elbow assembly is mounted can be joined side by side so as to allow usage in the installation works for any devices having double, triple, quadruple, etc. multiple inlets/outlets. Again by installing two pipe fitting elbow assemblies side by side in an housing box manufactured in greater size, it is ensured to allow for entry of two pipes and exit of two pipes to the device, complying with the pipes coming through the wall or floor and producing details for pipe connections with armatures, radiators or devices, which makes the installation kit of the present invention a preferable product.
The coupling clamp body that can be mounted inside of the housing boxes is removable when required and it has the feature of having lug, guide and bend seat on it. Thanks to this feature, it can be held fixed at the desirable place at the bottom of the housing box, thus producing solution for pipe connections of devices. Furthermore, this coupling clamp holds the pipe fitting elbow assembly by means of the seat and the coupler lugs provided thereon, ensuring that the pipe fitting clamp be held fixed in the housing box.
For connecting to a device used in the installations, the end of the installation pipe coming from distribution center is entered through the inlet hole of the housing box and joined with the Tee piece or with the bend, and then the necessary tightening works are performed. The coupling clamp, with required axial and dimensional adjustments made by means of the guide and lug provided thereon and thanks to the grooves and lug seat sections provided at the bottom of the housing box, joins with the inner base of the housing box and a square nut section provided on the coupling clamp enters into the seat on the clamp joining with the coupler lugs, thus placed in the inner space of the housing box. Furthermore, the pipe fitting with the lug, stand and guide sections provided thereon, is also placed in the inner space of the housing box.
Since one end of the pipe fittings will be joined with the installation pipe and the other mouth will be joined with the pipe to run from the device at the time when the construction has been finished, that mouth has been temporarily closed with a threaded blind flange for testing. This temporarily installed blind flange allows for testing of the installation pipes with pressurized water. The protecting cover parts of the installation kit are closed on the opening of the housing box by means of the holes, grooves provided on the cover, thus keeping the pipe to be connected to the device as well as the pipe fitting in a safe condition. In the meantime, the ongoing construction works of the structure (screed, plastering, floor and wall ceramics, parquet pavement, painting, etc) are waited to be finished. One of the most important features of the installation kit is that any installation pipes mounted in floor or in wall can be subjected to continuous testing. Namely, the blind flange which has been installed at one end of the pipe fitting elbow assembly is kept installed at the pipe fitting elbow assembly throughout the construction stage until the stage of making device connections is reached. Thanks to this, the mains water is supplied to the rising main provided in the structure or water is supplied to the system by pumping from water tank and thus the whole installations are continuously subjected to water pressure. During the construction stage until the installation stage of devices, all installation piping of the structure is subjected to pressurized water and hence all installation piping is protected. During the ongoing construction works of the structure, if any part of the installation piping which supplies water to the main distribution pipe is damaged by the workers, whether intentionally or unintentionally, causes failures, water leakages will occur since there is pressurized water in the system. Thanks to occurrence of such water leakage, the workers or the manager working in the construction will become instantly aware of this, and by making the required refurbishment or repair on that part of the installations, necessary measures will have been taken against any possible bad surprises and failures in future when life starts in the structure. Thanks to the installation kit being the subject matter of the present invention, since there will be no pipe in the environment (i.e. in the space) during the ongoing construction works, it is ensured for the workers to work comfortably and since there is no pipe to be crushed or broken, the mounting of devices will be facilitated. The product being the subject matter of invention also helps the loads that the columns and beams in any structures bear, which is namely as follows: at the stage of structural manufacturing, after reinforcements of floor RC are laid in the formwork, but before placing of concrete, the installation kit is fastened in the floor formwork or on reinforcements in line with the detailed measurements of any device for which the installation kit will help mounting and after laying the installation pipes in the formwork, the floor concrete is placed and thus the installation pipes are taken in the concrete. Since there are no pipes on floor concrete, there will be no need for a second concrete covering over the pipes, which ensure reduction in loads of foundations, columns, beams and reinforcements that are the bearing elements in structures. The product of the present invention reduces the construction costs and contributes to economy by providing time saving. When the stage of mounting the armatures and devices is reached during construction, the pressurized water in the system is discharged and the protecting cover of the housing box is opened and, after removal of the blind flange from the joint, the pipe connections to devices or armatures are performed, and the system is healthily taken into operation.
