Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a cartridge belt made of a flexible plastic with chambers or pockets embossed at a preselected distance from one another for receiving cartridges, which are optionally designed with a sleeve or without a sleeve.
A cartridge belt of the generic type is already known from DE 92 03 731 U1. In this known cartridge belt made of plastic for, in particular, sleeve-free cartridges, which can be inserted vertically out of the belt into a firearm, the emptied webbing is pulled over a roller and wound into a roll as empties. This type of cartridge belt primarily reduces the weight and also requires less space for the empties than is the case with cartridge belts made of metal links.
A cartridge belt also made from a plastic, for example polyethylene, is also known from DE-AS 20 12 379. In this cartridge belt, grooves for the cartridge receptacle are formed at regular intervals by heating. Hinges in the form of small grooves are also stamped into the cartridge belt to achieve flexibility. After inserting the cartridges is over the belt a thin film strip is placed and fastened by welding so that the cartridges are held in the inserted position. These cartridges are removed from the weapon by tearing open the film strip at the appropriate points using the loading mechanism. This cartridge belt also has the advantages of low weight and a relatively small space requirement.
Starting from the aforementioned prior art, it is an object of the invention to provide a cartridge belt, the weight and space requirements of which are particularly reduced, particularly for the empties.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features of patent claim 1. Further developments and training of this solution concept are mentioned in
There are a number of advantages to this invention. The weight of the cartridge belt has been reduced again due to the very narrow belt strap. Furthermore, in the case of combustible casings or caseless ammunition, there is no longer any need to dispose of empties, because in this case the corresponding belt segment is also incinerated. Even with conventional metal sleeves, the belt segment remains on the sleeve during ejection and is ejected with it. As a result, there is no need for a separate derivation and also no empty belt section. The other advantages are a simple ammunition feed, small belt loops than with conventional cartridge belts and therefore smaller ammunition boxes, because a very tight storage is possible due to the flexible plastic.

The cartridge belt 1 is made of plastic and, in a preferred embodiment, is a fabric tape made of synthetic or natural fibers. The cartridge belt 1 as a fabric tape is relatively thin with about 0.1 to 0.2 mm and has only a small width. Experiments have shown that the cartridge belt 1 can be a rope into which eyelets are designed as receiving chambers for cartridges. The cartridge belt can also be a wide band or even a substantially closed container. A fabric tape with a width of approximately 8 mm to 15 mm has been found to be the cheapest for handling, technically not very complex and sufficient in terms of the strength properties. The selected geometric dimensions of the cartridge belt and the selected material ensure the safe absorption of the tensile forces that occur.
The cartridge belt 1 made of a flexible, separable and combustible material has receiving
Synthetic fibers, such as polyamide, or natural fibers are used as the material, the tensile forces occurring being up to about 250 kg. In order to achieve a stiffening of the fabric tape and an external protection, an impregnation, for example in resin, can be carried out.
The belt start 5 and the
Die Raumersparnis durch die engere Ladung beträgt etwa 25 %.Due to the flexibility of the cartridge belt, the belted ammunition can be loaded much more tightly than was possible with the metal belts previously used. The space saving due to the tighter load is about 25%.
For belting, the cartridge belt with the eyelets 3 is pushed over the cartridge 7 from the side of the projectile 8 to a
If the cartridge belt 1 is fed into a weapon, the
In conventional metal sleeves, the eyelet 3 of the cartridge belt 1 and the
