Gehäuse für Vorschaltgeräte zum Betrieb von Entladungslampen und Halogenglühlampen setzen sich im wesentlichen aus einem Unter- und Oberteil mit rechteckigen Abmessungen zusammen. VDE 0860) erfüllenden Gehäusen ist das Oberteil aus drei getrennten Abdeckkappen zusammengesetzt, wobei die mittlere Abdeckkappe nicht abnehmbar mit dem Unterteil verbunden ist und das Vorschaltgerät umgibt. Die seitlich rechts und links der mittleren Abdeckkappe angeordneten Kappen decken die elektrischen Netzanschlüsse bzw. Durch die senkrechten Rippen innen an den Längs-Seitenwänden der seitlichen Abdeckkappen, die in entsprechende Nuten der seitlichen Haltelaschen an der mittleren Abdeckkappe eingreifen, wird ein Abziehen der seitlichen Abdeckkappen in der Gehäuse-Längsrichtung verhindert. Durch die waagerechte Rippe an der Schmal-Seitenwand der mittleren Abdeckkappe, die in die Nut der an der Deckfläche der seitlichen Abdeckkappen angesetzten mittleren Haltelasche eingreift, wird auch ein fester Halt in senkrechter Richtung erreicht.