The visual cover assembly of the installation kit, offering visual quality, thus ending any ugly scenes experienced before this installation kit, namely as follows: after the construction and installation works of a structure have been finished and after completion of all floor and wall coverings in the rooms and in the wet floor sections (i.e. floor parquets, ceramics, wall faiences, paint coating, etc.) and after installation of devices and armatures, the pipe circuits are connected and the installation system is started up. Then, by cutting off the surplus materials on the visual cover installed in the space created by the housing box in floor or in wall and on the sliding covers joining with the cover main body to the pipe outlet axis and to the housing box main body dimensions, the sliding covers are mounted on the visual cover body. These sliding covers are joined by the vertically engaged beds after mounting of the visual cover on the main body. A ring which has been preinstalled on the pipe connected to the device is rested in the ring seat provided on the sliding covers. With the ring rested in its seat, which interconnects the visual cover main body and sliding covers and the connecting pipe to the device, the work is finished. Furthermore, the fact that the visual covers assembly can be manufactured in the same color as that of the floor or of the wall is another reason for preference of the product since it contributes to aesthetics.
As the visual cover installed in the space created by the housing box of the installation kit is a part that can be opened and closed when required, the modification or repair, if any, which is necessary to be done in the installations can be done by opening the visual cover to provide access to the installation pipes for replacement or repair thereof without breaking and damaging anything, thus helping the people both materially and morally. Thanks to the installations joining box, the visual pollution caused by pipes when exiting from floor or from wall is also eliminated and accordingly the customer satisfaction is ensured.
Thanks to the housing box, being one of the parts of the installation kit, which houses the end of the pipe to be used in the installation works which is to be connected to the device or to the armature as well as the relevant joint in the main body beside its protecting cover, thus ensuring to keep both the pipe and the joint in healthy condition during all other stages of the ongoing construction works and it also contributes to the economy by protecting them against corrosion. The invention with its protecting cover eliminates any ugly scenes by removing the pipe ends from exposed environment during manufacturing stages of installations and facilitates testing, reduces the construction costs and furthermore, provides ease of mounting. Beside these, when completing the construction stages of buildings, it protects water piping which is the veins of buildings against crushes and breakages as a measure against water leakages, and it eliminates breaks of floor coverings and plasters and discolorations that may occur in future and its providing visual quality by preventing the articles from getting dirty eliminates material and moral losses.
The invention provides ease of use at the relevant location with respect to its functionality. Furthermore, due to its durability and having a broad field of application, it is frequently preferable.

The housing box with a protecting cover (8) on it is one of the major parts, joining and integrating with the other parts with relevant breakdown shown below. Furthermore, this part, with pipe inlet/outlet opening (1.1) sections, is one of the major components constituting the installation kit which protects the structure during the construction stage where the pipes running from the rising main and from distribution header to radiators, armatures, etc. devices pass through these sections and are joined by the relevant joints, which accommodates the pipe ends and other joint bend assembly (7) or equivalent parts as well. Pipe inlet/outlet openings (1.1) section is the section which ensures the ends of pipes running from the rising main and from distribution header to enter into the housing box main body (1) so as to be joined with the pipe fitting elbow assembly (2). Screw holes (1.2) are used for passage of screws to fasten the housing box main body (1) to the floor or to the wall. The guide operation grooves (1.3) ensure that such guides as provided on the coupling clamp (6) or on the pipe fitting elbow assembly (2) engage in these grooves and they work there back and forth. The lug seats (1.4) is the section where the lugs provided on the coupling clamp (6) or on the pipe fitting elbow assembly (2) rest in these seats, ensuring that the coupling clamp (6) or the pipe fitting elbow assemblies (2) are held fixed at the inner bottom of the housing box main body (1). The screw fastening and side wall support beam (1.5) is the section where the housing box protecting cover-1 (8) and the housing box main body (1) are fastened together through screw, which also strengthens the section on the wall where the housing box main body (1) part is located. The abutment beam (1.6) is the section where the coupling clamp (6) or the joint bend assembly (2) rest against this section and stop in the housing box main body (1). The side wall support beam (1.7) is the section which gives strength and support to the side walls in the section where the housing box main body (1) is located. The bolt passage hole (1.8) is section which ensures the bolt to pass through this hole and to enter in. The nut seat (1.9) is the section which accommodates the nut that has been screwed to the bolt entering in by passing through the bolt passage hole (1.8), which also ensures screwing/unscrewing of the bolt and thus making elevation adjustment. The bottom support beams (1.10) are the section where such beams strengthen the bottom of the housing box main body (1) and make the housing box stronger. The operation grooves support beams (1.11) is the section which provides support and strength to these grooves when the guide operation grooves (1.3) and the guides provided on the coupling clamp (6) or on joint bend assembly (2) join and operate back and forth in the guide operation grooves (1.3).
