Definitions

  • the subject of the present invention is a device intended for dehumidifying a room or a habitable volume by evacuation towards the outside of a wall, of the humidity contained in the back of it within the room or the corresponding living space.
  • a device intended to evacuate to the outside of a wall the moisture contained in the back of said wall within a room or a living space is consisting on the one hand of two cavities forming siphons provided with a recess in their bottom inclined receiving a tight junction conduit and on the other hand condenser consisting of a thermal conductive rod placed on a slope directed towards the outside in the said sealed conduit by providing a vent passage and that the part lower of said rod receives fixed on it a thin plate of material porous forming an evaporator.
  • the oldest and best known is the "Knappen" trap, for the visible part, cast iron grids of a few centimeters in diameter laid, generally in staggered rows, at a certain distance each other at the outer base of thick stone walls.
  • a porous plate placed in a cavity in contact with the outside air, produces the same double effect of siphoning and evaporation producing cold which relatively accelerates the process, on the other hand, this cold, driving force of condensation, is, moreover, it leads to inside the house.
  • French framework has been proposed in French patent FRA-2647832.
  • conductive metal brought into contact with the outside air on the one hand and with the inside air on the other hand to constitute a cold condensation zone for example in a veranda.
  • FR Patent No. 2 252475 describes a wick introduced in the water drain hole at the base of a frame designed to conduct water, collected at the bottom of the drip tray and resulting from infiltration or condensation on the glazing, outwards by draining it; but such a system removes the vent passage yet essential for balancing pressures between interior and exterior.
  • the device forming a siphon-condenser-evaporator it is rather sought direct and punctual contact of the outside fresh air with the evaporator of a share, as well as with indoor humid air on the condenser:
  • patent GB A2 199 934 describes a dehumidification device comprising a condenser made of a thermally conductive material and which is provided with a important passage which allows air circulation:
  • the present invention relates to a device intended to evacuate to the outside of a wall the moisture contained at the rear of said wall at within a room or living space of the type comprising a characterized condenser in that the said device consists on the one hand of two cavities forming siphons provided with a recess at their bottom receiving an inclined connection conduit sealed and on the other hand the condenser consisting of a thermal conductive rod placed in a slope directed towards the outside in the said watertight conduit while providing a vent passage and that the lower part of said rod receives fixed on it a plate thin in porous material forming an evaporator.
  • the rod is full and has an outside diameter less than the diameter inside the duct so as to provide a peripheral vent passage.
  • the rod consists of a tube whose outside diameter corresponds substantially to the inner diameter of the duct and the central recess of which defines the vent.
  • the plaque forming an evaporator is provided with peripheral orifices substantially tangent to the outer diameter of the rod.
  • the evaporator plate is provided a central hole corresponding to the internal diameter of the recess of the rod.
  • a wick arranged at the level of the vent-forming passage for example between rod and conduit or inside the recess of the rod formed by a tube. According to another characteristic the said wick is provided with a tip protruding down the rod and forming evaporator. Grids are intended to fit over the cavity openings forming a siphon.
  • cavities are provided with a flange behind which is arranged flat parts intended for the reception of fixing screws and between which is disposed a sleeve for connection to the conduit.
  • Figure 1 shows a siphon-condenser-evaporator assembly in section.
  • Figure 2 is a front view of the siphoning cavity provided with the evaporator.
  • Fig 3 is the closing grid of the siphon.
  • Fig 4 is a variant in which the condenser rod is full and provided with lower end of an evaporator pierced at the periphery.
  • Fig 5 is a section showing the sealed conduit with the condenser in its bed with a wick inserted in its center and whose tip protrudes from the bottom siphon for constitute an evaporator.
  • Fig 6 is a section also of the sealed conduit but comprising a condenser full with a wick at the bottom of the bed whose end protrudes from the bottom siphon for constitute an evaporator.
  • Fig 7 corresponds to an end view of Figure 6 showing the wick at the bottom of the bed.
  • FIG. 8 corresponds to an end view of FIG. 5 showing the wick introduced in axis of the hollow condenser.
  • Fig 9 is a longitudinal section of the siphon as a variant of Figure 4 with a evaporator attached to the end of the condenser without hole.
  • Figure 10 is a section of the sealed conduit and the top and bottom siphons of all.
