Abstract

A dryer screen has a paper side and a machine side. A plurality of machine direction threads extend in the direction of movement of the screen. The machine direction threads are arrayed in first and second groups. The threads of the groups are bound to the screen through different binding pattern repeats. A plurality of cross threads extend generally transverse to the machine direction threads. The threads of the first group are arrayed in first and second subgroups offset with respect to the direction of movement of the screen. Each subgroup comprises at least two abutting contiguous machine direction threads having a binding pattern repeat floating on the paper side over a predetermined plurality of cross threads.

Description

The invention relates to a dryer fabric in itself Machine direction extending longitudinal threads and across extending transverse threads made of plastic material, one first group of longitudinal threads on the paper side over several Cross threads floated and a second group of longitudinal threads that is different from the first group of Includes longitudinal threads.

Dryer fabrics are made of plastic threads longitudinal threads extending in the machine direction and extending transversely cross threads extending thereto. You will be in the dry area used in a paper machine and guide the paper web there over the hot drying cylinders. It is essential that the dryer fabrics ensure good heat transfer and one Condensation is prevented. It is therefore endeavored Form dryer fabrics as thin as possible and large ones To provide contact areas.

A variety of fabric constructions are available for dryer fabrics known. The PCT application is only an example WO 91 / 19⊘44 and the prior art specified therein referred. In this publication there are paper machine fabrics disclosed, in which a first group of longitudinal threads on the Paper page floated over several cross threads, the Longitudinal threads are formed as flat monofilaments. This Group of longitudinal threads runs above a second group of longitudinal threads, also called flat monofilaments can be trained.

The known dryer fabric has a good contact surface Because of the use of very wide flat monofilaments in particular for the longitudinal threads of the first group. These threads affect however the flexibility of the dryer fabric. Furthermore are the very wide flat monofilaments Special threads that are not easy to process and are expensive.

The invention has for its object a dryer type mentioned in such a way that despite large contact area achieved good flexibility on the paper side becomes.

This object is achieved in that in each case at least two adjacent longitudinal threads of the first group of subgroups of those that run at least on the paper side Form longitudinal threads and the longitudinal threads of a subgroup Lying side by side, and that the longitudinal threads of the Only bind the second group on the paper side with such cross threads, over which the longitudinal threads of a subgroup float, which run above this longitudinal thread of the second group. In this way, a crossing of the longitudinal threads of the first and second groups avoided. The corresponding is expediently also on the lower or machine side of the Dryer screen provided by the longitudinal threads of the second Float the group over those cross threads on the machine side, that tie in with the longitudinal threads of a subassembly on the machine side, which above the relevant longitudinal thread of the second Group run.

The longitudinal threads of a subgroup should also preferably be in the the rest are identical. It is under the term equally understand a course in which the concerned Tie longitudinal threads identically into the fabric.

According to the invention, the two contact surfaces are with Using several longitudinal threads that form sub-groups with the same binding History are summarized, generated. You can do this normal longitudinal threads, preferably as flat monofilaments with a cross-sectional ratio of 1.2: 1 to 3: 1 are used. Because the longitudinal threads despite their summary in sub-groups and their mutual contact are flexible with each other, this makes flexibility of the dryer fabric is not affected.

In a further embodiment of the invention it is provided that between two subgroups of longitudinal threads of the first group none Longitudinal threads of the second group run. Unless each subgroup consists of only two longitudinal threads, come on two longitudinal threads the first group only one longitudinal thread of the second group. On the one hand is thereby a concentration of the longitudinal threads the paper side to achieve a large contact area reached, on the other hand the dryer fabric is on the machine side comparatively open, which allows a good passage of steam is achieved.

The longitudinal threads of the first group should be on the paper side Float over at least three cross threads before repositioning them involve. The floatation can also be up to nine Cross threads go. On the machine side, the longitudinal threads of the Tie the first group only with a cross thread. Corresponding is also provided for the longitudinal threads of the second group, then there is a mirror image of the longitudinal threads the first group.

