Description

Drive axis for peristaltic pump and its manufacturing process.

The present invention relates to a drive shaft for a peristaltic pump and its manufacturing process.

In peristaltic pumps, drive shafts are used to rotate rollers, which crush deformable tubes containing the liquid to be conveyed.

These axes are connected by all appropriate links to a control motor. The control motor rotates the drive axis, which acts on at least one roller adjacent to it.
Usually, the drive axes are metallic, they are more particularly made of stainless steel, while the rollers are made of various plastics.

The drive axes known up to now generally give satisfaction. However, it was found that after a certain period of use, there was, on the one hand, wear and tear both of the drive axle and of the roller and, on the other hand, a sliding between the axle and the roller, which leads to poor rotation and unsatisfactory drive.

A bad drive of a rotary roller by an axis does not allow to have a regular and appropriate crushing of the deformable tube, with which a rotary roller comes into contact and, consequently, a good routing of the liquid to be conveyed.

In the past, many attempts have been made to try to avoid this sliding phenomenon, but as far as is known, they have proved unsuccessful because, in fact, it was necessary to compress the rollers to obtain a satisfactory training.

According to American patent US-2,899,904, it is proposed to make the drive shaft rough by knurling. The result obtained is not stable over time and can produce rapid wear of the rollers.

American patent US-3,249,059 proposes to equip the drive shaft with rings of elastic material. Patches are a potential source of failure. In addition, they do not make it possible to remedy all of the drive faults and their wear is rapid.

American patent US Pat. No. 5,037,274 also proposes the use of a drive shaft having a conical upper end.

The present invention overcomes the aforementioned drawbacks by proposing a drive axis of rotary rollers, with which a drive is obtained without sliding of a roller by the axis.

In the present invention, the drive is obtained without crushing the rollers and with a very low engine torque.

  • Figure 2 is a section taken on the line II-II in Figure 1;

As shown in Figure 1, there is schematically and partially illustrated a peristaltic pump 4, with which three rollers 2 are rotated by a drive shaft 1 driven by a motor not shown.

As can be seen from FIG. 2, the drive axis 1 has several different zones on its external surface coming into contact with at least one roller 2 housed in the peristaltic pump 4.

The drive axis 1 is integral with a shoulder 12 ensuring its retention in the peristaltic pump body.

The method of obtaining the treated surfaces 7, 7 ′ will be indicated below.

La Figure 2A représente le détail A de l'embout supérieur de l'axe d'entraînement 1.Figure 2A shows the detail A of the upper end of the drive shaft 1.

Le rayon de courbure 9 du cône est sensiblement égal à la moitié du diamètre 10 de l'axe d'entraînement 1 au niveau des galets 2.The radius of curvature 9 of the cone is substantially equal to half the diameter 10 of the drive axis 1 at the level of the rollers 2.

In the embodiment according to Figure 3, only the zones 7, 7 'coming into contact with the parts 15, 16 of the roller 2 are treated, while the others external parts 6 of the drive shaft 1 are not treated.

Lors de la rotation du galet 2 par l'axe d'entraînement 1, le tube 3 est comprimé par la partie médiane 11 du galet rotatif 2.During the rotation of the roller 2 by the drive axis 1, the tube 3 is compressed by the middle part 11 of the rotary roller 2.

On décrit à présent le traitement de la surface externe de l'axe d'entraînement 1.The treatment of the external surface of the drive axis 1 is now described.

The surface treatment of the drive axis 1 of the rollers 2 is what is known as shot blasting or billing.

According to this shot peening or billing treatment, particles, generally solid particles, are projected at a certain angle and under a determined pressure, in order to obtain a controlled roughness of the selective parts of the drive axis having received the projections. solid particles.

These projections of solid particles can be, for example, projections of glass beads, tungsten particles, particles of various hard materials such as diamond. Naturally, it can also be various particles of sand.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the drive shaft is manufactured under the following conditions.

The axle is made of a material, for example steel, stainless.

Il est rectifié de manière à lui donner un diamètre précis, par exemple φ = 2,48 ± 0,001 mm.It is adjusted so as to give it a precise diameter, for example φ = 2.48 ± 0.001 mm.

It is then shot blasted at least on selective parts 7, 7 '. To this end, the axis is carried by a rotary head and is subjected to the projections of an oriented nozzle, approximately perpendicular to the axis, and driven by an alternating movement parallel thereto. The nozzle thus scans the selective parts 7, 7 ′ of the axis to be shot blasted.

Shot blasting balls are glass balls or diamond crystals with an average size of 65 micrometers.

The projection time was 5 seconds, at a distance of 100 mm, at a shooting angle of 90 °.

The pressure of the machine projecting the abrasive was 2 bars.

In some cases, after the selective shot peening treatment over a large area, in order to obtain the parts 7, 7 ′ illustrated in the drawings, the drive axis 1 was again rectified in the parts 14 which have not received shot blasting or billing treatment.

The axis is then subjected to a heat treatment accompanied by a deposit of titanium nitride, for example with a thickness equal to 2 micrometers. This treatment makes it possible to increase the surface hardness of the axis without changing its surface condition.

During intensive use of the drive shaft 1 according to the present invention, having selective parts treated 7, 7 ′ to have a controlled roughness upon contact with the upper 15 and lower 16 parts of the rotary roller 2, it is noted that the shot peening or billing treatment applied to the drive shaft 1 of the present invention ensures good drive of the roller (s) 2, without wear or abrasion of said roller (s) 2. There is no also no transfer of plastic particles on the axis, which could lead to blockage of the craters created by shot blasting or billing.

The drive shaft 1 made of stainless steel with the treated parts 7, 7 ', as indicated above, had a diameter of approximately 2.5 mm, while the diameter of the rotary rollers 2 was approximately 12 mm .

The part of the drive shaft is fully polished before billing and, after the billing operations, the dimensions of the drive shaft 1 are not not modified, which allows excellent dimensional accuracy of the diameter of the drive axis 1 to be obtained.

The invention is not limited to the embodiment shown and described in detail, and various modifications can be made without departing from its scope.

The reference signs, inserted after the technical characteristics mentioned in the claims, have the sole purpose of facilitating the understanding of the latter, and in no way limit their scope.