  • the device forming a siphon-condenser-evaporator according to FIG. 1 is remarkable. in that a hollow thermally conductive metal rod (1) Figl is sloped directed outwards after passing through a frame (2) or a wall of thin, the rising part being directed inwards, the said rod or condenser (1) consisting of a tube whose outside diameter corresponds substantially the internal diameter of the duct (3) has a central recess defining the vent, and is housed in the sealed conduit (3) connected to two concave parts (4) and (4A) or siphons, symmetrically inverted, inside which said rod (1) comes into contact with the outside air at the bottom (4A) on the one hand, and with the inside air at the top (4) on the other base of the condenser towards the outside being provided for example perpendicularly with a plate (5), fixed on the lower part of the conductive rod, thin in porous material forming an evaporator, pierced with a hole (6) corresponding to the diameter inside of the rod recess (1)
  • the water reaches the base by gravity, soaks the plate made of porous material (5) attached to the condenser nozzle (1), all of which ends up in a cavity, or siphon lower (4A), concave curved downwards; generating a descending air passage (AA) drying up the plate, increasing the weight of the water molecules torn from the said plate (5) on its way and flowing down before coming out (BB) creating a vacuum relative, or depression, and the concomitant introduction by siphoning of a new volume air (AA) and so on, all functioning as soon as the dew point is obtained, it is at say; time when the indoor air humidity saturation coincides so as to find exchanged on a sufficiently cold point near a passage favoring the convection as can be, for example, a window.
  • AA descending air passage
  • the thermal conductive rod, or condenser (1 ') can be full and outside diameter smaller than the inside diameter of the duct (3), the passage of air vent as well as the water of condensation are channeled in this case by the waterproof conduit (3) and is carried out at the periphery by a passage at least equivalent in volume to the hollow (7) of Figure 1 but created all around; in this case several holes (6 ') are made on the plate (5 ') in porous material called the evaporator, at the periphery of the condenser so substantially tangent externally to the external diameter of the rod (1).
  • the siphon cavities upwards inwards (4) and downwards outwards (4A), which can be made of molded plastic are symmetrically inverted and connected between them through a frame previously pierced by a means known per se and the angle of incidence which is defined in itself according to the inclination of the system, for example between 30 ° and 45 ° by a junction conduit (3) adjustable in length, at the foot survey; whose function is to isolate the condenser (1), and the humidity it has collected, from the partition it must cross.
  • Each siphon (4) and (4A) is formed by a concave part as illustrated in FIG. 10 having a stapling collar (F) purposely for stapling a grid (8); the said siphon is provided behind said collar (F) with relatively flat upper and lower parts parallel to the plane of the collar, intended for receiving the fixing screws, for example by screwing, to the frame or to the partition provided. These parts being connected to the collar by walls (G) and (G '), between which is placed a sleeve (H) which receives internally or externally by gluing the sealed junction conduit (3) in plastic material.
  • a grid (8) also made of molded material adapts by stapling known manner either on the opening of the cavity forming the top siphon (4).
  • the thermal conductive rod, or condenser (1) or (1 ') can be installed alone in the waterproof duct (3), without having been proceeded to fix the evaporator (5) to its base towards the outside, in this case the point dew is slightly delayed at the tip of the condenser inward at the top, and the condensation water is relatively lower:
  • This drawback can be corrected by installing a greater number of siphons-condenser-evaporator for a room to be dehumidified.
  • the vent passage (7) whether it is located in the center of the condenser (1) according to, for example Fig 5, or else it takes place on the periphery of said condenser left free relative to the sealed conduit (3), according to Figure 6; in these two case we can proceed to the introduction of a wick (M), arranged at the level of the passage forming a vent, for example between rod (1) and conduit (3) or inside the recess of the rod (1) forming a tube, the so-called wick has the function of mopping the droplets formed, by dew point, on the upper part of the condenser towards the inhabited room, or no, then lead the water to the base, either on the one hand on the evaporator (5), or even directly when the evaporator described above has not been placed in the cavity (4A) of low siphoning; the end of said wick (M) is then provided with a tip (P) protruding down the rod (1) and forming an evaporator (P) Fig 6, in the event that
  • the condenser (1) according to another variant illustrated in Figure 9 between very freely in the sealed junction pipe (3), where it rests by pressing on the wick (M) in its mediating bed so that the outside air (S) passes over its periphery upper and lateral left free then forming a vent, the porous plate or evaporator (5 ") not provided with a central opening and can be fixed to the nozzle of the condenser (1) for example by gluing, this one having to leave between its part upper and the wall (G) of the upper bottom of the siphon (4A) a space of passage for air circulation (S). Maintaining the condenser can be ensured peripherally by abutment on the lower grid (8).
  • Such a system of the invention of the siphon-condenser-evaporator having the aim, not only to sanitize a damp room, but moreover, by drying it, to realize savings because the impression of cold is stronger at equal temperature depending on whether one lives in a humid place compared to a drier place.
  • Such a device is applicable to the building, frames, doors, windows, verandas and mobile homes of the caravan type.
  • This device also interests the activity of oversitling concomitantly by being installed in its more or less immediate proximity.
