Das zu klemmende Band kann nämlich immer dann, wenn ein neuer zu klemmender Faden geklemmt werden soll, um einen bestimmten Weg weiterbewegt werden, sodaß die geklemmten Fäden in der Klemmbandvorrichtung nacheinander geklemmt und gehalten in ihr liegen. Gemäß einer sehr vorteilhaften Ausführungsform der Erfindung weist die Klemmbandvorrichtung Klemmbänder auf, die im Fadenklemmbereich gegeneinander gedrückt und in gleicher Bandlaufrichtung bewegbar sind. Bei der dargestellten Ausführungsform der Erfindung wird der Faden zunächst nach dem "Parken" des Fadenführens abgeschnitten und danach auf einfache Weise wieder dadurch freigegeben, daß derselbe Faden danach nocheinmal nach dem Wiedereinstricken in das Gestrick abgeschnitten wird. Der Restfaden fällt dann früher oder später aus der Fadenklemmeinrichtung heraus.
