Description

The present invention relates to a mixing device for packaging and dispensing a mixture of two products isolated from each other before the dispensing operation.

Numerous devices have already been proposed making it possible to condition two products, which one wishes to mix just before use, in a single package.

This is particularly the case for the mixing bottle described in EP-A2-0 243 730 which comprises two compartments arranged axially one after the other, a shutter closing, during storage, the connection zone of the two compartments ; the shutter is carried by a stopper rotatably mounted at the end of the bottle by a ramp connection, so that when the stopper is turned relative to the bottle, the shutter releases communication between the two compartments and the two products can be mixed; the stopper carries a pouring spout closed by a closure piece connected to the spout by a breakable zone. EP-A-0 063 759 relates to a device in which two containers are mounted in a common envelope, according to the preamble of claim 1. The first container is fixed and the dispensing head is always disposed outside the envelope common. Only one of the containers is slidably mounted in the envelope so as to approach the first fixed container and to put the two containers in communication. These mixing bottles have the drawback of not being safe to use, since the bottle can be used without mixing of the two products.

The present invention relates to a mixing device which is simple to make and does not have the above drawback.

Thus, according to the invention, a device for mixing at least two products each contained in a container, one of the containers, or first container, before a volume adapted to receive the product contained in the other container, or second container. , to obtain the mixture of the two products, the first container has its upper part a push button equipped with a nozzle actuation allows the mixture to come out of the first container to through the nozzle, closable communication means being provided between the two containers, the two containers being carried by a common envelope in which the second container can slide relative to the first container between two positions, a so-called remote position for which the two containers are not in communication and a so-called approach position for which the communication means are actuated and the two containers are in communication, is characterized in that the envelope is closed at its upper part by a cover and that compressible means temporarily maintains, during storage, the first container away from the cover of the envelope, the push button of the first container being inside the envelope.

Advantageously, the envelope has a length such that, in the position away from the two containers, the first container is entirely contained in the envelope, including its push button, while the second container protrudes from the envelope , whereas, in the position for bringing the two containers closer together, the push-button of the first container protrudes from the envelope and is therefore accessible from outside the envelope.

Preferably, the envelope consists of a cylindrical wall closed at its upper part with a cover in which is formed an orifice whose section is equal, apart from play, to the section of the push button of the first container, the lower part of the envelope being provided with a passage at most equal to the section of the second container.

Advantageously, hooking means are provided for immobilizing the assembly in the position for bringing the two containers closer together, the push-button of the first container emerging from the envelope being accessible from the exterior of the envelope; according to one embodiment, the attachment means comprise a recess provided on the second container and in which is housed the edge of the lower part of the envelope defining the passage.

As a variant, the envelope has a length such that, whatever the position of the two containers, the two containers are contained in the envelope which retains a pusher at its lower part projecting outside the envelope and cooperating with the second container.

According to another variant, the envelope is in two parts, an upper part and a lower part, one nested in the other, with the possibility of relative axial displacement of one of the parts with respect to the other, the envelope comprising a bottom formed by the bottom of the lower part, and each of the two receptacles being located inside one of the pieces.

Advantageously, whatever the variant, a compressible means is provided in the envelope between the two containers.

The means of communication between the two containers are of the manual pump type; alternatively, the communication means are of the valve type, a pressurized propellant being provided in the second container.

The push-button of the first container activates a manual pump; alternatively, the push button implements a valve, the first container being filled with a propellant fluid under a pressure lower than the pressure of the propellant fluid present in the second container.

When the assembly is designed for head-up use, at least one of the two containers has a dip tube.

To better understand the object of the invention, we will now describe, by way of purely illustrative and nonlimiting example, an embodiment shown in the accompanying drawing.

The first container 10, in the example shown, is a conventional aerosol can, the upper wall 19 of which carries a valve 12 actuable by a push button 15 provided with a dispensing nozzle 16; the valve 12 is connected to a dip tube 13; the volume 14 of the container 10, above the level of the product 11, is occupied by a propellant fluid under pressure.

