Abstract

Ceiling luminaires, in particular built-in ceiling luminaires often have to be accessible from below and therefore have a corresponding constructive structure of the luminaire housing. The light source which can be inserted in a main reflector of the luminaire is in this case usually arranged at a socket holder which is mounted on the luminaire housing. In high-quality ceiling luminaires, specific photometric requirements must be met which in particular assume that the focal spot of the light source is arranged at a photometrically specified point with reference to the main-beam axis of the luminaire. In known ceiling luminaires, tolerances in terms of material and production result in this focal spot being repositioned. To compensate for tolerances of luminaire dimensions, the vertex plane of the main reflector (3) of the luminaire is selected as reference plane. The light source (5), together with its socket (10) and the socket holder (9, 11) is constructed as a unit with narrow tolerances, which is supported directly, preferably movable along the main-beam axis, on the main reflector in this reference plane. This solution can be advantageously used in particular in high-quality ceiling luminaires, in which light-shaping elements, such as diffusing screens, filters and the like, and whose thickness dimensions frequently have large tolerances due to production, are arranged in the light exit opening. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a ceiling lamp according to the preamble of claim 1.

In known ceiling lights, it is not uncommon for the light exit opening of the lamp to be covered by a pane, which is used, for example, for glare control. It can e.g. As a refractor, due to its refractive properties, prevent light emitted by the possibly radiation-intensive light source from escaping directly and instead distribute it as evenly as possible over the entire area of the light outlet opening of the lamp, thereby avoiding direct glare. In other cases, such light-shaping elements in the light exit opening can be used in particular to adapt the light distribution curve of the recessed ceiling light to given requirements. Furthermore, such cover panes can also be used for functional reliability, in this case they can be designed, for example, as UV filters, protect them against a possibly defective and breaking light source, but they can also only close the light exit opening in a dustproof manner.

A large number of applications are conceivable in which the light exit opening of a ceiling light is covered by a preferably flat cover plate. In many applications, in particular when the requirements for the lighting properties of such a ceiling light are not too high, such a cover plate does not form a particularly critical component for the design and the function, for example, of a recessed ceiling light. In applications, however, in which with the help of a very specific design of the ceiling light, special lighting technology Properties to be created specifically, such a cover pane provided in the light outlet opening of the ceiling lamp can be a critical component. Even if one does not take into account different lighting properties of such a cover element, the unavoidable, relatively high geometrical tolerances that readily occur in industrial glasses can be of great importance for the lighting technology of such a sophisticated ceiling lamp.

If the design of the ceiling light does not take into account these tolerances of a cover plate, it may well happen that these add up to other manufacturing tolerances of the ceiling light in such a way that an error size results, due to which, for example, the light source is no longer seated in the intended position . If it is out of focus, in particular with regard to the lamp reflector, possibly further auxiliary reflectors, the desired lighting properties of the ceiling lamp can only be achieved incompletely in the event of such a fault. In the case of high-quality ceiling lights, however, such a tolerance range is also unsustainable with regard to the lighting characteristics, since the customer will not accept it.

For the lighting function of a high-quality lamp, it is essential that the focal spot of the light source occupies a predetermined position with respect to the reflector arrangement. The exact positioning of the light source is therefore given due consideration.

From DE-A1-38 17 861 a battery lamp with a concave mirror reflector is known, which is used as a holder for an incandescent lamp with a screw base has a neck extension integrated into the reflector into which the light bulb can be screwed. It is assumed that the distance between the filament of the incandescent lamp and the bottom of its lamp base is a closely tolerated, defined size. The tolerance problem for the positioning of the incandescent lamp in the concave mirror reflector can thus be solved if a stop edge is provided in the neck for this base of the incandescent lamp to be screwed in. A disadvantage of this solution is that with such a socket for the light source integrated into the reflector of the luminaire - systematically determined - the area of application is limited to a certain type of lamp which is as standardized as possible and of course the manufacture of the concave mirror reflector with a socket integrated therein is higher Requires tools and is therefore more expensive. In the case of a mass product, such as a battery lamp, this can still be economically justified, but such a solution is not suitable for all applications.