The pipe fitting elbow assembly (2) comprises such parts and sections as the body (2.1), lug (2.2), stand and guide (2.3), nut tightening thread (2.4), sealing element (gasket) (2.5), tightening element (ring) (2.6) and tightening nut (2.7).
Such parts and sections as the body (2.1), lug (2.2), stand and guide (2.3), nut tightening thread (2.4), sealing element (gasket) (2.5), tightening element (ring) (2.6) and tightening nut (2.7) that join to form the pipe fitting elbow assembly (2), where the pipes running from the rising main and from distribution header to radiators, armatures, etc. devices are joined to both mouths of the pipe fitting elbow assembly (2), thus ensuring entry/exit of fluids and gases flowing through these pipes to/from such devices. During construction stage of structures, by joining one end of the pipe to be connected to the device and installing a blind flange at the other threaded mouth to ensure testing of the installations, and with this blind flange installed at its mouth, it ensures that the pipes are constantly kept under pressure. The guide operation grooves (1.3) on the housing box bodies (1) or on parts (9) thereof joining with the bottom stand and the guide (2.3) are placed in the space created by the housing box main body (1) which forms one of the major components of the installation kit.
The body (2.1) comprises the lug (2.2), bottom stand and guide (2.3), and nut tightening thread (2.4) sections. The stand and guide (2.3) section and housing box main body (1) guide operation grooves (1.3) section are engaged and joined, and thanks to the stand and guide (2.3) section, the body (2.1) runs back and forth in the guide operation grooves (1.3), which also accommodates the sealing element (2.5) and the ring (2.6.), while the tightening nut (2.7), together with the pipe end which has passed through the space, is screwed with the nut tightening thread (2.4) section and the body (2.1) that ensures the fluid coming in through the pipe is passed through is a part of the pipe fitting elbow assembly (2). The lug (2.2) which enters and rests in the lug seat (1.4) provided at the bottom of the housing box main body (1) is the section which ensures that the pipe fitting elbow assembly (2) be held fixed in the housing box main body (1). Furthermore, the lug (2.2), thanks to the choice of lug seat (1.4) provided at the bottom of the housing box main body (1), is the section which also helps making the axial adjustments of the pipes to be connected to radiators, armatures, etc. devices. The stand and guide (2.3) which engages in the guide operation grooves (1.3) provided at the bottom of the housing box main body (1) is the section which also ensures back and forth operation. The nut tightening thread (2.4) is the section which is screwed with the tightening nut (2.7) by means of the threads provided on it, thus ensuring that tightening nut (2.7) is fastened to the body (2.1). The sealing element (gasket) (2.5) which fits on the pipe connected to the body (2.1) between the front of the tightening element (ring) (2.6) and the nut tightening thread (2.4) is squeezed at the joining place when tightened by the tightening nut (2.7) and by the nut tightening thread section (2.4) and provides sealing, thanks to its softness and flexibility. The tightening element (ring) (2.6) which fits on the pipe connected to the body (2.1) is provided inside the tightening nut (2.7). It is also the part which is inserted to the nut tightening thread section (2.4), which, as the tightening nut is screwed (2.7) to one another, is tightened with the sealing element (gasket) (2.5) in front and thus holds the pipe and helps sealing. The tightening nut (2.7) is the part which, with its threaded section inside fastens with the nut tightening thread section on the body (2.1) and also fits over the pipe from the pipe end to be fastened to the body (2.1), taking the tightening element (ring) (2.6) in its front which has also already been fitted over the pipe and taking the sealing element (gasket) (2.5) in, and then screwed by threads provided on the nut tightening section (2.4) over that part of the pipe which is inserted into the body (2.1), thus fastening all the parts and making all sealing parts an integrity.
The visual cover bodies (3) are composed of the detachable side pieces (3.1), cover support beams (3.2), pipe passage channel (3.3), cutoff groove lines (3.4) section, bolt hole (3.5), pipe passage hole (3.6), moving visual covers joining and operation groove (3.7) and the rests on walls, floors (3.8.).