The second container 20, as shown, is of the same kind as the container 10: its upper wall 29 carries a valve 22 connected to a dip tube 23; the volume 24 of the container 20, above the level of the product 21, is occupied by a propellant fluid under a pressure greater than the pressure of the propellant fluid in the volume 14 of the first container 10.

Les deux récipients 10 et 20 sont disposés l'un au dessus de l'autre dans une enveloppe commune 30 ; des moyens de communication obturable sont prévus entre les deux récipients 10 et 20 : ils consistent en une tige de commande 18 de la valve 22 du deuxième récipient 20, ladite tige de commande 18, tubulaire comme connu en soi, étant portée par un poussoir 17, solidaire du fond du premier récipient 10 et muni d'un canal, non représenté, en communication, d'une part, avec la tige 18, et, d'autre part, avec l'intérieur du premier récipient 10 ; dans la position relative dite d'éloignement des deux récipients 10 et 20, représentée sur la figure 1, la valve 22 est fermée ; lorsque les deux récipients 10 et 20 sont rapprochés l'un de l'autre, dans les conditions décrites ci-après, vers une position dite de rapprochement, telle que représentée sur la figure 2, la tige de commande 18 pénètre dans la valve 22 qu'elle ouvre, et le produit 21 du deuxième récipient 20, sous l'action du fluide propulseur présent dans ce deuxième récipient 20, rejoint le premier récipient 10 à travers le tube plongeur 23, la valve 22 ouverte, la tige 18 et le canal du poussoir 17, la pression du fluide propulseur présent dans le deuxième récipient 20 étant supérieure à celle du fluide dans le premier récipient 10.The two containers 10 and 20 are arranged one above the other in a common envelope 30; closable communication means are provided between the two containers 10 and 20: they consist of a control rod 18 of the valve 22 of the second container 20, said control rod 18, tubular as known per se, being carried by a pusher 17 , integral with the bottom of the first container 10 and provided with a channel, not shown, in communication, on the one hand, with the rod 18, and, on the other hand, with the interior of the first container 10; in the relative position known as the separation of the two containers 10 and 20, shown in FIG. 1, valve 22 is closed; when the two containers 10 and 20 are brought towards each other, under the conditions described below, towards a so-called approach position, as shown in FIG. 2, the control rod 18 enters the valve 22 that it opens, and the product 21 of the second container 20, under the action of the propellant fluid present in this second container 20, joins the first container 10 through the dip tube 23, the valve 22 open, the rod 18 and the channel of the pusher 17, the pressure of the propellant fluid present in the second container 20 being greater than that of the fluid in the first container 10.

The common envelope 30 consists of a closed cylindrical wall, at its upper part, with a cover 35; an orifice 31 is formed in the cover 35; the orifice 31 is located, when the assembly is mounted, in line with the push button 15 of the first container 10, the section of the orifice 31 being equal, apart from the mounting clearance, to the section of the push button 15 .

On the side opposite to the cover 35, the envelope 30 is provided with a passage 33 for the second container 20; the passage 33 is defined by the edge of the lower part 32 of the envelope 33, in the form of a collar, in which the second container 20 is mounted tight.

A compressible means 34, in the form of a foam ring, is disposed between the cover 35 of the envelope 30 and the upper wall 19 of the first container 10, said compressible means 34 defining the position of the first container 10 in the envelope 30 during storage of the assembly; in this position, as can be seen in FIG. 1, the push-button 15 is flush with the cover 35 of the casing 30, so that it is not accessible from the outside; in this storage position, the second container 20 is away from the first container 10, the valve 22 being closed, and the second container 20 protrudes from the lower part of the casing 30 which maintains it in this position by tightening its flange 32 on the outer wall of the container 20.