This problem has already been recognized. EP-A1-0 529 356 describes an adapter for a parabolic reflector and a holder for a light source. What is decisive for this known solution is a constructive design of the adapter, which makes it possible to also use a different type of socket in a reflector which is initially designed to hold only one particular lamp holder. In this case, this adapter, which then carries a holder that cannot be used directly in the existing reflector, is fixed in a breakthrough in the apex of the reflector with the aid of latching elements. When designing this adapter, it is also taken into account here that it must be designed such that a lamp inserted into the socket of the adapter, with its focal spot, occupies a defined position with respect to the reflector carrying the adapter.

These known solutions to the problem of exactly positioning the focal spot of a light source with respect to a luminaire reflector are based on the assumption that the tolerance problem between the lamp and the lamp holder is controlled relatively well. It is therefore permissible to fix the lamp holder on the lamp reflector and thus indirectly define the location of the lamp's focal spot in the lamp reflector. A disadvantage of these known solutions is the constructive starting point to design a mechanical connection between the lamp holder and the lamp reflector in such a way that the lamp reflector itself carries the holder directly.

It would therefore be desirable to be able to automatically adjust the focal spot of the lamp with respect to the luminaire reflector when installing the lamp or after replacing a lamp during maintenance work with relatively little outlay in terms of production technology.

In this context, an embodiment of a recessed ceiling light known from EP-A1-0 233 465 is of interest, with which the problem of assembly and maintenance, which is particularly critical in recessed ceiling lights, is to be solved. This has a pot-shaped lamp holder, which is inserted into a ceiling opening and resiliently clamped there. This lamp holder forms the holder for a removable lamp unit. This luminaire unit is formed by a cylindrical insert, which is guided in the cup-shaped luminaire holder and has an inwardly projecting flange on the inside of the luminaire, against which the actual luminaire reflector lies with its outer edge. A lamp base with an associated lamp is inserted into the top of this reflector. Associated with this lamp base is a lamp holder, which in turn is covered by a holder. This lampholder is clamped with the insert via spiral springs. The socket holder thus forms, together with the insert and the luminaire parts arranged in between, a composite luminaire unit, which can be removed from the lamp holder and thus the ceiling opening for maintenance purposes. The disadvantage here is that this lamp unit must be completely disassembled and reassembled after a lamp change.

Based on the knowledge that precisely in the manufacturing technically unavoidable tolerances, even high-quality cover glasses can be a major cause of failure for the poor lighting quality of ceiling lights, the present invention has for its object to develop a ceiling light of the type mentioned in such a way that due to the construction principle of one Such a luminaire, the manufacturing tolerances of such cover plates and other luminaire components are as safe as possible and thereby eliminated in a simple manner.

According to the invention this object is achieved in a ceiling lamp of the type mentioned by the features specified in claim 1.

This solution is based on the consideration that in a lighting development of a lamp, especially if almost point-shaped light sources with high light intensity are to be used in the lamp, the starting point of the design of the location of the focal spot of the lamp with respect to the deflecting the emitted light Reflector environment is. It is therefore necessary to ensure constructively that, despite the given material and manufacturing tolerances, this precondition, which is referred to here as the focus condition, is observed as precisely as possible. This geometric assignment of the light source to the reflectors of the luminaire is a basic requirement for perfect lighting properties, but it cannot be implemented immediately without a complex adjustment in order to eliminate the tolerances mentioned in terms of production technology.

This is where the invention comes in. According to the solution according to the invention, the aim is not to minimize material and / or manufacturing tolerances in order to achieve the result of designing the ceiling lamp as free of tolerances as possible, rather the structural design of the ceiling lamp is designed so that it is able to avoid such unavoidable costs with reasonable effort Compensate tolerances for each individual luminaire individually. It is first included in the consideration that reflector units of a luminaire, whether the main or auxiliary reflector is immaterial here, are the dimensions which are most closely tolerated, in addition to the light sources themselves. Furthermore, it becomes possible to take into account the largest possible absolute error if one uses the inner surface of the cover plate as a reference plane in the construction of the ceiling light. This is based on the knowledge that the tolerant thickness of this cover plate — viewed from a lighting point of view — is only of subordinate importance with regard to the perfect functioning of the lamp.

