Abstract

A shower screen includes a swinging leaf (2) which is mounted pivotably with respect to a frame profile (4) by means of a hinge, permanent magnets (24, 26) being provided as sealing elements between the swinging leaf (2) and the frame profile (4). This shower screen is to be further developed such that, with high functional reliability, good sealing and low wear are achieved while avoiding frictional losses. As a solution, it is proposed that the one permanent magnet (24) is arranged in the region of a concave inner face (14) of the frame profile (4), that the other permanent magnet (26) is arranged in the region of a convex outer face (16) of a profile (12) of the swinging door (2), and that at least the inner face (14) or the outer face (16) is arranged substantially coaxially with respect to the swinging axis (6) of the swinging leaf (2). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a shower partition with a swivel wing according to the features specified in the preamble of claim 1.

Such a shower partition is known from DE-C-38 38 590, which has a magnetic seal between a fixed partition element and the swivel wing. The magnetic seal contains mutually opposite magnetic strips on the separating element and the pivoting wing, which attract one another in the closed state of the pivoting wing due to predetermined magnetization and are arranged essentially in the same plane as the pivoting wing and the separating element. If the swivel wing is slightly open, the magnetic seal is ineffective and splash water can escape from the inside of the shower partition through a gap between the separating element and the swivel wing. There is also the risk that when the pivoting wing is closed, a user can pinch his fingers between the pivoting wing and the fixed separating element. Furthermore, it cannot be ruled out in practice that, due to inaccuracies, soiling or the like, the magnetic strips in the closed state do not lie tightly against one another in the required manner and consequently shower or spray water can escape to the outside.

Furthermore, a shower partition is known from DE-U-75 39 749, the pivoting wing or revolving door of which is pivotally mounted about a substantially vertical axis with respect to a profile. The profile is part of a frame of the shower partition and can be conveniently attached to the wall of a bathroom or shower room. This frame profile has an essentially U-shaped cross section and contains two sealing strips which extend over the vertical height. There is a hinge which defines the vertical pivot axis of the door wing and is connected on the one hand to the frame profile and on the other hand to a vertical profile of the door or swing wing. The vertical profile of the swivel wing has on its side facing the frame profile an essentially cylindrical outer surface coaxial with the swivel axis. However, two projections protrude from the outer surface, into which the sealing elements of the frame profile engage in the closed position of the swivel wing and thus define the rest position for the swivel wing. The sealing strips and the recesses must be adjusted very precisely to one another, and the service life of the shower partition is disadvantageously limited by friction. Furthermore, the frame profile contains openings and areas that are difficult to access, in which lime or dirt residues can accumulate, as a result of which hygiene requirements are not met.

Proceeding from this, the object of the invention is to further develop the shower partition in such a way that the smooth movement of the swivel or door leaf is ensured for a long service life and nevertheless a secure fixation of the rest position of the swivel leaf is ensured. The movement of the swivel wing should only require a small amount of force, and friction losses should be reduced to a minimum. A functionally reliable fastening is to be achieved with little effort. Furthermore, the vertical alignment of the swivel wing, in particular, should be able to be carried out without any problems with little construction effort.

Die Lösung dieser Aufgabe erfolgt gemäß den kennzeichnenden Merkmalen des Anspruchs 1.This object is achieved in accordance with the characterizing features of claim 1.

The proposed shower partition is characterized by a functionally reliable construction and ensures a long service life and nevertheless safe storage and sealing of the swivel wing in the area of the hinge. The frame profile contains a concave inner surface coaxial with the swivel axis, which is arranged to form a narrow gap with respect to the convex outer surface of the vertical profile of the swivel wing, which is also coaxial with the swivel axis. In the closed position, a double seal in combination is guaranteed due to the magnetic strips and the gap. These permanent magnets are expediently designed as magnetic strips which extend essentially over the entire height of the frame profile and the vertical profile of the swivel wing. In the closed position of the swivel wing, the two permanent magnets or magnetic strips of frame profile and vertical profile face each other and due to the opposite polarization, magnetic tensile forces are exerted. This defines the swivel wing and locks it in the closed position without contact. The surfaces of the permanent magnets are essentially flush with the concave inner surface of the frame profile or the outer surface of the vertical profile. The convex outer surface has a defined distance and an annular gap from the inner surface and likewise the permanent magnets or magnetic strips mentioned in each position of the swivel wing, so that frictional forces are avoided. The magnetic tensile forces only act in the closed position. The profiles with the permanent magnets consist of a non-magnetic material, such as in particular aluminum or an aluminum alloy. Since there is no contact between the inner surface and the outer surface, abrasion, damage or jamming is reliably avoided.

Special refinements and developments are specified in the subclaims.

