Description

The invention relates to a feeder of a paper sheet processing machine. Investors of paper sheet processing machines are known, in which, with the aid of lifting suction devices, paper sheets are picked up and lifted from the stack, and then transferred to further downstream conveying means which convey the paper sheets into paper processing units, for example printing units of a printing press. It is important that the suction cups remain in the raised position until the trailing edge of the sheet of paper has been removed from the range of motion of the suction cup. Then the suction cups are lowered again as quickly as possible to pick up the next sheet of paper. Mechanical locking devices are known in which the lifting suction device remains secured above the sheet of paper and is moved downwards after the locking device has been released. Such mechanically complex locking systems are particularly slow in high-speed machines. The production and especially the release of the lock takes a very large amount of time, so that the next sheet of paper can only be raised late, which considerably reduces the printing speed. If the locking device is released earlier, the suction device may touch the rear edge of the sheet, as a result of which it can be damaged or the paper sheets can be torn from the subsequent conveying means or at least shifted in their position. The danger exists particularly with drag vacuums as subsequent funding.

A proposal for a solution for simply brief stopping of lifting vacuums is known from DD PS 2 93 562 A5. Here, the vacuum cleaner is connected to an additional suction line in the Suction head held in a raised position by means of suction air, which acts on a flat contact surface of the vacuum cleaner from above. After leaving the trailing edge of the sheet of paper taken over by the vacuum cleaners from the range of movement of the lifting vacuum, the suction air of this additional suction line is interrupted. The suction cup can be quickly lowered in the usual way to take over the subsequent sheet of paper. The proposed suction lifter is very complex, complicated and expensive due to the additional suction line and suction control arranged close to the suction lifter. The holding surface is nose-shaped, so that a rotation of the suction device, as is often desired in operation, is not possible without restricting the fast-reacting holding mechanism. The pneumatic forces have to be matched very precisely to the weight of the vacuum cleaner. The invention has for its object to provide a holding device on the vacuum cleaner.

According to the invention the object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1.

The lifting suction device is subject to a force potential that permanently acts downwards to take up the bow. This permanent force potential enables the lifting vacuum to be lowered quickly after the lifting vacuum is released by the holding means. In its raised position, the lifter can be restrained against the force of the force potential accelerating the lifter downward by the support of the mechanical holding means, which are also raised independently of the lifter with pneumatically controlled means, parallel to the lifter movement. A pneumatically driven lowering of the holding means parallel to the direction of the suction device movement enables the holder of the suction device to be lifted quickly and immediately. The Pneumatically controllable means for moving the holding means enable the mechanical holding means to be raised and lowered quickly and thus the holding force to be built up and broken down quickly. It is thus possible to use simple means to create a responsive holding mechanism for the lifting vacuum in its raised position. The pneumatic forces do not have to be fine-tuned in their magnitude and precisely to the weight of the lifting device, as in the DD 293 562 A5 due to the pneumatic holding force that acts directly on the lifting device and eccentrically to the lifting device axis. The pneumatic control can be made simpler. Required lines can be provided even further outside the direct suction area. Dangerous air that can interfere with sheet transport is avoided.

Particularly advantageous, cheap and reliable embodiments are described by the features of claims 2 to 5. The pneumatic cylinder enables a particularly safe, responsive holding device. The design of the holding means as a holding pin is simple and inexpensive and yet reliable. To improve the functional and reaction safety, this is performed with the help of management tools.

The designs according to the features of claims 6 and 7 enable the vacuum cleaner to be replaced quickly. By pivoting the holding means, it is possible to pull the lifting suction device down with its holding attachment past the holding means and to exchange it for a desired other one. This also proves to be advantageous when using a holding attachment of the lifting suction device with a profiled cross section, for example a rectangular cross section for the individual adjustment of the lifting nozzle lips.

The feeder according to the invention also makes it possible to dispense with other holding means which limit the lifting movement, such as holding springs. The support which extends permanently into the stroke movement path of the holding attachment of the lifting suction device limits the downward stroke distance by abutment of the holding attachment of the lifting suction device on the support when the support is lowered in the lower position of the lifting suction device.

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to an exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 4.

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, suction unit 1 are in a known manner on a transverse to the sheet conveying direction of a sheet printing machine above Not shown stack of trays attached, fixed in a suction head, not shown, traverse 2. The lifting suction units 1, one of which is shown, have, in a known manner, a guide cylinder 4 which is fastened to the cross member 2. A lifting suction device 5 is mounted on the guide cylinder 4 in a known manner downwards in the direction of the stack. To lift the lifting suction device 5, suction suction 3 of the guide cylinder 4 is acted upon with suction air in a known manner. Through a bore in the guide cylinder 4, the cylinder space 15 of the suction lifter 5 and the nozzle 6 are also acted upon with suction air in a known manner. After the paper sheets have been sucked in through the nozzles 6, the lifting suction device 5 is raised against the action of the spring 16. The lifting suction device 5 is raised from its position in FIG. 3a to a raised position according to FIG. 3b.