This results in the construction concept for a luminaire designed according to the invention, in which the inner surface of the cover plate facing the light source is used as the indirect reference plane. Since the distance between the vertex of the main reflector and its outer edge is a tightly tolerated, manageable size, the main reflector of the lamp is placed directly on the inside of the cover plate according to the construction principle according to the invention and this vertex of the main reflector as a derived reference point for the arrangement of the light source in the ceiling light. It is also taken into account that it is also technically manageable to maintain the distance of the focal spot of the light source from its base - based on the requirements - exactly. Derived, this also applies in a corresponding manner to the light source used in a base socket.

The invention now realizes these considerations in such a way that, according to the construction principle according to the invention, on the one hand the main reflector is arranged with its outer edge directly related to the inner surface of the cover plate facing the light source and on the other hand the light source itself is closely tolerated with respect to the vertex of this main reflector. This is achieved in that the holder for the light source is arranged in a fastening element which is movably guided along the central axis of the lamp and which is supported at the apex of the main reflector.

Regardless of the material tolerances of the cover plate or the manufacturing tolerances for the luminaire housing, it follows that only negligible tolerances between the location of the focal spot of the light source and the base geometry or base socket - in the case of the mounted light source and tolerances in the dimensions of the base mounting - have an influence on the lighting technology Characteristics of the lamp could have. In part, however, as explained above, these tolerances are negligible due to a highly developed manufacturing technology at the current state of the art, but in part they are manageable, provided one is aware that the dimensions of the fastening element for the base of the light source and the arrangement of this base on the fastening element for the realization of a lamp designed according to the invention with properties that are qualitatively satisfactory in terms of lighting technology are of essential importance.

Finally, the inventive design of this design principle for a ceiling lamp solves the underlying task in a very simple and particularly cost-effective manner. In the axially longitudinally movable arrangement of the fastening element for the socket of the light source, which is optionally supported by appropriate pretensioning forces, a particularly effective, technically simple and therefore inexpensive solution has been found to solve the tolerance problem described, without special requirements for the rest of the design of the luminaire housing to have to face.

Further advantages of the solution according to the invention result from further developments which are characterized in the subclaims. They are explained in more detail below in the description of an embodiment of the invention. This description is based on the drawing, showing:
  • FIG. 1 schematically shows a ceiling with a ceiling opening for using a ceiling lamp,
  • 2 shows a cross section through a ceiling lamp designed according to the invention and usable in this ceiling opening with a base holder for the light source of the ceiling lamp and which is movably mounted for tolerance compensation in the direction of the main beam axis of the ceiling lamp
  • Figure 3 in a detail a plan view of this base bracket.

The ceiling opening 101 shown schematically in FIG. 1 in a ceiling 1 is provided for inserting a ceiling lamp. In Figure 2, such a ceiling lamp is shown in simplified cross-section, at least in the details that are important in the present case. A pot-shaped luminaire housing 2 is shown, in which a main reflector 3, to which an auxiliary reflector 4 is assigned in this example as a divided reflector. For the present case, it is of secondary importance how the main and auxiliary reflectors 3 and 4 are structurally assigned to one another. Since this is only one example of a reflector design of a ceiling lamp, it can be assumed that the concentric assignment of these two reflectors 3 and 4 is given. A light source 5 shown in broken lines in FIG. 2 is used in this reflector arrangement. In the light exit opening of the lamp, i.e. At the lower edge of the reflector arrangement 3 or 4, a cover disk 6 is provided perpendicularly and transversely to the main beam axis of the lamp. A cover ring 7, which includes this cover plate, forms a design element, at the same time it covers the ceiling opening 1 and its inevitable tolerances with respect to the lamp diameter.