With the installation kit which completes the visual quality by the visual cover bodies (3), moving visual covers (4) and fixing ring (5), the floor and wall covering works (i.e. floor parquets and ceramics, wall faiences, paint coating) of the rooms and wet floor sections, which are the living spaces, are completed after completion of the construction stages of structures. When the stage of mounting of devices and armatures starts in order to complete the installation works, the housing box protecting cover (8) or (10) closing on the respective housing box body (1) or (9) is opened and the heating, cooling devices and armatures are mounted on walls and on floor. Then the blind flanges installed at one end of the joints held in the housing boxes (1) or (9) are removed from their places and the connections of pipes between the devices and the respective joints are completed. The joints mounted for completion of installations are retested again and the completed installation pipes and the radiators, armatures, etc. devices are started up (taken into operation). Thereafter, the surplus materials of the sliding covers joined with the visual cover installed in the space created by the housing box in the floor or in the wall are cut to the pipe exiting axis dimension and the sliding covers are mounted on the main body of visual cover. The system that is thus turned into a single part as the visual cover assembly, which keeps harmony with its environment and can be opened when required providing access to this part of the installations.
This part having detachable side pieces (3.1) is the section which can be straightly and easily cut off from the visual cover bodies (3), thanks to its lines, in order to keep harmony with the housing box main body (1) or (9) when the housing box main body (1) or (9) is mounted on the floor or on baseboards. The cover support beams (3.2) are the sections which provide support to the body below the main body cover from the visual cover bodies (3), hence enhancing the strength of the cover parts. The pipe passage channel (3.3), which keeps harmony with the pipes exiting through the housing box bodies (1) or (9) as well as with the pipe connection axes of the respective devices,, is the section which provides ease of mounting by easily installation through the visual cover bodies (3) after the pipe connections of devices are completed. The cutoff groove lines (3.4) section is the section, having detachable side pieces (3.1) desired to be cut off from the visual cover bodies (3), which helps cutting off such parts in a straight line from the visual cover bodies (3). The bolt hole (3.5) is the section through which it is allowed to pass the bolt used to fix the visual cover bodies (3) onto the housing box bodies (1) or (9). The pipe passage hole (3.6) is the section through which the pipe exits, as mounted in the housing box main body (1) or (9) and keeping harmony with the pipes exiting from the pipe fitting elbow assembly (2) or (7). The moving visual covers joining and operation groove (3.7) is the section which joins the moving big cover (4.1) and the moving small cover (4.2) contained in the moving covers assembly (4) by means of the engagement lug (4.4) which is a section thereof, and thus ensuring the moving big cover (4.1) and the moving small cover (4.2) to operate back and forth in this groove. The rest on floor and wall (3.8) is the section which ensures the visual cover bodies (3) closing over the space created by the housing box body (1) or (9) in the floor or in the wall to be engaged in floor or in wall when closing over this space.
The moving visual covers (4) comprise such sections and parts, namely as the moving big cover (4.1), moving small cover (4.2), ring seat (4.3), engagement lugs (4.4), cutoff grooves (4.5), joining grooves (4.6), support beams (4.7) and pipe passage channel (4.8).
The engagement lugs (4.4) which are a section of the moving big cover (4.1) and the moving small cover (4.2), being the parts of the moving visual cover assembly (4), engage in the moving visual covers joining and operation groove (3.7) provided in the visual cover bodies (3), thus causing the moving big cover (4.1) and the moving small cover (4.2) join one another. The moving big cover (4.1) and the moving small cover (4.2) operating back and forth in the moving visual covers joining and operation groove (3.7) and on the visual cover bodies (3), which keep harmony with the centerline of the pipe exiting from the joint in the housing box to the device, while keeping harmony with the visual cover bodies (3) by means of the cutoff grooves (4.5), cover the spaces and provide visual quality. The moving big cover (4.1) and the moving small cover (4.2) are the parts which work by moving back and forth in the moving visual covers joining and operation groove (3.7) provided on the visual cover bodies (3) by means of the engagement lugs (4.4) section which engages in the moving visual covers joining and operation groove (3.7). The ring seat (4.3) is located on the moving big cover (4.1) and the moving small cover (4.2). The engagement lugs (4.4) are also provided on the same section, which engage in and join with the moving visual covers joining and operation groove (3.7) provided on the visual cover bodies (3), and the seat of the fixing ring (5) is formed when the moving big cover (4.1) and the moving small cover (4.2) are joined through the joining grooves (4.6).