The lifting suction device 5 has on its upper edge a retaining projection 13 formed over the entire circumference of the lifting suction device 5. The stroke is limited upwards by striking the retaining projection 13.

A holding plate 20 is articulated on the lifting suction device by means of a pin 12 mounted in a vertical plane to the lifting suction axis. A pneumatic cylinder 8 is fastened to the holding plate 20 with a pneumatic piston 11 which is axially displaceable therein. The pneumatic cylinder 8 is connected via a pneumatic line 9 to a controlled, not shown pneumatic source of known type. A pin 10 is fastened to the pneumatic cylinder 11 perpendicular to the direction of movement of the pneumatic piston 11 and extends through an elongated hole 18 in the holding plate 20 which is aligned parallel to the direction of movement of the pneumatic cylinder 11. The holding pin 10 points with its end pointing away from the pneumatic cylinder 11 to the axis of the lifting suction device 5. The holding plate 20 is supported by a spring 14 a stop surface 19, which is oriented perpendicular to the direction of movement of the lifting suction device and is fastened to the cross member 2, is pressed, so that the direction of movement of the pneumatic piston 11 runs parallel to the direction of movement of the lifting suction device 5. The end of the pin 10, which points away from the pneumatic piston 11, engages permanently below the holding projection 13 in the range of motion of the holding projection 13.

As soon as the lifting suction device has been raised to its upper position, the pneumatic cylinder 8 is acted upon by suction air, the guide pin 10 moves from a lower position, as shown in FIG. 3a, to its upper position, as shown in FIG. 3b which he enters into contact contact with the stop surface 13 of the suction lifter 5. As soon as the raised sheet of paper is completely removed from the lifting movement area of the suction device 5 by the known suction devices downstream, not shown, in the sheet conveying direction, the pneumatic circuit for the pneumatic cylinder 8 is vented in a known manner and the holding force of the pin 10 is simultaneously released immediately. The lifting suction device 5, which has already been vented to release the paper sheets, falls down due to its own weight, reinforced by the spring force of the spring 16, for receiving the next paper sheet. The pneumatic piston 11, which also falls downward, and the guide pin 10 are thereby safely carried downward.

To accelerate the release and to relieve the lifting suction movement from the entrainment of the pneumatic piston 11, it is also conceivable to pressurize the pneumatic piston 11 for acceleration downwards via the pneumatic line 9 or to accelerate it downwards with the aid of an additional spring (not shown). The guide pin 10 can be used in its lower position as a limit stop for the suction lifter 5.

Likewise, it is of course conceivable to provide additional limiting means, for example a limiting spring (not shown), slightly above the lower position of the holding pin 10 for the lower limitation of the lifting suction device 5, which limits the lifting suction device on its holding attachment 13 in its downward direction of movement.

As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, a lifting suction device 5 can be rotated in a known manner around the lifting suction device movement axis in a known manner, in the usual way not receiving plane 17 of the lip 7 of the lifting suction device 5, which is designed perpendicular to the movement plane of the lifting suction device. As shown in FIG. 4, a secure, responsive hold can be made possible even when the receiving plane is rotated.

To carry out a vacuum cleaner change, the pneumatic cylinder 8 with the holding plate 20 is pivoted about the pin 12 against the spring force of the spring 14 in such a way that the guide pin 10 leaves the range of motion of the holding projection 13. The lifting suction device can thus be pulled down from the guide cylinder 4 with its holding projection 13 past the guide pin 10. To simplify the setting of certain preselected suction device setting positions, it is conceivable to equip the holding projection 13 of the suction device 5 instead of a circular profile, for example with a square profile concentric with the suction device axis, so that one of the four sides of the square points towards the holding plate 20. To adjust the receiving plane of the suction lifter, the pneumatic cylinder 8 with the holding plate 20 and guide pin 10 is also pivoted out of the range of movement of the holding projection 13 so that the lifting suction device can be rotated about its axis until another desired side of the square profile points towards the holding plate 20. After rotation of the suction cup, the holding plate 20 is by its spring force swung back into its holding position. Instead of the four pre-adjustable setting positions of the receiving plane 17 that can be achieved thereby, it is of course also possible to give the holding projection 13 instead of four, for example, a hexagonal or octagonal profile, so that six or eight or, with a correspondingly different profile, also several contact surfaces and thus setting positions of the receiving plane are possible are.