To use the mixing device according to the present invention, it suffices, while maintaining the envelope 30, to push the second container 20 inside the envelope 30: this single gesture causes, on the one hand, the bringing together of the two containers 10 and 20, and therefore the opening of the valve 22 allowing the second product 21 to reach the first container 10, and, on the other hand, the exit of the push button 15 through the orifice 31 of the casing 30, by sliding the two containers 10 and 20 in the envelope 30; during these operations, the foam ring 34 is compressed; at the end of the race, the edge of the lower part 32 of the envelope 30 relaxes elastically in a narrowed part of the container 20 defining a recess 36 allowing the attachment of the envelope 30 to the container 20 and the maintenance of the 'together in the position of use, as shown in Figure 2; thus, the mixture 41 of the two products is produced, and action, as soon as possible, on the push button 15, allows the distribution of this mixture 41 through the nozzle 16 of the push button 15.

Thus, safety in use is ensured: it is impossible to actuate the push button 15 without the mixture 41 being produced.

In the example shown, the first container 10 is pressurized, and the push-button 15 actuates a valve 12; alternatively, the first container 10 is equipped with a manual pump.

Similarly, the second container 20 can also be equipped with a pump, the means of communication between the two containers being, in this case, actuable by several successive movements of the two containers 10 and 20, one relative to the other, after which the means for attaching the envelope 30 to the second container 20 are made operational.

A foam ring was used as the compressible means 34; it could also be a spring or an irreversibly deformable part.

According to the variant shown in Figure 3, when the two containers 10 and 20 are in the remote position, the container 20 is entirely contained in the casing 30, the lower part 32 retains a pusher 40 projecting from the outside of the envelope and cooperating with the container 20; in this variant, it is the pusher 40 which carries the attachment means 36, here in the form of a groove, in which the edge of the lower part 32 of the envelope 30 is housed.

According to the variants shown in Figures 4 to 6, the casing 30 is in two parts 30A, 30B, an upper part 30A and a lower part 30B, nested one inside the other with the possibility of relative axial displacement of the one of the pieces in relation to the other piece; according to these variants, the envelope comprises a bottom 37 constituted by the bottom of the lower part 30B and each of the two containers 10, 20 is located inside each of the parts 30A, 30B; the relative axial displacement of the two parts can be obtained by relative axial sliding and / or by relative rotation.

When the displacement is obtained by sliding, the two parts 30A, 30B, as shown in FIG. 4, are shaped so as to ensure the two preferred relative positions of one relative to the other, corresponding to the so-called positions of distance and approximation of the two containers 10, 20; these privileged positions are for example ensured by a groove 45 provided on one of the parts, the upper part 30A, which cooperates with two grooves 46, 47 axially spaced apart provided on the other part, the lower part 30B.

When the displacement is obtained by rotation, one of the parts, the part 30A as shown in FIG. 5, has a helical thread 38 which cooperates with a thread 39 also helical that the other part 30B has; it is also possible to obtain such a displacement by providing one of the parts, the part 30B as shown in FIG. 6, with at least one pin or index finger 41 cooperating with a ramp-shaped opening 42 formed in the wall of the other part 30A, said ramp 42 extending essentially at a certain angle with the axis of the envelope 30A-30B but ending, at each of its ends, in a small portion 43, 48 located in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the envelope, this arrangement making it possible to lock the two relative extreme positions of one of the parts of the envelope with respect to the other; according to this variant, the angle of the ramp 42 with the axis of the casing 30A-30B can be provided such that, when the pin or index finger 41 cooperates with this inclined part of the ramp 42, an axial stress of a piece 30B relative to the other piece 30A automatically leads to a relative rotation of the two pieces 30A, 30B, which facilitates the maneuver for setting communication of the two containers 10 and 20; it then suffices to make the two parts 30A, 30B carry out a slight movement of relative rotation to lock the position of the two receptacles 10 and 20 in communication.

Quelle que soit la variante, avantageusement un moyen compressible, comme par exemple un anneau en mousse 44 analogue à l'anneau 34, est prévu dans l'enveloppe 30 entre les deux récipients 10, 20.Whatever the variant, advantageously a compressible means, such as for example a foam ring 44 similar to the ring 34, is provided in the casing 30 between the two containers 10, 20.