According to a further feature of the invention it is provided that the transverse threads are designed as open hollow monofilaments, such as are known, for example, from US Pat. No. 4,251,588. It is possible to either all or only part of the cross threads as open hollow monofilaments to train. In the latter case, the other part of the Cross threads can be formed as solid monofilaments, wherein then the hollow monofilaments with the solid monofilaments should alternate, preferably always one Hollow monofilament with a solid monofilament. For the purpose of Achieving a drying screen as thin as possible can then Hollow monofilaments using a calendering process be flattened.

In a further embodiment of the invention it is provided that cross threads of larger diameter alternate with cross threads, which have a smaller diameter compared to that, namely preferably in such a way that always a cross thread with a larger diameters with a transverse thread smaller Diameter alternates.

The longitudinal threads of a subgroup are expedient opposite adjacent longitudinal threads of a subgroup in Machine direction offset with regard to their integration. In addition, the longitudinal threads of the first group should be identical Have cross-sectional shape and area.

Although multilayer versions in Question comes, the training as a single-layer dryer strived to minimize the thickness of the dryer fabric hold.

The production of the dryer fabric according to the invention can be done in easily done in such a way that for the weaving process shrinkable cross threads used and the dryer after Weaving process is so heat-treated that each parallel threads of a sub-group side lay side by side. It is known that plastic threads such as polyester threads or the like Exposure to heat shrink. The Shrinkability is here to put the Longitudinal threads of a subgroup and also the longitudinal threads of two targeted use of neighboring sub-groups, which and practically uninterrupted contact areas arise.

The dryer fabric (1) shown in Figure (1) is as single layer fabric and has one in the directions machine direction of arrow A. Across this Machine direction A runs round cross threads - exemplified with (2) -. You are as Hollow monofilaments are formed, that is, in the untreated Condition cavities - designated by way of example with (3). The Cross threads (2) consist of a when applying heat highly shrinkable plastic material, for example Polyester.

Tie with the transverse threads (2) in the machine running direction A. Longitudinal threads used as flat monofilaments with a rectangular Cross section are formed. A first group of longitudinal threads - exemplified with (4, 5, 6, 7) - floats in each case over three cross threads on the paper side before the longitudinal threads (4, 5, 6, 7) with a transverse thread (2) on the underside on the Integrate the machine side. Two each run adjacent longitudinal threads (4, 5) or (6, 7) identical, so have an identical and always parallel progressive course. Two longitudinal threads each (4, 5) or (6, 7) thus form subgroups in the first group of Longitudinal threads (4, 5, 6, 7), with the sub-groups side by side run, but in the machine direction A by two Cross threads (2) are offset.

Between two longitudinal threads (4, 5) or (6, 7) each have a further longitudinal thread (8, 9), the together form a second group of longitudinal threads. They have one to the longitudinal threads (4, 5) or (6, 7) of the first group mirror image, d. H. they only bind a cross thread (2) on the paper side and then float on the machine side via three cross threads (2). The longitudinal threads (8, 9) the second group bind only with such paper Cross threads (2), over which the longitudinal threads (4, 5) or (6, 7) float the associated subgroup. Two side by side are longitudinal threads (8, 9) of the second group with regard to their integration also by two Cross threads (2) offset in machine direction A.

Figure (1) shows the dryer fabric (1) in the state after Weaving process. The longitudinal threads (4, 5) or (6, 7) of a sub-group then have a distance from each other that is slightly larger than the width of the longitudinal threads (8, 9) of the second group. That so manufactured dryer fabric (1) is then subjected to a heat treatment subjected to temperatures at which the transverse threads (2) shrink considerably. This has the consequence that the longitudinal threads (4, 5) and (6, 7) come into contact with each other, whereby they on the paper side over the longitudinal threads (8, 9) of the second Group and on the machine side between the respective Transverse thread (2) and the longitudinal thread (8, 9) push. The adjacent longitudinal threads (5, 6) of the two Subgroups then come to the plant. It arises on this Way, the fabric image according to Figure (2) by large Contact areas is marked on the paper side.

The dryer fabric (1) then becomes one Subjected to calendering treatment, whereby the cross threads (2) be flattened such that the inside of the cavities (3) come into mutual contact, i.e. no voids (3) there are more. This creates a very thin one Dryer screen (1) with favorable heat transfer properties.