Based on the fact that the tolerances of the cover plate 6, here primarily with regard to its thickness, form a significant factor influencing the lighting properties of the lamp, a double-walled, ring-shaped insert 8 is provided, on which both the cover plate 6 and the cover ring 7 are set. This insert 8 is pushed over the lower edge of the lamp housing 2. The insert 8 enables the inner surface of the cover plate 6 assigned to the light source 5 to be placed directly on the outer edge of the main reflector 3 facing the light outlet opening of the lamp. This is also a requirement the auxiliary reflector 4 is positioned with respect to this inner surface of the cover plate 6.

In principle and by way of example, the base surface 21 of the lamp housing 2, which is located on the inside of the ceiling when the ceiling lamp is mounted, can be thought of as a sheet metal strip, but it could also be self-contained, that is to say circular. With regard to this base surface 21, the socket of the light source 5 and thus this itself is to be arranged. In the present case, this is done with the aid of a U-shaped, double-angled fastening element 9, on which the holder 10 for the light source 5 is mounted. The horizontal base surface of this fastening element 9 is in turn fixed on a guide bracket 11. This guide bracket 11 has lugs 110 which face away from the fastening element 9 and are angled upwards and are guided through the base surface 21 in a piercing manner.

Der Vollständigkeit halber ist in Figur 2 angedeutet, daß an dem Leuchtengehäuse 2 eine Leitungsanschlußklemme 12 festgelegt ist, über die -wegen der veränderbaren Lage der Fassung 10 in unterbrochenen Linien angedeutet- Leitungen 13 zur Stromzuführung an die Fassung 10 gelegt sind.FIG. 3 schematically indicates in a section of the base surface 21, which is embodied here by way of example, that the guide angle 11 has projections 110 which are arranged in pairs symmetrically to the main beam axis of the lamp and which are guided axially movably in preferably relatively narrowly tolerated sections 210 of the base surface. If these cutouts are only intended to guide but not to center, a receiving bore 211 can be provided in the base surface 21 of the lamp housing 2 coaxially to the main beam axis of the ceiling lamp, in which a centering pin 111 is guided. This is fixed on the guide bracket 11, possibly also on the fastening element 9, in order to center the socket 10 of the light source 5 with respect to the main beam axis of the ceiling lamp. For the sake of completeness, it is indicated in FIG. 2 that a line connecting terminal 12 is fixed to the luminaire housing 2, via which lines 13 are connected to the socket 10 for supplying current, because of the changeable position of the socket 10 in broken lines.

The described construction principle for a ceiling lamp is based on its essentially lighting function on the fact that it automatically focuses the light source 5 with respect to the reflector arrangement, in particular the main reflector 3, by means of an axially movably guided mounting of the socket of the light source 5 and without manual adjustment. This is because the fastening element 9, on which the socket for the light source 5 and thus this itself is fixed, is supported in the apex of the main reflector 3. Regardless of the dimensions of the luminaire housing 2 and also the above all critical tolerances of the cover plate 6, the light source 5 will therefore always be at the focal point of the reflector arrangement, provided only the actual fastening elements for the light source 5, i.e. the socket 10 and the fastening element 9 are accordingly closely tolerated. However, this can be achieved with a technically justifiable effort.

As indicated in FIG. 2, a spring element in the form of a leaf spring 14 can additionally be arranged between the base surface 21 and the guide bracket 11 in order to attach the light source in addition to the dead weight of the light source 5, holder 10 and fastening element 9 via the guide bracket 11 5 to apply an additional force with which the free legs of the fastening element 9 are then supported in the apex plane on the main reflector 3.

This example also shows that the embodiment of the invention described above is only a preferred embodiment. Knowing the teaching according to the invention, a number of possibilities remain for a person skilled in the art to constructively design such an axially movably mounted fastening of the light source 5 in the respective applications and in adaptation to certain reflector or housing designs. Furthermore, it is for the expert It goes without saying that such luminaire designs can also be realized with different light sources. However, this applies in particular to almost punctiform light sources, such as halogen incandescent lamps or, for example, also HQS lamps.