The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of the exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing. Show it:

Fig. 1 shows a section through the swivel wing 2 and a frame profile 4 transverse to the pivot axis 6 of the swivel wing 2. The frame profile 4 is connected to a wall profile 8, which is fastened in a known manner by means of screws and dowels to a wall 10 of a bathroom or shower room . As can be seen, the pivot axis 6 is perpendicular to the plane of the drawing and is defined by a hinge which has hinge parts connected on the one hand to the frame profile 4 and on the other hand connected to the swivel wing 2. The hinge parts can have pivot pins and bearing bushes or the like and are expediently arranged in the region of the upper edge of the pivoting wing 2 or in the region of the lower edge of the pivoting wing. The swivel wing 2 contains a vertical profile 12, with which the movable hinge parts are connected. By means of the hinge, on the one hand the pivotability of the pivoting wing 2 about the pivot axis 6 and on the other hand a defined orientation of the pivoting wing and its vertical profile 12 with respect to the frame profile 4 is ensured. The profiles 4 and 12 consist of a non-ferromagnetic material.

The frame profile 4 contains a concave inner surface 14 directed towards the pivot axis 6. This inner surface 14 is also essentially cylindrical and coaxial with the pivot axis 6. Compared to the inner surface 14 and at a distance from it, the vertical profile 12 has a convex, coaxial to the axis 6 and im substantially cylindrical outer surface 16. A defined narrow annular gap and a small distance 18 are thus present between the concave inner surface 14 and the convex outer surface 16.

The frame profile 4 and the vertical profile 12 have longitudinal grooves 20, 22, in which permanent magnets 24, 26 are inserted. The permanent magnets 24, 26 are designed in particular as magnetic strips, which extend essentially over the entire vertical height of the frame profile 4 and the vertical profile 12. The longitudinal grooves 20, 22 are undercut in such a way that the permanent magnets 24, 26 are secured by means of arms engaging in the undercuts. The permanent magnets and the longitudinal grooves and their undercuts are dimensioned in such a way that the surfaces of the permanent magnets 24, 26 facing each other lie essentially flush with the inner surface or outer surface. The alignment and arrangement of the permanent magnets 24, 26 according to the invention, in particular their surfaces with respect to the inner surface 14 or the outer surface 16, ensures that the permanent magnets do not come into contact with the opposite inner or outer surface when the pivoting wing 2 is moved and cause abrasion, grinding marks or even damage.

The permanent magnet 24 has a surface facing the pivot axis 6, which is essentially flush with the inner surface 14 of the frame profile 4. In contrast, the permanent magnet 26 of the vertical profile 12 has a surface facing away from the pivot axis 6, which surface is essentially flush with the outer surface 16. According to the invention, a narrow gap is thus present between the named surfaces of the permanent magnets 24, 26 designed as magnetic strips in the closed position of the rotary wing 2. The permanent magnets 24, 26 are oppositely polarized, for example a north pole on the surface of the permanent magnet 24 and a magnetic south pole on the surface of the permanent magnet 26. Magnetic tensile forces thus act between the magnetic strips, which hold the swivel wing 2 in the closed position shown without contact.

As can be seen, the longitudinal grooves 20, 22 and the permanent magnets 24, 26 are in a common vertical plane 28 in the closed position. This common vertical plane 28 faces the vertical plane 30, which defines the closed position of the pivoting wing 2, an angle 32. This angle 32 is expediently in the range between 30 and 60 °, preferably between 40 and 50 ° and in particular is essentially 45 ° in size. The aforementioned longitudinal grooves and the magnetic strips are arranged asymmetrically with respect to the vertical plane 30 and with respect to the frame profile 4 and the vertical profile 12. As a result, the available space is optimally used without the pivot axis 6 having to be too far apart from the room wall 10. The frame profile 4 and also the vertical profile 12 can thus be made comparatively small, which results in considerable material and weight savings.

The substantially U-shaped wall profile 8 projects with its mutually parallel legs into a cavity of the frame profile 4. The frame profile 4 overlaps the wall profile 8 from the outside and can be aligned with it. This is necessary so that the pivot axis 6 is vertical even in the case of an inaccurately vertical wall 10 and a gap between the lower edge of the pivoting wing and a tub rim or the arch of the foot can be kept as small as possible and the passage of splash water is prevented. The frame profile 4 is connected to the wall profile 8 by means of two screw connections, which are arranged vertically spaced apart and from which the lower screw 34 is indicated here by dash-dotted lines. The following explanations apply accordingly to the screw connection provided vertically spaced above the screw 4 or the further components.

The frame profile 4 has on each of its two legs a horizontal slot 36, 37 through which the screw 34 extends. The free end of the screw 34 engages in a connecting body 38 which is fixed in a recess 40 of the frame profile 4 which is expediently designed as a longitudinal groove. On the other side of the frame profile 4, a screw head 42 of the screw 34 bears on the outside against a leg 44 of the frame profile 4 directed towards the room wall 10. This leg 44 has a flat inner surface, which rests on the outer surface of the associated leg of the wall profile 8. Inside the U-shaped frame profile is in the area the connecting arrangement, a spacer 46 is provided, which has a bore 48 penetrated by the screw 34. As can be seen, the slots 36, 37 are open in the direction of the pivot axis 6.

The frame profile 4, the hinges for the swivel wing 2 and the two vertically spaced connection arrangements are pre-assembled at the factory. After fastening the wall profile 8 to the room wall 10, the assembly is carried out in a simple manner such that the two vertically spaced screws 34 are inserted through the associated slots 36, 37 of the wall profile 8, the frame profile 4 being the two legs of the wall profile 8 in the shown overlaps from the outside. The pivot axis 6 can now be aligned vertically and subsequently the two screws 34 of the connection arrangements are tightened, a clamp connection being evidently created. The spacer 46 prevents the legs of the wall profile 8 from being pressed together undesirably, the surfaces of the wall profile and the frame profile lying against one another ensuring a permanent frictional connection.

For securing purposes, a security screw 50 is also provided for each connection arrangement, which ensures a positive connection after the screws 34 have been tightened. For this purpose, the leg 44 expediently has a bore already provided at the factory, and after aligning the frame profile 4, a coaxial bore is also introduced into the adjacent leg of the wall profile 8 and also of the spacer 46 by means of a drill, so that subsequently the self-tapping safety screw 50 can be screwed. Finally, a cover profile 52 is placed from the outside, the outer contour of which corresponds to that of the opposite leg of the wall profile 8. For this purpose, the cover profile 52 has latching elements 54 directed in the direction of the leg 44, which engage in assigned recesses 56 on the outside of the leg 44 and engage behind the undercuts provided there. The superlative connections are therefore no longer visible from the outside and an overall harmonious and pleasing design is created with a secure connection and functionality. The cover profile 52 also has one of the pivot axis 6 facing inner surface 58. The inner surface 58 is concave and is preferably also coaxial with the pivot axis 6 with the same radius as the inner surface 14 of the frame profile 4.

As already explained, FIG. 1 shows the swivel wing 2 in the closed position of the shower partition, the interior 60 of a shower cabin being to the left of the door or swivel wing 2, while the area 62 of the bathroom to be separated from the shower cabin is to the right of the swivel wing .

When the pivoting wing 2 was opened, the two permanent magnets 24, 26 were moved away from one another in the manner shown, while overcoming the predetermined magnetic holding force. Due to the distance between the outer surface 16 of the vertical profile 12 and the inner surface 14 of the frame profile 4, frictional forces are avoided and the smooth movement of the opening movement of the pivoting wing 2 is ensured. The concave inner surface 14 extends over a circumferential angle 64, which is preferably greater than 90 °. The circumferential angle 64 is preferably between 90 ° and 150 ° and is in particular essentially 130 ° in size. The assigned convex outer surface 16, however, extends over a circumferential angle 66, which expediently extends over an angle of at least 90 °. The circumferential angle 66 of the outer surface 16 is preferably between 90 ° and 150 ° and is in particular essentially 130 °. In the context of the invention, the two circumferential angles 64, 66 mentioned are coordinated with one another in such a way that, in the fully open position of the pivoting wing 2, the inner surface 14 and the outer surface 16 overlap one another at a predetermined angle 68. This practically avoids the risk of a foreign body or finger getting caught, especially since the gap between the outer surface 14 and the inner surface 16 in the overlap region has the small gap width already explained above. According to FIG. 2, there is an approximately wedge-like widening gap area 70 to the right of the overlap angle 68, which, however, is continuous in the direction of arrow 72 when the pivoting wing 2 is closed is reduced. It is also important that the wedge-shaped gap region 70 forms an acute angle between the inner surface 14 and the outer surface 74 of the vertical profile 12, so that a high level of functional safety prevents a foreign body or a finger from being pinched there.

Finally, FIG. 3 shows the swivel wing in its position pivoted into the interior 60 of the shower cabin. The angular range 32 explained at the outset between the vertical plane of the pivoting wing 2 and the permanent magnet 26 and furthermore the circumferential angle 64 of the inner surface 14 are expediently coordinated with one another such that in the inwardly open position of the pivoting wing 2 the permanent magnet 26 extends from the area 62 of the bathroom is not visible from. This also ensures that the ferromagnetic bodies located in the region 62 are not attracted to the permanent magnet 26 and can lead to damage or jamming of the pivoting wing 2 in an inadmissible manner. It should be noted at this point that the permanent magnet 26 is accessible for the position shown in FIG. 2 which is open to the outside; since the presence of ferromagnetic foreign bodies in the interior 60 is substantially less, the functionality of the shower partition is practically not impaired. In this position of the swivel wing 2 there is again an overlap angle between the inner surface 14 and the outer surface 16, this overlap angle now correspondingly mirroring the position of FIG. 2 and the discussions there correspondingly applicable.
